They’re lucky their kids called super nanny and not CPS.
Cps was actually called not long after and all the kids were taken the parents divorced, the two girls are doing amazing and the boys live with the mom idk much about them though
I do often wonder on some of the more extreme cases like this one, how often CPS gets involved after seeing these episodes. Yes, they're edited to show the worst, but, if it's happening it's happening.

Crazy how no one is commenting on how abusive the Dad is......the teen girls are clearly scared of him, and he has no reaction to his daughter passing out right in front of his eyes.
Yup. The entire time I looked at him, he had this "I'll unleash hell once we're alone"- face. Gave me the chills.

this is unfortunately stull during the time where dad was brought up to wear the pants in the family and rule with an iron fist. because of what he has in his pants. my father was like that and i was so obedient because even if i didnt id get slapped around.

I've seen so many episodes but this one really breaks my heart, especially when the oldest daughter sobbed uncontrollably when Jo left.
It always makes me mad when one of the parents start crying, as if it isn't their fault.

Both girls knew nothing was going to change! When Jo was leaving Brittany was heartbroken! Both parents will revert as before, you could see that from "scene one"! Shame on THEM! Yet they keep procreating! CPS should be called immediately!!

And it's heartbreaking that she was absolutely right. Anyone who can read human behavior from words and gestures even mildly could tell that those sick slave owners did their best to play nice, out on an act yet passive-aggressively elude everything that Jo wanted and avoid any significant change at all cost.
well, considering it wasn't the parent that called looking for help on how to do better, im not surprised they girls had those thoughts. Cant say i blame them either sadly
This aired 14yrs ago.... They're grown and LONG gone. From what I understand.... One took off to New York and one to the military..both married now.

Its not only sad for the girls, it's also extremely sad for the toddlers who need discipline, attention, education, love from parents. The sisters can't give all that. They're litterely surviving... All the children will face consequences because of this. Not just the girls.

For real! For the observation, the dad was quite literally absent and did nothing for the kids. What’s even worse is the girls are doing this childcare for free, usually if you have Nannies or babysitters watching kids like this, they’re getting paid…

How does CPS work? They just pop in once or twice and if things are good then that's it? I can't imagine every family gets the observation time it truly needs
@@cottoncandiez8872in my experience, i cannot speak for everyone because i’ve heard many stories with different experiences, they would come in every few weeks for few years to check up on me and my sister but tbh it wasn’t very helpful as i was quite young to understand and it was only for like 10-30 minutes, but i’ve heard from many people that they haven’t been helpful at all and sometimes CPS will ignore the children but sometimes the children can get taken away from the household 🫶 hope this is helpful :)

The “mother” cant even look super nanny in the eyes when they talk. She knows what she is doing is completely wrong.
Even with that, and not excusing any behaviours, I much preffer her response to the dad's. He doesnt seem ashamed at any point, as if this was not his problem at all. They are both working so he can't just say 'i am not there, i am working'. If the girls are taking care of the children the least they could do was make the chores when they are back home, and that would not even be enough.
It’s good to have children pitch in.. but that’s with guidance from parents.

It's so obvious the parents pulled the girls out of mainstream school and into an online school to watch the three youngest.

Its not only to watch the kids, its to avoid contact to outside of the family, to never let them see how bad it is at home, to also avoid CPS. Also to clean, take care of the household, take care of kids and school.
Also to completely cut them off from other kids their age. When Jo said "there's even time for you to go hang out with friends!" I was like... do they have friends? They're like never allowed out anyway, how would they make friends? Especially when they don't relate to other kid's lives when they're basically parents themselves. It's so, so sad

The 17 year old seriously has dark circles around her eyes. She LOOKS tired and exhausted. This is truly heartbreaking. I hope these girls got away from their terrible, abusive parents and are doing better today.
This is probably the saddest thing I've ever seen on this show. These young kids are suffering, and so are these teenagers. These parents are so selfish and awful.

After appearing on television, Sara and Glenn were investigated for child neglect. The couple ended up getting divorced, with Sara remarrying. Both girls left home as soon as possible, with Moriah moving to live in New York and get married and Brittany going into the army, getting married, and now has three children of her own.

I am soooo freaking relieved to read this (if true). I wanted those girls out of that abusive environment ASAP. Child Services should have arrested them or whatever they have power to do for abusing their children. Shame some idiot married the mother, she was as bad as the father. I hope the girls didn't marry some *sshole as many girls from terrible fathers do.

This is exactly how I grew up. I didn't go out with friends. I moved out as soon as I turned 18, 1 month after my birthday. I speak to my dad on ocassion (once every 2 months) but I don't have any connection with my step mother. I do miss my brothers at times, but I don't want to feel guilty for leaving.
"Hey girls were going to have 3 more kids and your going to raise them. Have fun!"
I can't believe how snappy the mom got about the daughter "not doing her chores". That kind of nitpicking in household duties isn't about maintaining order or cleanliness, its about feeling in control.

The look of concern on Supernanny’s face when she told the teens she was on her way brought me to tears. Said so much on so many levels. God bless her 😢
When Jo at the end asked how the daughter’s are feeling and she said ok tells me she didn’t feel ok at all… she said Jo was her hero and she looked up to her tells me she was feeling horrible that Jo was leaving and for sure she believe things will go back to the same abusive situations.

Very sad you can tell the girls were so scared for Jo to leave. They knew it was only for the cameras. It hurts my heart to see. It's hard to see for the boys too. They act up and scream and throw fits because they want the attention of their parents.

Watching that part was so heartbreaking. Those poor kids didn’t ask to be teenage parents but that’s what’s being forced on them and it’s very sad to see.
My boys were in Junior High when they finally said, "Mom, we can read." I always read to them at bedtime. Bath at 7:30, Bed at 8:30 with reading. I was in bed at 9:30 so I could read my own favorite books. They both got up in the morning, ate breakfast while watching cartoons and the go to the bus stop. I feeel so blessed.
If this is how their family is with cameras and microphones, I cant even begin to imagine their life without them....
Exactly. I suspect the parents did indeed revert back and leave it all to their daughters. I wouldn't be surprised if both girls left home as soon as possible and never bothered with their parents again

The most painful part is that mom throws the towel in immediately, knowing that the girls don’t get to do that. They don’t get to throw their hands up and say “I’m done”, because then no one takes care of these three kids. They’re being punished for being born older. They didn’t choose to be older sisters.
In fact, the girls appeared to be endlessly patient and loving with their brothers. That really says something about the character of the girls and the irresponsibility of the parents.
They didn't choose to have those kids so why do they have to take care of them? It's ridiculous imo

The saddest Supernanny episode I've seen. Poor girls. Britney passed out after her parents refused to recognize that she does the entire house chores at home. I think she is scared of them to death and can't believe they can't even acknowledge that she has been doing all job all this time. Shame on those parents!

The fainting makes me think that something realllyyy bad usually happens when she stands up to her dad off camera.
The fact that these girls basically knew that things wouldn't change after Jo left is chilling. If these girls didn't get emancipated, I'm sure they left as soon as they turned 18 or 19.
Assuming they had the education and money to afford that. Not to mention the guilt of leaving they're little brothers.

I’ve read somewhere that the oldest sister went to the navy and married with 3 kids. The parents got divorced right after the show and then the mom got remarried. The oldest lives near her mother. The second one moved to California.

The teens have my sympathy! I lived this life except I didn't have homeschool! And I was also told I wasn't doing enough and I wasn't good enough when I was the one playing Atlas and holding up their world! Finally I got tired of being tired and I got pregnant! It was the first bit of freedom I had because I'd been kicked out of the house and I was on my own. I agree. I felt like the parents (esp the dad) acted for the camera because he knew what he was doing is abusive. I hope CPS sees this and steps in.

The mom thinks it’s so hard to watch her kids for 2 hours. Yet the 2 girls watch them for 8-10 hours.

I think Glenn was far more abusive to the girls than what was shown here. They seemed scared of him, especially Brittany. Sara divorced him, got custody of the boys, and apparently he's completely out of the picture.

This one is heartbreaking. All the children put under immense emotional pressure for no reason at all 😭 little boys being parented by kids, kids parents kids. Everything is so sad. The youngest cries so much because he wants time with his parents. I imagine it’s torcher being raised by teenagers who don’t wanna be doing it 😭

You can see how scared they both were when super nanny left.. It was quite hard to watch
The look in the mom's eyes after she found out about the girls talking how the parents were "acting" when in front of cameras scared me, even bringing up punishment. That just shows that the parents never consider themselves in the wrong -- that they could do no wrong.
Also, with the daughter fainting. I know that some people react or express emotions differently to extreme situations, but there was no aftercare of the daughter. It's probably happened before.
The mother did not seem worried about her daughter. Just going through the motions of calling the doctor and taking her to the doctor....again all for the cameras. My feeling is she fainted because as soon as she tried to speak up about folding laundry, he challenged her on it instead of accepting that she was doing more than others. He is very controlling and obviously was conscious of the cameras the whole time and how he would be perceived, as was the mother. I think the only reason these parents agreed for their family to be on the show was for the money and nothing to do with fixing things in their family.
Exactly it’s completely ridiculous that she saying the girls are using this experience to walk all over them and she acting like the girls are out of line in anyway here.

Makes me wonder if the daughter has vasal vagel syncope. Stress can bring on an attack that makes you faint. Hopefully I didn't miss them saying why she fainted but it made me very worried for her
I was thinking that this may have happened before because her dad had zero reaction.
I'm a social worker and I wouldn't hessitate removing all of those kids from the home because of neglect after seeing 10 minutes of this 🤦🏼♀️

Let's be honest the kids wouldn't have been removed. At best they would have had a 3 to 6 months family plan. Where mom and dad would have to be primary care givers or pay for care. The girls grades would have to have improved, and parents would have to ensure their needs were being met. I'm an LMSW and was CASA volunteer.
CPS was called on the family. I don’t know if they were removed but I agree especially if the behavior didn’t change.

Immediate removal? Not trying to work with the parents first? I'm a former foster mom who had to quit because of safety issues from foster teens. The system ruins them. Look these are horrible parents but seriously, case workers need to understand what happens long term. Why not lay down the law with parents, then work with them?

From what I've seen from other comments, I believe after the show the parents were investigated for child neglect and both eventually divorced. The oldest got into the military and now has three kids and is married. Brittany also lives close to the mom. The youngest, Moriah, moved to either California or New York and is married. As for the boys, they either grew up with their parents or something like that. Again, I'm not sure if this is completely true, but I believe there's an interview of both sisters all grown up, so you can search and check it out. Hope this helped!
I love that super nanny knows when to leave.. go home, gather her thoughts to best help the situation. She’s amazing. This whole home is depressing.
This episode is definitely one of the worst I have watched. It is disgusting the situation these parents put their kids in. I feel sorry for anyone who had to grow up like this. And the fact that Brittney probably wanted to leave once she was 18 but couldnt because she knows how the parents would treat the rest of her siblings

Brittany and Mariah both looked like their hair might fall out from stress. Both are waifs to begin with, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if Brittany had become anaemic. I'd be entirely unsurprised if either developed an eating disorder, just to have some level of control over what's going on.
