- I don't normally do customer repairs on valve radios but I agreed to look at this one with a few disclaimers. This is a final demo for the customer showing it working on all bands. Links to the original livestream videos below.

Beautiful radio Graham and well done for a great job on the restoration as ever Daniel
@@danielrussell446 Thanks Daniel. It did turn out very well and sounded amazing
Wow Graham, what a beautiful rig - excellent work, mate! Love that magic eye, in excellent condition too.
@5:21, first beacon is "WTD" -- Waterford in Ireland, 368 kHz (815m)
@5:52, second beacon is "NQY" -- Newquay, 347 kHz (864m)
Thanks Joe and for the info. Those beacons are a good indicator of the sensitivity
I remember this from quite a while ago, how come you still have it Graham? I missed the end of your live stream Sunday, I apologise if you showed it then.
Hi David. This is an old video I put out to my Patreons. It’s now back with its owner who was delighted with it
Ah! A Cossor! They do sound nice.
Yes it certainly impressed me

Nice radio Graham.
Glad you enjoyed it
A very nice radio Graham,I have the same one but with the Stella brand on it and that sounds good too and mine has had no work done to it at all which surprised me
Thanks Mike. I suspect yours may need work at some stage but it’s great you are making use of it
Nice work - handsome radio
Thanks Gerard
Sounds great, thanks Graham 😃
My pleasure!
Well done that man talk thurs xx
Thanks Rob
Cracking job Graham, very clear and sensitive receive. CW ndb stations - 'WTD' is Waterford , 'NQY' Newquay
Thanks. I’d be tempted to get one myself
Nice radio Graham. Not much on long wave these day though.
Yes it is very nice. Shame LW is dying out
beautiful radio very sensitive. take care eh!
It’s a beauty
Fantastic radio!! and great channel. A general question re FM can you stretch the top end to pick up stations above 104 MHz? ie Greatest Hits Radio 105.5 in south Devon or 106.6 MHz in Plymouth? Richard
Thanks Richard. You can pull the oscillator to work at a higher frequency. You will possibly lose Radio 2 on the other end of the scale though
@@Radiocruncher That’s no problem all the good DJ’s got booted out of Radio 2 and now work at GHR 🤣
Very true
Help! Are you able to fix my Sony SW1? After replacing the capacitors (badly) with tantalum ones now the audio is suddenly going quiet……I have had enough of it. I can’t see well enough to fix the damn thing 😆🙈 I have the audio IC too as a new spare if that’s any help. I just need to send it to somebody who is able to do a better job than me and get it working again. The quality of the capacitors was not good and one fell apart with little heat so I think it just needs good quality caps again.
Hi there. I'd be happy to have a look at it for you. Drop me an email to graham@radiocruncher.com
@@RadiocruncherEmail sent but I fixed it (hopefully!)
