Hi John. I was looking at Buska in the park and all the videos show Arnie as black and is a gelding from what I saw. I’m sure you both noticed that too. But Raden is sure just as nippy. lol.

It amazes me how some people have either no manners or awareness and stand in front of another posing for a photograph. It may be crowded but I don't see that as an excuse for inconsiderate behavior or not comprehending why others are standing by the horse.
There were so many people trying to see the King's Guards and horses. The horses are so beautiful and have so much patience as the guards do. I think that some people are just trying to get their picture taken that they don't think about the very large horse they are standing next to. Thank you John. Have a wonderful evening. ❤

I haven't been in London since I was 26 in 1978. American but my grandma emigrated from England as a young woman. She was a widow of a guards soldier. I was astonished to see a large troop of soldiers exercise their horses through Hyde Park while walking with my mother-in-law-- thrilling! Never got to Horse Guards but now I feel like I have been after watching several of your videos. It is like being there without getting jostled by the crowd. LOL 😊

The man that did the inspection is a great man he has been in harms way a lot, to watch him do it differently than you are used to tell me that he is a great guy and likes to live. I thought I was the only one who felt this way. So rude...also if there's a crowd waiting to take pictures don't keep standing there rubbing the horses nose...do it a couple of times then move on...I mean really there is going to be a big fight one of these days

Just imagine, if every tourists wanting a photo, put their hands on the Reins, one after another, after another. How dreadful that would be !! It's bad enough, as it is, with the crowds so anxious to get a photo, being pushy. 🇬🇧

It’s interesting that when most couples stand next to one of the horses, the man seems to position the woman between him and the horse. No chivalry there. 🤦♀️ Also, some parents seem to position their kids between themselves and the horse. What is up with that? Or when a parent is holding a child and positions the child next to the horse’s mouth. 🤦♀️ 🤷♀️ I don’t understand any of that. Also, there were certainly some rude, pushy, and self-centered people jockeying for a positions for photos today. The one lady that the police had to tell twice to move back and her response was that she was getting a picture. So rude and disrespectful. Even adults stepping in front of a parent trying to get a photo of their child or when someone hangs around the horse too long and won’t move so that others can get a photo. Just crazy.

Just a silly dad, holding his toddlers front of the horse month. Now the toddler was kicking his legs. That’s why maybe, the horse bit him
It looks like men are more likely than women to keep a distance from the horses-- not all, but a lot. And women either keep distant or run in for a cuddle.

Good to see Miss Arnie back - and she’s still as feisty as ever. And, as I recall, she has no facial markings, no blaze, not even a tidgy star.
People just don’t seem to realise how powerful horses are and how aggressive they can be. And it doesn’t matter how good a horseman or woman the rider is - a horse will only be controlled if it wants to. It’s an agreement of trust between the horse and the rider - and the horse can break that agreement whenever it likes. There’s a reason why energy is measured in horsepower and not manpower.
I wonder if those people who think they’re sneaking up on the horse from the side and think it doesn’t know they’re there ever consider just where the horse’s eyes are positioned. They have monocular and binocular vision so can see who’s approaching them from the side better than they can from the front.

Animals that are predators like lions have eyes in the front. Prey animals which horses are have eyes on the sides better able to see danger especially since predators usually attack from behind.

Hoses LOVE mints. Any UK horse person is liable to have a pack of polo's about their person, just as here in NZ we always tended to have a bag of Oddfellows mints about us for the same reason.
@@catzkeet4860 Many years ago I met the great Red Rum the Grand National winner in my town , he was there to open a bookies , I ran into a shop and bought some Polos gave a packet to his groom to save for later he was delighted said they were his favourite 😁 . There were two magnificent police horses with him so I passed some to the officers as well , those horses were a pair of big softies nuzzling my little daughter . 😍

Maybe certain people have certain scents that the horses don't like, and that's why they nip or bite.
That's what I have been thinking, some perfumes and after shave are very strong, also different foods they eat spices and curries.

Nice to see the contrast between the friendly, polite, ever helpful troopers who, unless they’re being run ragged, will almost always stop to advise on horse names etc. I also noticed that it’s usually the horsey people who tend to ask before touching. You can tell because they know how to pat a horse. I was also hoping that the horse would bite that woman in white with the expression of a squeezed out lemon, but alas, no. Probably for the best tho……she’d likely have given the horse colic😮😂

Why do the house guard have two reins, an inner and outer rein? When you watch Ken Mcnabb using leverage bit he only
uses one rein and he has full control on his horse. He has a TH-cam channel too.
I get so annoyed with people who have to touch the horses nose as they walk by like it’s a petting zoo. I’ve been around horses most of my life and I can’t imagine any horse putting up with this constantly from strangers. Bless these horses who are nippers…..they are standing their ground and cheers to them. John’s comments make it even more fun to watch.
