How wonderful - Fr Daniel answered all my questions and struggles in trying to live prayer as a disposition. To hear again that I am loved as I am now and not as I want to be or think I should be is life-giving. Inspiring to know that if I keep to my daily silent prayer, the transformation is taking place. Loving those I am with and who are closest to me is the way to live out the fruits of this transforming prayer. I met Fr Daniel when he came to Scotland - he exudes the gentle love of Christ. The young friars who have presented this podcast on Carmelite prayer have done a wonderful job in the spirit of Teresa and John. Thank you so very much.
This podcast was God sent to me, I almost give in to despair for I feel like I wasted time again and not doing my work to God. I prayed to the Holy Spirit and I found this... moved me to tears. GOD BLESS YOU, FR DANIEL AND YOUNG FRIAR. I pray that this video reaches many hearts and turn to God. ST TERESA OF AVILA, pls pray for us. 🙏
Me too..I feel like a judas. God wants to love me. He already knows me. I need to know him..please pray for me before another 20yrs pass and I will have never had known my God. He made me for a reason. I want to love him back with my life. Pray for me please 🙏
Hello, I just want to say that these videos are the best and they are so helpful to me and speak to my life. There's so much Catholic divisiveness on the internet, if only the Church would listen to your videos then she could be healed by love.
This podcast is such a blessing. I enjoy reading too, but it's hard to find the time to do as much of that with a full time job. But while I'm getting ready, or on a drive, or eating lunch, I can listen to you guys insightfully discuss spiritual Carmelite material I would like to read but haven't been able to get to, and you add your own Carmelite experiences and reflections to it too. Truly a blessing. Thank you :)
What I got from it was, living out prayer in our daily lives, walking the 8 steps of the Beatitudes and living out love in prayer form or prayer form done in love, it can be a prayerful life and bring prayer to life, to show it, live it, give it
Fr Daniel explained Prayer better than any I've heard. He elaborated in a way that made prayer easier to understand rather than making it more complicated. Thank you so much!!
I suppose the friendship aspect of prayer is why I think so many of us are weary of the centring prayer stuff, it makes it some method to break into the contemplative realm rather than a relationship which grows and to which God eventually bestows the gift of Infused prayer.
Thank you Father Daniel. Your exposition on st Theresa of Jesus life s work is enriching. There is so much I need to know in my interior life and St Theresa has taught me how to pray better in friendship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
I so enjoyed hearing such precious insights on Saint Theresa of Avila, who is one of the Saints of the Catholic Church whose poems really gave a kind and powerful acceleration to my conversion to Christ. Thank you, Fathers!
Thank you, fathers! This is exactly what I need at this stage in my prayer life. May God be praised, and may God bless you and all the work that you do!🙏🙌
These conversations are so rich and fruitful. Truly an intimate sharing with friends, helping us demystify the apparent divide between life and prayer. Thank you!
Thankyou for this teaching. I am Living in the Divine will (Luisa Piccarreta) now but do struggle with Prayer apart from Rosary Mass & Divine Mercy chaplet🇦🇺🙏🌹🎶✝️
Hoping it won't be a long wait for the next series! Not that I couldn't stand to relisten to this one again and again, but these are great. Also, the 30 minute length is great for use in community formation times for our OCDS community. :)
Thank you 🙏🏻 so much….. I really really need this now….. I’m going through dryness in my prayers and lacking fervor, as I used to have….. 😢😢💔💔 Okay listening now from California- 🙏🏻🙏🏻💔🚂🇺🇸🕊️
Hello. Recently I had trouble to pray. I would like to share my experience how to overcome this dryness - go to TH-cam and listen everything what you find regarding the praying like this video. I see that my efforts and willingness for change of such stagnation coming to its fruition ❤️💓💞 Thank you for your channel
Prayer said from our hearts to His Heart is VERY powerful. And God will Answer in His time and His way and in His will. We may Not understand always.., but sometimes He gives us something Better than what we asked for. So we have to have perfect TRUST in His timing and know that He heard us😊
I hope you see this message. I have been struggling with mental prayer for almost 20 years now. And i still find it to be a chore to be done with. I realise it's beauty, it's importance for virtue, it's necessity to stay in grace and will of God. And yet it's a challenge for me to be faithful in mental prayer. I have always been drawn to Carmelite spirituality. I'm so happy i found this channel. But a living, talking person to guide you is still very important. Can we have anyone of you as a spiritual director?
If only I heard this year's ago. I pray God would open doors so I can rejoin society and put these virtues into Practice. I am isolated in the country and can't afford to move.
This was so helpful. I’ve been working at this since my reversion six years ago and there’s so much I learn each time I listen or read her. I’ve always had problems doing things instead of praying but just recently God let me understand that prayer like this is a way of life and sometimes just being social is prayer ie last Saturday was my confirmand’s party and it was an all day affair. I knew I wouldn’t have time for personal prayer but remembered that being there for him and his family was more important. Is there some time you could do a Live Q & A? 😊
After three years of discipling his disciples, at his last Passover with them, Jesus called them his friends, and no longer considered them servants. He changed them for the better. He prepared them to receive his Holy Spirit who would complete their transformation. This transformation is the telos for our prayer life, for our reading and studying Scripture, for our relationship with Christ. The soul gets transformed for the better by didactic instruction, but only up to a point. It further gets transformed when the reason rests in contemplative prayer. After the soul's reason does its part (discipleship), it can come to rest, allowing the soul's awareness to heighten, being no longer distracted by the reason's imaginations, to observe the heart of the soul. The illnesses in the heart get illuminated. Once illuminated, the heart can heal (katharsis). Once the heart is healed, it no longer inordinately drives the reason nor distracts the awareness. The heart or core of the soul healed, the reason or logos of the soul at sabbath rest, the soul at peace or shalom or whole, the awareness or spirit of the soul communes with the Spirit of God (theosis).
I pray intercessionary prayers for blessed Mary to God our heavenly father for additional Grace's & powers for her!! It feel so very much to pray intercessionary prayers for blessed Mary!! Sometimes I just ask God our heavenly father to bless blessed Mary with a dozen long stem roses, just so blessed Mary can say ,when the saints and angels ask blessed Mary, what the occasion is;& blessed Mary can say with a womans warm smile, " No occasion '! Just one of my sons on earth wanted to bring me some joy today "!! Prayers are a way to get out of your problems and practice the virtue of charity!! It brings me great joy to pray intercessionary prayers for blessed Mary, who always prays for all of us!!! Try it& I don't know why, but blessed Mary blessings increase & I don't pray to get anything, just to bless ,blessed Mary!!
1. "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life." (John 14:6) 2. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7) 3. "You will know them by their fruits." (Matthew 7:16) " The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (Galatians 5:22)
The normal mode of living is not to pray.. And, there are many people on earth who don't pray for various reasons. So, numbers-wise, prayer is not normal. That must mean God had that in His mind. Why then, is there so much emphasis on what a small number of people feel we should be doing?
My mom left Catholicism because there was too much ritual that man has made. She became a baptist Is which teach just the bible no Is rituals that man made
One day, He may reveal to you that we are invited to more intimate union with Blessed Jesus in the Holy Sacraments of His Church... than through anything else that we may do with the time He allots us on earth+
If she said it was a female, then take her at her word...to say that other scholars think it was a male. So what does mean when you say such thing, father? You're insinuating that Saint Teresa wasn't honest, that she said "female" friend to make her look good.. I've read one of the biography of St Teresa by a female author wh9 suggested that she somehow lost the purity through that incident...so please becareful how you phrase it.
Wow, dear soul! Best for us always to try to keep in mind that the one & only fully (and merely) human being that ever was (& is) 100% sinless is: The Most Holy Virgin Mary - and that is only because of her Immaculate Heart - in Mystical & Total Union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus+❤️🔥✨👑
Please subscribe to our channel so that you don't miss our next season this Fall. God bless you!

I'd be a little skeptical of that.

You can rejoice in this dryness, if you pray as you can, for this is His way of strengthening the virtues of faith, hope, and love in you.

What is the title please?!❤😊
Peace. 'We can't change ourselves' ...perhaps need to elaborate. God doesn't change.
How can I find other episodes? TH-cam? At what number of episode does Teresa of Avila start? Or this series on prayer?
Hi Dana. You can find all of our vidoes here: www.youtube.com/@ICSPublications/videos

ICS: Three questions - What is life? What is prayer? And are you speaking by the Spirit of God or by the flesh?
1. "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life." (John 14:6)
2. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
3. "You will know them by their fruits." (Matthew 7:16) " The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (Galatians 5:22)
What if you are dying.?
