Buckin' love you brother!!! My daughter will be 3 years old in June and she has been watching you since she was born. When you come on each day with your videos she climbs onto my lap and says Buckin' Ray.....and then watches with me. It's beautiful. My wife and son (almost 1 year old) also watch now every day. My whole family loves you. ......thank you so much for doing what you do. You are so appreciated.

Thanks so much Billy. I am having issues with some chains and this is an excellent video, excellent. I am going out into the garage and filing at 11:20pm in my underwear. No windows in the garage and everyone here is asleep. No one sees, no judgements or family members calling the health authoriities........happy filing. Love it, thanks so much.

I went back in my bone box and looked at my old chains that I retired long ago (cuz they didn't cut). The teeth were as sharp as a razor. But the gullet was not filed...at all. I didn't have a ski jump, I had a laundry chute! Went back and got the gullets. Just practicing on those old relics and haven't cut with it yet but looking forward to seeing better results on the log. You kept pounding it in my head and I wanted to slug you for it. But now that I see what you're talking about, I want to kiss you. Thanks BBRS!

I look but I also feel the tooth with my finger. On a normal maintenance sharpening, I usually give the gullet three licks with my 13/64 Stihl file and then three strokes on the cutter. Last week after noodling some pine logs in half, I hadn’t to give it three on the gullet and nine on the cutter to get the chain back to my specs.

Buckin ,at what point do you not file a chain and replace it?

I have chains with some teeth completely gone broken off, use them when I'm clearing brush or know I have a job cutting roots. Newer chains try to reserve for falling and bucking. Everything else for firewood production. There's a line on Stihl chains where to call it quits, but as long as you have a tooth with a good corner she'll cut.

Depends what file u use.. I run stihl chains on my saws.. I round file.. and flat file trackers 10 passes after my 5 touch up.. never mess with the rackers again.. keeping the curve in the saw tooth is critical in chip cutting

I’ve been watching your videos a lot! Yesterday I filed my 3/8 low profile. I was getting the gullet. Went to cut a round of maple with my echo 400. The chain snapped and broke at one of the links. I guess I filed to close to the link. Have to pay attention to that. Never knew that would happen
