San Marino is not an enclave of Rome
San Marino is all that remains of the Roman Empire. It is Rome.
It is not even on the same side of Italy, weird mistake.
Wdym
It is
@@no6odys8fe90 it is not.
Sana’a, capital of Yemen, is actually located over 2200 meters above sea level, making it the 2nd highest elevation capital city in Asia, which I find really fascinating
Wait really, its even higher than Kathmandu?
@@ramtailthebattlertr2066 I think so
@@ramtailthebattlertr2066It said 2nd, not 1st and in Asia, not in the world
@@Hugo_Mendez yeah, but Thimpu is the highest, so Sana'a being second meams its higher that Kathmandu. And Sana'a IS in Asia
Gorgeous.. sanaa and the people are made of such regal beauty... You are spot on sir.
Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia, is situated in Central Europe and it is located in the extreme south-west within Slovakia. The city borders Austria in the west and Hungary in the south making it the only national capital in the world to border two foreign countries.

San Marino is not only not an enclave of Rome it's also not really anywhere near Rome
San Marino is literally the last remaining vestige of the Roman Empire. So you’re very wrong LOL.
@@jessturner6886 You are veryy confidentally incorrect!! San Marino is on the North Eastern coast of Italy on the east side of the Apennines, Rome is on the South western coast of Italy. They are 320km apart. San Marino is NOT an Enclave of Rome nor is it anywhere near Rome. Do you actually know what an Enclave is? ... uh...LOL
@MathieuVutton37 come to think of it, can Vatican City and San Marino even be considered Enclaves? Technically they are not "part of a Country completely surrounded by another Country", (part being the key word here) they are the entire country.
Mexico City is the most populated capital in North America, the Americas in general and the whole western hemisphere, it’s also the most populated Spanish speaking capital and city in general. 🇲🇽
Not to mention that Mexico City had been founded in the 1300's as Tenochtitlan - the capital city of the Aztec Empire with at least 100,000 citizens living there in the early 1500's in this extraordinary metropolis with many pyramids, palaces, temples, plazas, marketplaces, etc. built on islands in a lake connected by causeways to the lake shore. Although it was conquered by the Spanish in 1521 (and would be somewhat altered in appearance ), the Spanish made it the capital city of their Viceroyalty of New Spain then ,after independence in 1821, it became the capital of the nation of Mexico. IOW, this is the ONLY capital city in North or South America that has continuously functioned AS a capital city before and after European colonization!
Tokyo almost has more people than all of Canada
Tokyo metro yeah, even though the city proper is like 1/3 the population, but city proper is kinda meaningless with big urban areas like that
Metro New Delhi has 38 million people

16:27- Singapore is comprised of one main island and dozens of smaller islands. In any case, its namesake capital city sits on the main island which is separated from country of Malaysia (and Asian mainland) via the Johore Strait- a body of water! Hence one cannot WALK from Lisbon to Singapore without crossing at least one body of water!
^
He probably meant without taking a boat, because you can't even get to Johor without crossing like 100 rivers at least
@@ramtailthebattlertr2066 good point
My favorite capital city is Canberra Australia just because of its funny history, it was basically just created from nothing in the middle of nowhere where about an equal distance between Sydney and Melbourne because those two city’s couldn’t decide who should be the capital after Australia gained independence 😂😂

Very interesting and informative video, even with the San Marino mistake and a few other minor ones
Excellent video. Thank you!
@34: How about Djibouti?
15:25 wrong, Burundi moved it's capital from Bujumbura to Gitega in 2019
The territory of western Sahara has also a capital city beginning with the letter „e“. Its El Aaiún.
Great Video
1.It's written "Laayoune" not "El Aaiun"
2."Western Sahara doesn't control it , they only claim it as their capital , it's administered by Morocco and the people there recognise themselves as Moroccan (I myself lived there for 10 years)
True you right. In German the capital is called El Aaiun so i thought its the same in English. I just mentioned it because Scotland isnt an own country either. But thanks for the information.

The capital city of Seoul in South Korean means literally 'capital city' in Korean!
Same with Astana, Kazakhstan
14:38 Was in both Wellington and Madrid within a month of each other last year.

The most egregious mistake here is that Singapore is an island. You'd be going over a bridge. Lots of other mistakes too.
Port Louis is my favourite. It's safe, clean and small enough to walk around.
12:11 Djibouti

Thank you sir and I just wanted to tell you that Mogadishu Somalia is also called Xamar thus making it the only capital city that starts with the letter x.
14:44 I saw that and thought "surely it should be something like Oslo, or Ottawa, something way more north. But it is actually correct. Shows how a standard world map skews your sense of distance.
You could have mentioned as fact that Amsterdam for a large part is build on wooden poles and animal hides.

Gitega became the official political capital of Burundi. So it is newer than Juba but Bujumbura did not lose its title as economical capital.

Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, is the only capital in the world which is split into two. The southern part is in the Republic of Cyprus, which is recognised by the UN, and the northern part, which is in the TRNC(Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), which is a De-Facto nation only recognised by Turkey. Since 1974
Fascinating video, bravo! Slight correction, if I may. X is not the only letter with no capital city. There's no capital city of a UN recognised nation state beginning with E either. Edinburgh is not a sovereign Independent state, rather a devolved region of the UK
Very interesting, but Isn't Monte Carlo the capital of Monaco?

When I studied Geography, I found human geography so boring so in turn I don't like cities. I agree with your assessment of Costa Rica. I have the same sentiment with all countries, natural geography is far more attractive than artificial/manufactured geography.

Kuala Lumpur js my favourite capital ❤
Amsterdam
Excluding Antarctica and Australia, wouldn't north america be the continent with the least capital cities with 3??? Anyway, love these videos and cheers from Niagara falls, Ontario, Canada!
No because Central America is not a continent on its own. It is part of North America. So there are dozens of additional countries here.
@@Chas2751 did he say "central america" in the video? Central America would be part of South America. North america only includes Canada, USA and Mexico
Central America and the Caribbean belong to North America. South America is on a different tectonic plate.
After Canadian colonial legislators in Ontario and Quebec failed to come to an agreement over which locale would be considered the capital of the Canadian colonies, they left the issue up to the British Queen Victoria who selected Ottawa to be the capital in 1857- the somewhat remote settlement on the Ontario/Quebec border between the major cities of Toronto and Montreal.

Edinburgh does not really count, since the UK's capital is London. Scotland is not a country, its a constituent country of the UK. The UK is a de jure unitary country so Scotland is technically further away from being a country than New York State is, since the US is a federation. The State of New York has more autonomy and power over its territory than the Government Scotland has over its territory.
Nur Sultan's name got changed back to Astana ;)
North America has less capital cities than South America, as North America only has two capital cities, Washington DC and Ottawa. Oh you mean North America including Central America? Technically that is correct, as geographically, Central America is part of the North American continent, but that must be specified, as North America generally refers to the US and Canada ONLY, and sometimes Mexico, but Mexico is also considered part of Central America by many, so it doesnt count. The US and Canada are the only two countries that are unequivocally part of North America. Technically, the North American continent also includes most of Denmark, by way of Greenland, and France, by way of St-Pierre-and-Miquelon.
What If Europe and Australia 🇦🇺 switched places
The most populated city on Earth, Tokyo
Athens , enjoy their little more affordable.
You never bothered to mention the most populous capital city by city proper? Beijing, which is significantly larger than cities like Tokyo and Delhi (14 million and 11 million respectively). Beijing has 22 million people. Also, Delhi is NOT a capital city. The capital of India is New Delhi, and it is technically a municipality within Delhi but is not Delhi, but is Delhi at the same time. New Delhi's status is weird. You never thought to mention that?
7:59 "the capital city that is found furtherest away". There is no such word as 'futherest', it should be furthest. Fact 25 blah, blah, blah about city proper, urban and metro but absolutely no attempt to explain, probably doesn't know himself. Then he goes on to ask us which European capital has the most populous metro area. Monaco being just over 2 sq. km. doesn't have a capital, it just is itself. SINGAPORE IS AN ISLAND SO YOU'D BE CROSSING THE JOHOR STRAIT TO GET THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better stop at the southern tip of Malaysia.
NYC capital of the world 🌎….. 😂😂

You gave Damascus two mentions and didn't bother to mention something about Beirut. (Which appeared in the 2nd mention of Damascus). You also fail to ever mention Lebanon in any of your videos. Feels bad.

It is NOT Nur Sultan, it is ASTANA. It was reverted back to its original name as capital, Astana, back in September 2022. For a so called Geography bible, you sure make a lot of mistakes, on basic stuff too. Unacceptable.
Nairobi only capital having almost half of the city as a national park roaming with the big five.

According to this video, Cape Town is the world's most dangerous city in terms of murder rate yet its ranked 12th in the world in terms of murder rate according to this same video. Well which one is it? Is it Cape Town or Colima? Contradiction anyone? Oh you mean most dangerous CAPITAL city in the world in terms of murder rate? Thats not what you said, you said most dangerous city. Next time be a little more diligent with your video editing. You are good at making videos but you made a mistake in this one, and this is not allowed. Sorry, rules are rules. I dont make the rules, I just know them.
Why don't people know that capitol and capital are not the same? It's "capitol" when talking about the building or city that is the head of a country.
Edinburgh is not a capital of a country
0:17 shows the Elizabeth Tower while Big Ben is a bell, not a building. Imagine that, San Jose, a capital city being full of roads, cars and trucks! What did you expect, zip lines horses and camels? Tokyo is his 'favorite capital city on earth'. Will he tell us his favourite extra terrestrial capital city? Juba is a city, not a person so it's 'which became' not 'who became'. La Paz is the 'highest capital city on earth in terms of elevation from sea level'. Is there any other way apart from elevation from sea level to be high? Smoking drugs maybe?
