W G Roe Fishing Tournament 6 22 24

Team Blue Dreams fished in a tournament out of W.G. Roe Park Saturday June 22nd 2024. We had a good week of practice leading up to the tournament, but the day of the tournament and couple spots did not produce and we counted on a fish or two from each, but it did not happen.
I have a new GoPro stick and camera and learning to use it, so I did not have it on when Terrell caught our first fish of the day, a 2.1 pounder and then I caught a 1.13 pounder. We missed a few and the bites were touchy. But we caught about 10 fish and culled a couple dinkers out. Like that 10 ouncer. We caught 2 in one of our spots we had not hit in a while. I did yesterday just to see if any were around, and they were.
I will say I am very disappointed with the tournament officials and some of the anglers. We have lost a fish before, but there were about 10 fishing turning belly up and no one doing anything to try to help them or they should not have even been put in the lake, they were basically dead. But that cost weight. We pulled 7 of them out of the lake and we were only able to revive one, a 7lber. And they were all a good size. I would say the smallest was about 2 pounds, but there were a few 4 pounders and that 7lber.
Boats were just pulling up and not paying them any attention or would look and comment but did not grab any. Last tournament they had a bag they put the dead ones in and someone took them home. It was just sad to see. It makes you not want to fish the tournament. Someone had a 20 pound bag. Hmmmmmm,
We took and put some ice in the live well first thing in the morning before we left the marina. Then added the chemical to treat the water, and then when we caught some fish we added some Hydrogen Peroxide to the water, and then later in the day, we added some more ice we had with us. Our fish were doing push-ups. LOL
I do not think any of our lakes are really deep enough you have to release the pressure from their bladder. How deep would a fish need to be to need that treatment done? I do want to learn it.
Overall it was a good tournament. This was the first one we did not catch more weight than the previous one. We missed by 1.5 pounds.
