Don't forget that when Flapjack passed, he left a bit of himself with Hunter. Hunter will always have Flapjack with him, even with the scars. You're doing great:)
It's so sad that Patrick couldn't be here for this one. The parallels between him and Flapjack you mentioned really made me tear up. You're right, he would've wanted you to make this review. The way this masterpiece ended and where it left it's characters is just perfect. I'm really going to miss this series, and this story driven era of Disney Channel, but I'm so glad that it happened, and that I got to experience it. I can't praise Dana Terrace and her entire team enough for pulling this off in the face of so, so much corporate meddling. And I'm glad Dana can move on from Disney and live her life now.
@@frostbitedragon9 Yes. For some reason they decided to put emojis under your comment. And of course the most inappropriate one is under the send button.
Man, hearing you talk about “flapjack” is just so bittersweet. It’s tough to lose someone you care about, especially when you’re talking about something you two shared together. I’m really glad you’re able to push on and do something you know would make him happy. Rest in Peace Patrick, and happy (late) Birthday 💜
@@Splatsuma me too, i felt the pain and relatability he showed in his voice when talking about Flapjack and honestly it really hit me hard in the heart. Rest in piece Patrick
At first I thought the tribute to flapjack was a bit you were doing but as soon as I realized I started to sob uncontrollably. I am truly sorry and may Patrick rest in peace. I wish them a happy birthday.
The “Flapjack” analogy was such a beautiful way to thank Patrick for all he’s done. I’m glad to hear you’re slowly healing Schaff, and of course, happy birthday Patrick
This show and Amphibia really got me through the pandemic not gonna lie. It helps when you basically form your entire online presence around them though lol. Gonna miss this era of Disney animation, it was a fantastic experience.
I am looking forward to the new era of Disney animation, though. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is already in my top 5 Disney shows, right up there with Owl House and Amphibia
Is this the shortest TV season ever? The only one I can think of is Ed Edd n Eddy Season 6. It wasn't great, but at least it had less problems than Season 5 and I always thought wasn't as bad as fans say it was. The alien episode was great, the dance episode was also great and was one of the rare times the Eds do nothing wrong and get rewarded for it. And the episode it was paired off with was okay. Not as memorable, except the "snow job" joke. But at least they quit making season 6 in favor of making one of the best cartoon finales next to this one! Edit after watching video: Happy birthday Patrick!
@@UnsaidLies I googled it and in late Jan, James Patrick and Chris were in a bad car wreck and James was the sole survivor (he was hospitalized). I sincerely hope James doesn't blame himself or has survivor guilt because he doesn't need that in this time of sorrow 😥
I really loved how, in today's redemption-happy media landscape, The Owl House draws an important distinction: The Collector gets redeemed because they're a confused kid. They deserve a chance at forgiveness, they're given it, and they take it. They acknowledge the error of their ways and try to make things right. Belos, on the other hand, is a genocidal bigot. There's no attempt to redeem him, because his crimes are unforgivable. He's killed, as is right and just. And they explicitly call out the distinction: he never wanted to protect anyone, he just wanted the world to fit a certain mold, of his choosing.
It's good to preach forgiveness and redemption, but you need to keep in mind that some people will refuse to change and only cause more harm the next chance they get. In some cases, the crimes committed are so bad, it becomes *amoral* to even _try_ to redeem them.
@@Blue-Apple-fc9eo And then he dies. Even if Vader survived the Emperor, he would have *so many* lives to answer for. Life imprisonment, if not execution would have awaited him.
@@commonviewer2488 But didn’t luke forgive vader and cries when he dies and he is an big believe in redemption and there is no way luke would have let anyone arrest his father
@@Blue-Apple-fc9eo It's a testament to Luke's virtue how he absolutely would want to help his father, but it wouldn't be up to him alone. Vader was the right-hand man of a Sith Lord who terrorized the galaxy for decades. They can't have every commanding officer of the Empire stand trial with Vader as the exception. The best compromise Luke could possibly argue would be for Vader to be detained at the site of the new Jedi Temple. A fancy cage, but a cage nonetheless.
The opening about Flapjack confused me, as I thought it was a joke, but then the end part made me finally understood what was really going on and wow… what a touching tribute. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Can you explain? because this is the first video of theirs I'm watching related to TOH (which I'm surprised that they watch) and I thought the Flapjack thing was also a gag
@@anisa3962 “Flapjack” is a stand in for Patrick, his brother who passed in a car crash earlier this year. He was in the other three vids discussing The Owl House as well, as well as a lot of other vids on the channel
I'm sorry Patrick didn't get to live to see how the Owl House concluded. He would've loved seeing the cast getting their happy ending. Seeing Belos finally getting his long awaited karma. Seeing it all end beautifully despite season 3 being cut short. Just know, that the memories you shared with Patrick, about how you both loved this show, will always stay with you. Patrick will never be forgotten. Also, happy birthday to Patrick. Really hope he's resting easy up there in the Afterlife.
I had no clue about Patrick and wasn’t sure what was going on so I did some research, and as soon as I read about the crash I started tearing up. This channel has been a huge part of my life and as I read about the crash I thought about all of the edited by ya boy Pat sections I’ve seen and how much of an effect he has had on my life and has shaped who I am. Happy birthday Patrick.
It's really depressing to see that Season 3 of The Owl House's story was dealt such a bad hand, and that its story was cut short sooner than it deserved. But even if it's over, you still have those seasons to reminisce in the time you spent with it. Those happy moments, sad moments, chaotic moments, and hell, even the boring moments, because it's thanks to them for making them happen. And now, it's thanks to you that your other friends, family, and even your audience can hear about these moments for themselves so that this story is never forgotten, and even if it's concluded, it'll continue touching the hearts of others. Happy birthday, Patrick.
Honestly, for as depressing as it is that the show got shorted I think they did very well. It isn't perfect but it does a great job at giving characters the ending they all deserved.
I noticed the "Flapjack" analogy almost instantly, and it made me tear up for the whole video. Happy birthday Patrick, and thank you for all the happiness you brought us ❤
Happy birthday Patrick. I didn’t know much about them, but I’ve been a fan of the channel for a long time, and I know they contributed a lot to the magic here. I’m glad the owl house means so much to so many people out there, including the brothers behind this channel that makes me smile. It’s amazing to think Dana Terrace fought so hard for this show to be aired and even made it this special to people of all ages and backgrounds despite the limitations. Even though I didn’t know Patrick, it’s cool we liked the same show. It’s cool you’ll always have that with them. Art is wonderful like that.
The moment I realize who is Schaffrillas actually paying tribute to using flapjack's image it got me tearing up immediately. The amazing memories of Patrick on this journey will always be cherished. Happy birthday, Patrick.
Happy Birthday, Patrick. Also, the ending of this video really hits very hard, I’m deeply sorry for your loss of Chris and Patrick. Thank you so much for giving us good memories and impacting so much potential into this channel, you’re legends that will never be forgotten. Rest well, Chris, Patrick, and Flapjack too! ❤
I was confused for a moment when it came to flapjack, until I realized what you were talking about. You're so incredibly strong for doing this, and everything you've done since then. I'm sure that they're proud of you. Happy Birthday Patrick
God, I'm so sorry for your loss. "Flapjack" meant the world and back to a lot of us watching too. I'm glad the two of you were able to introduce so many of us to this beautiful series.
Using Flapjack as a stand-in for Patrick made me tear up. It fits the video and also hits me right in the soul. Thank you for showing this show to us all, James. Happy birthday, Patrick 💛
Hearing how on the verge of tears you were on made me start crying. I haven’t cried as hard as I did since I lost my mother to cancer 5 years back. Happy Birthday Patrick, you will be remembered by all those who love you.
The beginning and the ending hit me unexpectedly hard. I do hope you're doing well James. And if Patrick is hearing this, then we all wish him a Happy Birthday. And we'll continue to cross the journey of life in high spirits
“It’s thanks to them I even started watching this show.” I’m so sorry for your loss Schaff. I’m so happy you were able to make the video regardless, I always love hearing your reviews. Hope you’re doing well and happy late birthday to Patrick. My he rest in peace.
Happy birthday Patrick, thank you for getting me into The Owl House and thank you for giving us amazing videos. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to incorporate Patrick into this video but the fact that you did proves how much you love him. Flapjack deserved better, but Hunter would have never been the person he is today without him.
Happy Birthday Patrick. As a brother myself, I can't imagine how hard it must be having lost him. He was your best friend...and now all that's left is to cherish the memories you made together...Godspeed Schaffrillas. Somewhere up there, Patrick is smiling down from Heaven seeing how far you've come. Things may never be the same, but we have to keep moving forward. It's what he would have wanted. May you stay strong through all of this. Thank you for being a wonderful creator.
The entire Luz's "death" scene had me in tears. Especially when the Collector finally realized what death really means to mortals, and that he couldn't fix her when she "broke". You know the part where he asks "What is this stuff? Why won't it stop?" The first time seeing this, I thought he was talking about Belos' corruption blight, but I now I feel more like he was talking about his tears, as it's the first time he ever felt grief. Another example of the incredible writing on this show.
@Wednesday 🅥 a genuinely emotional comment was the worst thing to have a shitty bot comment on. to the bots creator(s), fuck you for ruining a moment of grief and sadness. Happy birthday Patrick
Hey, I know I’m a bit late, but my little brother just passed away a month ago, and coming back to this made me sob like a child again because I feel your pain so deeply. It never gets easier, we just learn to live with it. I hope that you take encouragement from knowing that you are one of the best brothers ever and your brother could never have asked for a better sibling. For both our flapjacks, we need to live. Keep it up man, you’re doing amazing.
Im well aware you don’t know me but know you have someone hoping the best for you. Please be gentle with yourself, and know that you cannot predict the things you’ll feel or say or do. Your mind and body will react how it needs to. Just felt the need to say something, as someone i loved passed away very suddenly recently and I know very well that you need as much support as possible in these times. Keep your head up
I'm sure Patrick is watching you from above and smiling at you being able to finish the show and making this review. You using flapjack's death as a mouthpeice for your own trauma is truly heartwrenching and I hope you continue to get better and heal. And happy birthday to Patrick Owl House is a wonderful show and I'm glad I got to watch it and how much good it did for me and so many other people
Spoilers for the video: The reveal that the Speech of Flapjack and Hunter was a metaphor for Patrick and Shaf hit me like a god damn truck. That made me immediately rewatch the video to take in the true meaning of what you were saying. It's honestly beautiful and brings a tear to my eye. Happy Birthday, Patrick. Cheers, man.
It really is that episode where Dana and the crew realized "oh crap we have to give at least some closure to Kikimora and these random Hexside characters who were barely in Season 2"
@samt3412 tbh Kikimora had a raw ass scene for her character closure in the S2 finale, I think she was by far the least necessary addition to For the Future and her reappearance in it actually devalued the gravity of what could of been a much better send-off. Disappointing waste of time imo, but Camilla's kikimiki line was good
That flapjack analogy was very heartbreaking, it was fun seeing you two gush and talk about this show. What a video this was. Happy Birthday Patrick, we'll always remember you.
I think this show means so much to so many people on different levels. From love and loss this show can truly show the care people have for those we have and those we’ve lost. We don’t forget but we remember those who’ve made that impact. Happy birthday, Patrick
hearing james voice break as he used flapjack as an analogy for patrick, that's what broke me. I am now sobbing 😭 Happy birthday, Patrick!! I hope you're enjoying the finale in the afterlife as much as everyone else is!
One thing I love about Belos' death scene is how in his final moments, you get a nice summary of his entire character. He begins in his human form, but not just any human form, but what he looked like before his body was seriously corrupted by magic. The way he looked when he and Luz first met, when Luz thought he was good. As we know, Belos seems to think that being human makes him morally superior, so he hides behind that belief here, hopes that Luz will show mercy to a fellow human. And he continues to spout lies to her like he does to everyone throughout the series. Then the acid rain falls and his skin begins to melt off revealing his monstrous form underneath. This is literally his true colors being shown. He claims to be human, but deep down, he is not human at all and he hasn't been human for a very long time. And even with his true form on full display, he still clings to this notion of being human and tries to convince Luz to help him simply because they are both humans and that makes them better than the supposedly evil and barbaric witches. This showcases just how hypocritical Belos is. He views the witches as evil monsters and yet he himself is this grotesque monstrosity. Belos throughout the entire show and even in his final moments spouted nothing but lies and believed himself superior to the people of the Boiling Isles simply because he was human when in reality he stopped being human long ago both mentally and physically. To the very end, he was nothing more than a hypocrite that had the gall to call himself human and treat everyone else like monsters. Such an incredible villain and one that deserved the ending he got. Also I think it's amazing how Belos and Luz parallel each other during his death scene. He says they are both humans, but in that moment, neither of them are truly human anymore. They have both been molded by the Boiling Isles, but the world affected them differently. Where Belos was turned into a disgusting pile of goop leeching off of everyone and everything around it, Luz became one with the Isles itself. She wasn't leeching off of the Titan's power, she had been granted it. Where the Boiling Isles ultimately corrupted Belos, turning him into a worse version of who he used to be, Luz became a better person thanks to the Isles. Anyway, yeah, I love that death scene a ton and really wanted to get my thoughts on it out. Rest in peace, Patrick. Happy Birthday.
This series meant so much to me. Gravity Falls was the first series where I actually got to see the ending live. It was the first time I ever cried during a show. And now we have The Owl House, a series from the same folks as Gravity Falls. One that is filled with the same heart and passion. One that got unjustly cancelled and yet somehow managed to give us an amazing finale. The first series to make me cry after a long, long time. So long, Owl House. Thank you. And to Patrick, happy Birthday, where ever you are.
I was already filled with emotions when James made his tribute to Patrick, but knowing that he shares the same birthday as me, that really touched my heart. I hope everything goes well for you James, I wish you, Patrick, and Chris nothing but the best.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It is a true tragedy that Patrick had to pass on far too early. I first heard about the series from the reviews that you two created, and it has become one of my favorite television series ever. Up there with Avatar: The Last Airbender, Gravity Falls, and Steven Universe. I thank both of you for introducing me to this fantastic, weird, and beautiful series. Happy birthday, Patrick. I hope you rest in peace.
This was the first youtube video to ever make me cry. Thank you Patrick for being there to support one of my favorite creators throughout his life. I may have not known you personally, but I am positive you will never be forgotten.
Happy Birthday Patrick. Thank you so much for introducing me to this show that has gotten me through some of the worst times in my life. And thank you on behalf of everyone for the joy you brought and continue to bring to the world. We all love and miss you. ❤
I only showed my brother this show due to you and Patrick, and it's connected with him in such a special way. He's happier and more confident in himself than ever before, because he's seen that he's not alone. He relates to these characters. Thank you - both of you - for reviewing this series. It's really meant a lot to us.
I can't imagine the pain of losing a loved one that close. It hurts to think about all the things that you can't do with someone but at least there are the memories of time spent with them. Happy birthday Patrick.
Hey man, I know exactly what it’s like. January of this year I lost one of my best friends in car accident. I’m still learning how to move on and god knows it’s hard. Hearing about what happened to you so soon after what happened to me broke my heart all over again. You’re videos have always comforted me and I will always be thankful of that. Happy Birthday Patrick, and I’ll always love you Nathan, fly high.
Gosh. That ending man. Thanks for such a fun retrospective series. The show and this channel means a lot to me, I’m so glad you were able to enjoy it. Happy birthday, Patrick. We Miss ya.
Hearing you start to break near the end shattered my heart. You’ve kept so strong for so long after what happened and although today will likely be tough on you, I hope nothing but better days for you and I wish a happy birthday for Patrick
I spent about half an hour trying to think of a long and fancy way to say this, but I’ve come to the conclusion that at least this time, less is more. So happy birthday, Patrick. May your wonderful contributions to this channel, and your own channel, never be forgotten.
Oh boy, the Flapjack analogy was really touching! A beautiful send off to such a funny, passionate person, and a great friend! We'll always be here watching, James! It's what Patrick would have wanted! ❤
Happy birthday, Patrick. You brightened the lives of Schaff and thousands of other people. That joy will always leave a lasting impact on them, myself included. You got taken from us way too soon, but still managed to help so many people in that short amount of time -- many that you don't even know. That kind of positive contribution to the world is one I hope to accomplish someday, and this is a sad reminder that you shouldn't wait to be a benefit to the world. You might wait too long and miss it. Happy birthday and thanks for everything.
This is the first review to ever make me cry and I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm honored to share a birthday month with such an amazing creator. You've all given me the best few years of content I'd ever seen. rest in piece Patrick.
Flapjack's not gone, not truly. He lives on in the the memories and joy he brought us. So long as we remember him, he'll be here. Rest in peace...Flapjack.
Happy birthday Patrick... and James, we're all so proud of you for opening up to us and doing your best to overcome your emotions. You have our love and respect ♡
Happy belated birthday, Patrick. I'd almost forgotten that I started watching The Owl House because of your review series. TOH ended up hitting me a lot harder than I expected it to. I'm autistic and have a broad range of interests like Luz, and it was the first time I saw a show actually accept and embrace the "I want ALL the majors" mindset. It made me feel seen in a way I'd never felt before, even from other shows that are supposed to have neurodiverse representation. And I wouldn't have even seen it if it weren't for the reviews. Thank you, Patrick.
Happy Birthday Patrick. Your presence will always be here, but we’ll all miss you. Thank you for making us laugh with your passion for this silly owl show, and rest easy
Patrick has always had a special place in your channel, and will be remembered for the amazing things he did. Happy Birthday and thank you, Patrick. Rest in Peace.
Oh my goodness, that speech about Flapjack really hit me. The subtext of the speech makes it even more special. It’s okay Schaff. We are living proof that those people who aren’t with us anymore made an impact with their lives, as short as they were. And they will be proud of you when you keep doing what you’re doing.
Happy birthday Patrick. I didn't know you all that well, or at all, but the fact that you brought so much joy and meant so much to James says everything and more. I'm so sorry about what happened to you, but I am glad that through these wonderful and magical shows, that let us dream of greater things, James can always remember some of the amazing times he had with you. Rest in peace.
I can relate to losing people you love before they can see the end to a story. My grandmother and I loved watching RWBY together. It wasn’t the best show, but she was always excited just to spend that time with me. We also loved the HTTYD movies, but we never got to watch the third movie because she was so sick. To this day, I still have yet to watch that final film. It just won’t feel the same without her. I’ll always appreciate that time I had with her, just as I’m sure you appreciated that time with Pat. It gets easier, but the wounds take forever to heal. Even now, I can feel myself tearing up, and it’s been nearly three years now. Thank you for all your work, Schaff. Happy birthday, Pat. Rest easy.
I didn’t realize Patrick was gone until the end of this episode. I thought morning Flapjack was just, part of the review. I am so, so sorry, Schaff. Happy birthday, Patrick. Thank you both for everything.
Patrick (his brother), Chris (his friend) and James (the voice of Schaffrillas) were in a car crash at the end of January and James was the only survivor. 😔
Hearing how much James felt toward his brother almost brought a fucking tear to my eye. Losing a loved one is the most horrible shit that can happen to you, and I think we can all relate to that. Balancing that out with an “image” you have online can be worse, so I understand why James had held it off until now. Happy birthday Patrick, and I hope you rest easy.
man... him talking about his brother, who introduced the show to him, made me emotional! I never expected this channel to talk about this show, but now it just hurts knowing that Patrick will never get to see the end of this show... I wish him a happy birthday, and may James have a long life and all the happiness in the world...
Patrick would’ve loved seeing this ending, I’m sure of it. And I’m sure he’s so proud of you for finishing this wonderful, goofy, groundbreaking show and making this analysis of the final episodes. I don’t know a fancy way to incorporate this into what I’m trying to say, so….Happy late birthday Patrick. Hope you’re resting easy in heaven. 💖
The're 2 details I absolutely love about this end: If you look close at when Luz dies and King goes rage mode, he casts a Glyph bubble similar to the one Luz uses in her titan form. However, unlike Luz's bubble, King's uses his unique glyph set, including the Light Glyph he draws at the end of the episode. Also, there's an interesting bit of dramatic irony in Belos's death scene. He specifically says the line "We're humans. We're better than this." in the moment where neither of them are actually truly human.
'We're human, we're better than this' has all the energy of a white supremacist screaming at a white kid with a BLM sign that he's 'betraying his race'.
I’ll be honest I don’t follow you on socials, so I only just found out about your loss. I’m so sorry, I’ve watched your content for years and it’s always been fun to watch your thoughts and you’ve really influenced some of my opinions on movies and tv. Thank you, and my sincerest and deepest condolences.
This might actually be one of the best videos Schaffrillas has ever made. It’s hard for me to cry at a TH-cam video, but man this one hits so hard. Happy Birthday Patrick, and thank you for introducing me to one of my favorite pieces of fiction ever.
Happy birthday Patrick. He was honestly really funny and the dynamic of these brothers was very sweet. I can hardly imagine losing my brother and the pain that would bring to me. Rest in peace Patrick and Flapjack.
I don’t know what to say about Patrick. Memoriams were never my strong point. Happy birthday Patrick. Let what you provided to this channel never be forgotten.
It's tragic when you lose a loved one, even more so when it's sudden and you can't prepare yourself for that moment of understanding what it truly means for them to be gone. I can't give much more than my condolences and my deepest sympathy, and my hope that you will find a way through this heartbreaking moment of your life. On a solemn note, I'm not sure if you noticed, since you didn't mention it in the video, but I'd like to point out that the Owl House gang all got tattoos of Flapjack after the finale, showing not only how they will always remember him, but that he will always be with them as well. Nothing can replace what you lost, but there are way to make sure they are never forgotten. Lastly, happy birthday Patrick, I hope you rest in peace.
I can't believe what a miracle Season 3 was. Despite everything, it still managed to get the story done at a (slightly rushed but still overall) spectacular pace. I'm sure Patrick is enjoying the show from the inbetween. Happy birthday, Patrick.
Happy birthday Patrick. I am so sorry, it was you two who got me into this show. I’ve shed tears multiple times watching this gem of a show and the finale was no exception, so I thank you both for introducing me to a show I had ignored and now love
Happy birthday Patrick. I just found out today of what happened, because of this video. At first I was confused but then I read the comments and my heart sank. I am so truly sorry for what happened, I don't know what to say. I never knew him personally, but I always thought of your brother as an incredibly funny and caring person. I loved watching videos with him and I'm devastated he couldn't participate in this one. Take your time to heal, we will always be there to support you. Lastly, I want to thank you both from the bottom of my heart for helping me get through a difficult time in my life, you helped me so much with your jokes and I'm thankful for every second of these videos. Thank you, really, from an Italian fan
I’ve never had a meaningful death in my life, but hearing James talk about Patrick like that, it almost brought me to tears, it really puts things in perspective, RIP Patrick, Happy Birthday mate
@@isaacfoley6728 Thanks man, I hope you’re doing ok as someone who has had a meaningful loss, I rewatched that end segment not too long ago and this time it actually made me shed a tear, cos this ain’t a fictional character death, it’s all real, Patrick didn’t deserve to die so young
The Owl House truly feels like a show where grief is one of the core themes. It doesn't say to ignore it, and it never says it goes away. It just says if you can find some weirdos to stick with, you can find a support system that makes that grief a little easier to handle, and embrace as a piece of you. It meant a lot to me to have seen so many characters handle their grief in different ways but always manage to reach the same conclusion. Happy Birthday Patrick.
This entire channel has made me infinitely less insecure about how often I ramble about cartoons and animated movies and how important they matter to me. I hope you're doing well wherever you are. Thank you for this channel. I feel so much more confident in myself and my abilities as a writer.
This show ment so much to me as a ''wierd kid''. It gave me so many things that I never knew I needed. It was great while it happend and it's awful when it's gone. We miss you Flapjack and Happy Birthday Patrick. Fly high.

Happy birthday Patrick ❤ you'll be missed by us all... And thank you for bringing this amazing show into my life it means so much to me and it's all thanks to you. So thank you :) Ps: hooty is the best character I'll love my little tube boy forever ❤
With the limited amount of time they had to finish their story, the team of wonderful people who created The Owl House went out on a high note. It's a shame that he never got to see the ending, but I think he would have loved it. Happy Birthday Patrick.
You’re a strong person James, to have your heart utterly broken but having the fortitude to solider on, I absolutely have nothing but admiration. Your heart will heal in time, and I know Patrick would be proud that his big brother is continuing forward, and I hope he has a happy birthday wherever he is 🥲
This show has left such a huge impact on television, and just like Flapjack, it brought joy to our hearts. Thank you to both Dana and Schaff, and happy birthday to Patrick.
That’s the thing. While a full season would’ve been nice, I’m satisfied that we still got a proper ending despite the show being shortened It left the characters in a good place, which is what everyone wanted
Even do I prefer Amphibia I feel like the show as a whole has grown so much from s1. I feel like s1 was bad and s2 has fixed most of my issues in just a couple episodes. Sure there were some problems in s2 but I could honestly get over them. S3 was good but I felt like the second episode really hurt it as a whole. But when it comes to it this show brought me to better shows and made me meet so many friends and communities. Even after all of it's problems I still like the show and can give it a 7/10. Amphibia is a 8.5 btw
@@Neganirloth Amphibia and The Owl House are equally great shows for different reasons imo. However... You say S1 of TOH was bad, but I think Amphibia's first season was kinda worse. While a lot of episodes in S1 of Amphibia became relevant in some way around S3, S1 could've trimmed the fat with just the episodes that weren't important in any way in terms of world building and character growth for Anne. TOH was a decently better paced show because it didn't have twice the amount of filler that Amphibia did. But on the other hand, the cast in Amphibia are a bit more fleshed out than the ones in TOH. Anne is emotionally a stronger protagonist than Luz, and her connection with the Plantar family feels a lot more natural. But Luz is a lot more of a compelling MC compared to Anne. An example of what I mean is how after all the events in S2 finale of Amphibia, one would think Anne would emotionally breakdown or something with a lot of emotional baggage she had to carry, but instead the writers just kinda shrugged those problems off as a light-hearted joke. Meanwhile, the TOH crew made Luz's baggage towards everything she's experienced in S2B a lot more realistic. To the point where it made her something of an empty former shell of herself in S3 until her talk with Camilla in For the Future. Again, it really is hard for me to say which show I like better because they both offer something great and unique on the table. Both are 9/10s for me.
@@The_Admiral_Angel While I agree s1 of amphibia isn't very good I feel like it establishes the characters and develops them. In s1 Anna grows from a monster in people's eyes, to a celebrity and than a Town hero. I feel like luz in s1 is very generic and with most of the characters not really developing in s1 it makes season 1 feel a lot more generic. King has basically no development in s1(but this could be my bias since I hate King And hooty for the most part). And Gus and Willow are just there and are really generic, and None of Willow's problems get resolved though the whole series, do I actually like gus and like how s2 handled him. The characters I definetly like the most are Eda and Amity. Even do I think amity's character arc is a bit too rushed. S1 toh have some gems hidden behind the surface but the rest of the s1 really has no standouts, even do it does have some good episodes most are generic stuff like Luz goes to witch school, Luz wants to go on an epic adventure, luz goes to a witch convention(even Do I like the Ending of that episode), Luz gets bodyswapped and so on. Also s1 has plot points like Buscha and Amity which don't get resolved at all through the show and it breezes over them. Also Belos is so generic here, he is just a normal bad guy until s2 and s3. I feel like s2 is a bit step up both in writing and in terms of pacing. We get introduced too hunter who has a wonderfull arc and is overall a great character. We finally get some light on gus. We Explore way more of Belos and Lilith who are now their own characters and not just generic. Luz feels a lot better here than season 1, I expecially love the episode where luz talks about her dad with amity. Eda is still great and Willow is still undevelopted. I love some New characters like Darious, Raine, Hunter.. Also s2 I admit has more serious topics than Amphibia s2 but I think more of them are more mature this time around, both amphibia and toh s2 have some gut punching episodes which actually made me shed a tear at some points. The collector isn't really anything special imo and Belos feels like a way better villian. The last episode of toh s2 and amphibia s2 are both good imo but True Colors definetls hits harder. It feels unfair to compare amphibia s3 and toh s3 because was limited to only three episodes. If toh would have gotteb a full s3 it would almodt definetly be better than amphibia
@@Neganirl I do agree that the first Season of The Owl House is rather basic, I still kinda prefer it over Amphibia's due to the pacing. Like, did we really need episodes like Sprig forcing Mrs. Croaker to like him? The entire town starting a fandom war over a movie? Or Sprig becoming kind of a jerk to everyone in town because someone stole his shell?
Hey, Patrick. I'm sorry I'm giving my wishes and thanks a year late, but happy birthday. And thank you for your part in getting me into The Owl House. Rest well.

I feel like episode 2 allowed the side characters’ epilogue conclude nicely rather than randomly appearing like “oh yeah forgot they in the show”
It really is that episode where Dana and the crew realized "oh crap we have to give at least some closure to Kikimora and these random Hexside characters who were barely in Season 2"

Happy birthday, Patrick!!
I love how they were hinting that Belos would become another reformed and misunderstood villain but that was (literally) stomped out quickly LOL

Jesus Christ the beginning actually hit me hard considering what happened love you James and wish you the best. RIP and happy birthday Patrick
Nearly made me cry. I wish I could give James and his family a huge hug!
Happy birthday to Patrick :(
James is awesome. I can’t thank him enough for all the great videos he’s made. Just hope for the best for him going forward.
@@Bonesnake8699 Happy Birthday!
that flapjack part hits me in the gut, he will be missed, they both will💛
@Wednesday 🅥 stop
why did she have to ruin the mourning about flapjack?!
the ending of this video also made me cry and have a moment of silence again... and they indeed will be missed... 😔😢
The're 2 details I absolutely love about this end:
If you look close at when Luz dies and King goes rage mode, he casts a Glyph bubble similar to the one Luz uses in her titan form.

Happy birthday Patrick
This might actually be one of the best videos Schaffrillas has ever made. It’s hard for me to cry at a TH-cam video, but man this one hits so hard. Happy Birthday Patrick, and thank you for introducing me to one of my favorite pieces of fiction ever.
Happy birthday Patrick. He was honestly really funny and the dynamic of these brothers was very sweet. I can hardly imagine losing my brother and the pain that would bring to me. Rest in peace Patrick and Flapjack.
Happy birthday Patrick. We will always remember what you did for this channel and for everyone.
Wait what happened to Patrick???...
@@drdovaqueen He passed in a car accident, along with their friend Chris Schaffer
I’ve never had a meaningful death in my life, but hearing James talk about Patrick like that, it almost brought me to tears, it really puts things in perspective, RIP Patrick, Happy Birthday mate
im glad you've never had to go through that yet and hope you never do and from someone who has, that part felt all a bit too real
That tribute to Flapjack made me cry, it's really amazing how you are soldiering on without him.
Happy birthday Patrick, you will deeply missed by everyone here. Thank you so much for introducing me to such a fun and amazing show ❤️
This show ment so much to me as a ''wierd kid''. It gave me so many things that I never knew I needed. It was great while it happend and it's awful when it's gone. We miss you Flapjack and Happy Birthday Patrick. Fly high.

@@throwawaw5129 Patrick is his brother who sadly passed away recently
Hearing Schaff about to cry when he was talking about Patrick at the end broke me. May he rest in peace.
Same I cried so much at the end
R.I.P
If the team managed to make such a solid finale while having to rush it, imagine if they got a full season like they wanted
That’s the thing.
While a full season would’ve been nice, I’m satisfied that we still got a proper ending despite the show being shortened
It left the characters in a good place, which is what everyone wanted
Rest well.
