Four weeks ago I had my first live gig with it and it was an absolute blast. Just brought my guitar, a 5GHz wireless and the nam player. All went into my gig bag. On stage I just used the XLR going right to the sound engineers pult and let him route this signal for me to a monitor wedge. Worked great and I even got compliments for my guitar sound from the audience (of course some of the kudos also had to go to the sound engineer for doing a good job). Before this firmware update I would have had at least to bring another pedal as a booster for the leads like a TS. Having a convolution reverb build into it also helped to cut down extra cargo for the gig. "Abusing" the build in mod delay to make it sound like a chorus also helped me (needed a cheesy 90s grunge chorus sound for one song).
Hello, just ordered my first Nam player, can't wait!..i was wondering do you if i could import acoustic guitar IRs into the unit? Thx for the great informative vids!
It's a killerr thing. But, why just a pedal? Why don't you guys produce a NAM small solid state combo amp like Boss Katana? I would be first to buy an amp which can sound like every single tube amp I chose. And few of them with a footswitch. It would be a great thing to have footrwichable Dumble, JCM 800 and Soldano SLO. Or some Bogner or Matchless.
Because as a small company, we have no clue about building speaker cabinets or working with wood ;-) and we don’t have any connections in that area either.
@Vincelupone I know that you hate paid updates/upgrades, do you know whether this company will charge something in the future for any software updates/upgrades? Cheers
not to be negative but why doesn’t the quad cortex allow multiple captures in a preset? you said this was the only hardware in the market to allow for two capture models
Hi there, I am the person who made the video - I just checked, and you are right! I am sorry that this mistake slipped in - I was mainly focussing on the smaller units, like ToneX, Kemper Player and the Nano Cortex, but technically, yes, the Quad Cortex is as well capable of delivering multiple captures. Just never had one in my hand to play around with, so I was unaware of that!
The quad cortex is also like 3x the price which I think lands it in an entirely different comparison group. I love Neural's plugins, wish the nano would run them :(
No. From the FAQ section on Dimehead's website: "The NAM player does not support stereo. We wanted to build a compact and robust device which is perfect for most of the users. Stereo is rarely a requirement and so decided to go for mono. If you really need stereo, you can use two of the devices."
This is a great device and you're basically first to market with it. Awesome job!!

Could you do an amp model in series with a speaker model?
yes

@@PippPriss no worries. you guys are still the only company to make hardware that has two (or even one) nam profile which is a big deal

Can the XLR output stereo signal?
No. From the FAQ section on Dimehead's website: "The NAM player does not support stereo. We wanted to build a compact and robust device which is perfect for most of the users. Stereo is rarely a requirement and so decided to go for mono. If you really need stereo, you can use two of the devices."
I second the request for a stereo version in pedal format for studio as well as stage!
Sumamente caro para no ser una marca conocida.
Latencia más baja, muy potente. El costo de una pequeña empresa para los negocios siempre es más alto que el de una gran empresa.
Mmm naaa
