I feel ya, the Crunch is the only pair of locking pliers I own so it gets used, but a regular pair of vice grips would work just as well, Just nowhere near as cool or compact. Check around locally, some less-trafficked places still have them
Franky as someone who has their crunch on my person the majority of the time I leave the house it is extremely handy to have, though be careful using the wire cutters you might pinch yourself
Leatherman it's launching cool products but it definitely retire great tools like this or the juice series or the ps4 and the sad part it's not listening custumers that are now looking for used units
You have three Crunches? That’s impressive 😄. I’ve seen the frame crack on them before so that could come in handy. Unfortunately the warranty isn’t much good when they’re out of production
If Leatherman actually advertised some of their items they wouldn't have to discontinue the cool ones without people knowing about them. I'm not a multi tool guy but that thing I would make an exception for.
Bought mine ages ago at a discount, for approx. $80, last piece, from the display shelf. It's been my most used leatherman, and still looks pristine and works flawlessly.
Bought one a year or so ago on Grainger for like $115 and man it was so worth. Such a cool tool. And they grab sawzall blades really well if you need it in a pinch.
You also forgot to mention that on the jaws, there is a notch cut out in the middle, so you can hold a t-shank style blade. It's great for gripping sawzall blades, jigsaw blades and any other tool that has a t shank
i wish this being retired means they are releasing an updated version with a bit driver thats quicker to access. (i know you can just use the jaws too but its not the same)
I did not know this existed, they only reason I don't carry a Leatherman is because pliers are not much good on tight nuts and bolts, this looks like it would work great!
Bond is my first leatherman and I used it when I was in the South Korean Marine Corps. It was great tool and now it is covered with some rust... 😅 but it still works just fine
Not easy to handle and deploy with one hand like that. You must be a seasoned user. I have two, in case one has a problem and I need to send it back to Leatherman for repair. They have been good about repairing them, but it takes a couple weeks and I don't like being without my Crunch! The most common problems have been broken file and pliers broken from twisting. The tool also loosens up and it gets worse over time. When it's loose it can close and lock on your hand, very painful! So maybe that's why they're cutting it.
Ive seen people use jigsaw blades clamped in the pliers for a decent saw. And easily replacable blades if you wanted a different tooth count saw or it gets dull.
Still have the original release with leather case 👌 never knew was worth so much...may retire it knowing that😂😂😂 have had them clamping 200kg of steel...it worked.
The Crunch is super cool, but it’s EDC potential is quite a bit lower, low enough that it makes perfect sense that the Wave and everything that came from that design, including the newer magnetic designs, killed it off. When you pull something from your pocket, popping out the right tool instantly lowers the “ugh he always does this” factor significantly.
I totally agree. It’s more specialized and the need to assemble and disassemble it makes it not very practical. The magnetic free series are my favorite for that reason, no digging for tools. I still love it for the engineering though.
Few things separate human beings from Monkeys opposable thumbs the bit lighter, Swiss Army, knife, leather man, multitool, K bar, military knife, and CRKT Cho gone Tomahawk hammerhead are on my survival belt with a functioning metal insulated water bottle. When the SHTF you’ll be glad you have at least some of the tools listed above. And a really good flashlight with plenty of extra batteries. A five pack of BIC lighters is worth it weight in gold. Combined with a 30 count bag of Mentholatum cough drops is ultimate fire starter.
At a small fishing store w a lot of knives. I called around a few stores to find this. I was just there yesterday and the Crunch was missing from the display case! I didn’t ask but they are likely sold out
This was a cool idea but not a great execution. I own one. The vise grips are way too small. Whole tool is too small. This should’ve been an xl version with full knife blade. Clamping force is good for what they are but not for doing jobs you would use actual vise grips for. I would recommend the super tool 300 over this by a long shot. Price is similar
I dont need one. But i def want one. But resellers are acting like its made of 14k gold

Yeah Fr I need to get a pair of these. Hopefully for a good price but I doubt it
They will come out again soon
@Iniquityslasher I think they will come out with a revamped version. I feel it in my soul lol
Not gonna lie I wish that Leatherman would bring this back
For real, there currently isn’t any alternative, although there have been some in the past
Leatherman it's launching cool products but it definitely retire great tools like this or the juice series or the ps4 and the sad part it's not listening custumers that are now looking for used units
@@battleminionno cool products, but you can customize the color of your multi tool!!! 🤡
@@battleminion With how good the multi tools coming from China are, they need to try harder.
But they hate money!
The ability of leatherman to discontinue the best tools always amaze me
Leatherman back then 😍🙌🏻
I’ve got mine right next to me on the nightstand. They were my dad’s ,he’s been gone 14 years now and they are still going strong !
All my leatherman tools will go to my son. I am not using my crunch, so it's in mint shape when my son gets them.
@@Geared84 that’s awesome, I’m sure he’ll treasure them like I do mine .
I carry one with me everyday at work. And got 2 on the drawer as backups👍
You have three Crunches? That’s impressive 😄. I’ve seen the frame crack on them before so that could come in handy. Unfortunately the warranty isn’t much good when they’re out of production
remember this thread if ya ever wanna sell 1 ( reasonably priced)
@@patrickbledsoe2176not likely, they go for around $400, he's not going to sell something that he wants, to you for cheaper than they go for

I had one in the Army. It was my favorite version of a multitool. I wish I could buy 3 of them.
As a welder, I feel like I need this. Please leatherman bring it back lol
I have one in my motorcycle tool kit on my bike.
I carried one for years, and loved it. I was devastated when it went missing.
Wish they would bring it back
Bought mine ages ago at a discount, for approx. $80, last piece, from the display shelf. It's been my most used leatherman, and still looks pristine and works flawlessly.
The copy on AliExpress has done a great job for the last couple of years and it cost less than £10
I purchased my Crunch over 20 years ago and have used it extensively with out fail👍.
Bought one a year or so ago on Grainger for like $115 and man it was so worth. Such a cool tool. And they grab sawzall blades really well if you need it in a pinch.
Nice!

I would say the bracelets way more unique. Love that thing.
That wins the prize haha
Leatherman hating money since forever
I cant believe they dont produce it more! I have one, and I love it! the locking pliers it is very very very useful
I love mine, it’s been part of my EDC for a few years now
Very cool! I wonder why it was discontinued
ngl I love vice grips compared to the normal pliers. I NEEEEED IT!
i wish this being retired means they are releasing an updated version with a bit driver thats quicker to access. (i know you can just use the jaws too but its not the same)
I love mine, use it all the time and I just wish I got another
Im glad I own one in mint shape and Ill never let it go.
I did not know this existed, they only reason I don't carry a Leatherman is because pliers are not much good on tight nuts and bolts, this looks like it would work great!
God I want one of these. The pliers might be even more useful than the knife and these ones are great.
I had no idea it existed and no idea why they’d discontinue it. That’d be a great pocket carry multi tool other than my disdain for serrated blades.
Hoooooooo, I did not know this existed but I pray for its return. Id order 2 IMMEDIATELY.
Bond is my first leatherman and I used it when I was in the South Korean Marine Corps. It was great tool and now it is covered with some rust... 😅 but it still works just fine
*Sigh* I lost mine three months ago.
I do hope a lucky person found it.
One of their best. I have two. Hidden features.

I purchased mine for 55 bucks about 10 years ago it was on clearance
I miss my crunch it was technically TSA compliant, until the remove serrated blades from the approved list of things you can have as a carry on
I would absolutely get one if the price was reasonable.
I love my crunch, it has tools you actually use daily in manufacturing. The wave is nice but I don't use half the tools
Ive seen people use jigsaw blades clamped in the pliers for a decent saw. And easily replacable blades if you wanted a different tooth count saw or it gets dull.
They need to come out with a new upgraded design of that model.
Glad I got mine right before it went out the market
It's an excellent tool.
Had a buddy give me one years ago, recently discovered it in an old box from moving! Had no idea about the 1/4” hex!! 🤯
I only just realised I need one. As is often the case ppl only realise when it's gone
Yep, retiring the Crunch was the best marketing it ever had
Still have the original release with leather case 👌 never knew was worth so much...may retire it knowing that😂😂😂 have had them clamping 200kg of steel...it worked.
I love mine!
Muy original,es útil

I bought my first Leatr in 2000 and every I buy a new one realy I love it all the 1rst and last one all are excellents

I have it, and haven’t used it. Didnt know it was in demand
Funny thing is it wasn’t until it was discontinued. It would be easy to sell!
What was the final MSRP for this Leatherman?
$120 I think
Bought one new when it was announced they’re retire it, cuz it’s pretty unique and cool. Now I almost feel bad using it 😅
That was a good time to get one. I use mine but I won’t be turning any rusted bolts 😄 the frame has it’s limits
i love it
Simply the best !!
I just found one last week at a Cabelas "bargain cave"... $100 NIB ! 😉
Nice!
I have one. Use it at work. Thankfully I didnt have to pay 300 for it.
Why on earth would you stop making that?! I want one
Apparently they didn’t sell well.
Ive got one too.....never selling it

I want one so bad
They must have just discontinued them I got one like 3 years ago
Love mine!
❤WoooooooooW
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍woow
wait why'd they retire this
It didn’t sell well, they kept it around for a long time though
I have one of the first ones that I inherited
Where’d you find this?!!
At a small fishing store w a lot of knives. I called around a few stores to find this. I was just there yesterday and the Crunch was missing from the display case! I didn’t ask but they are likely sold out
@@Kayakatools bummer! Such a great find
Wait, HOLD UP. I recognize some of these locations. Was it YOU who bought the last Crunch from Holiday Sports???
I didn’t purchase the last one at my store but shortly after they were gone! They also had camo OHT and ratchets. Those are gone now too
Procrastination got me again. I decided to buy one only to find out there were none available. I don’t buy things at more than retail price.
Check around at small local places that stock a lot of knives, fishing, hunting etc. some stores still have them
Just bought 1 a few months ago at a flea market like new for 20 bucks
Score!
I'm not paying over full price for this so I'm so mad that I miss my opportunity to get this.
Yeah I wouldn’t pay eBay prices either on this one
I have a smith and wessn only reason is because i like its look. It's my shame
I need that oht that was in the case to the left
A tool worthy of Medieval 2 TW
Where??
A small fishing store. I called around a few local places to find one, farming, hunting, fishing etc.
Use and carry mine daily.
Now i want it also😅
Number 2 after ratchet driver

I keep mine that I got from my dad in my belt holster, I go nowhere without it
Dang, and ive got the older Velcro sheath, not one of the newer button ones..
This is also the only other tool (other than the PST) that Tim Leatherman designed.
This and the PST are NOTHING like the new leathermans
It’s a very impressive design, very compact
All vice grips do that....
They really discontinued it?
Yeah I think they announced the final run in Dec.
Have you never heard of vise grips?!
Drill bits are sharp, you can’t just slide your hand across one like that without hurting yourself
One day😢
This feels like an ad for someone who brought all the available products so he can sell them for like he said twice the Amount just saying is all
Yeah, leatherman getting rid of all the tools people loved. Im waiting to see if they come back out with some, otherwise, ill just buy offshore stuff
Unfortunately this was never a big seller
That is dope. But its too big, expensive and less versatile than the wave+. Still wantie.
I should have got one when I had the chance. Snooze you lose I guess.
Check around any local fishing/hunting/farming stores, there’s still a couple left out there!
running your fingers down a bit like that was chaotic at the least
So jealous!
There’re still a few out there!
I decided- I want it!
I cringed so hard at him pulling the drillbit with his bare hands. If that drillbit was in good condition, it would cut up your hands pretty badly
no way I’ve got one and I got it for 80 dollars
F*ck I own one and I've lost it right now :(
Just like the tread
I must be weird and strange in comparison to this comments section because I have absolutely no need for this tool
Had one I think someone tossed it. Smh
Wonderful tool, but let's discontinue it. Because leatherman.
Unfortunately it didn’t sell well. It had a solid 24 year run though.
And of course it's discontinued
I can't think of worse ways to demonstrate vice grips
I can!
