I also like ur analysis on how Ody was seen as smart and wise until the odyssey and its perfect you made that during this song bc I feel like this is a turning point for that arc. His friend is telling him to abandon his inhibition and lead with his hear as opposed to his mind, which is why Warrior of the Mind follow this where Athena is like "hey cut that out".
I don't understand why every time there's an optimist character people assume they are naive, that's not true at all, they are often very brave and wise, just because you try to see the good side of things doesn't mean you ignore signs of danger or let yourself be manipulated, Polites was trying to make him relax because the stress and trauma were really doing bad for Odysseus mental health, but relaxing a bit doesn't mean having blind trust that everything will go well without effort, it's just about stopping to see hostility where there isn't any and stop being so hard on yourself, which is something Odysseus desperately needs.
But to be fair, this song points out that Polites was being naive in what he chose to believe and then influenced Odysseus. He didn't question anything and just went with the first thing he was told. While keeping your pov from negativity is very important, Polites was a bit too much to the other extreme
I think it’s so interesting that you’re both getting an eerie feeling from the sounds in the very beginning. I just hear regular jungle sounds 🤔
With captain they are addressing Odysseus (also raining King of Ithika)
yalls faces when the lotus-eaters came in was priceless! 😂😂
