Just my neck of the woods...Love it...Climber/bucket operator/ Supervisor..30yrs..And undercut it to make a jump cut..it won't hing over..Peace out...Always tie a handline over a higher tree and tie it to your fallen tree to take the pressure off as you cut..Wrap it to the bottom of a tree and you can lower it slowly once cut...Trees R Dangerous...And Bezzz carful around the Bezzz..You Did a fine job...ooh and never cut using a ladder ..Bad idea...Always be above your cut in a harness crotched in...Easiest way to understand it ..YOU Can build a crane out of other trees around...😎👍🏻

Didn’t have time to watch this video Thursday, glad I tracked it down tonight. Those big trees are nothing to mess around with, it’s always a relief to get them done safely and have them out of the way. A scared logger is an aliive logger, that’s my motto.

Great job Micah and sons. I was hoping you would make lumber with the trunk. We cut and milled ~7000 board ft. of mostly yellow pine, some oak and cedar before we built the house and shop around 1995. I still have a little of it left. We air dried it for 2 years in the shop. All these years later I can look at some of the boards and remember where I got the tree.
I’m glad you stopped and got the pole saw. For some people there’s never enough time to do it right but they alway make time to go to the hospital.😅
    Ones again. Good job.👍👏

I don't blame you for not exactly knowing how that was going to play out. When a tree falls like that and bends over some other ones there can be a lot of pressure and recoil. The term I always use is that tree is "Loaded". Heck of a pole saw! Well done Brother.

Mr. Mika ,I got a funny story for you I was in Boy Scouts about 13-14 years old and we were sewing up a tree that fell now we were doing it by hand, of course and we were sitting on a branch and I was on the branch in front of me but somehow I got to talking with my buddy and we were in deep conversation and hear the branch I was sitting on I saw it off now go figure I started out in the branch in front of me and ended up lol the branch I was sitting on till this day I don’t remember how I did that but I’m glad you got that Bugger down and That’s awesome cause I know you were worried about that tree falling and crushing your smokehouse. I’m glad it didn’t great job and I still say Frank should’ve helping you I feel he should’ve been on the top of that smokehouse cutting that big branch down. Lol. Just kidding I wouldn’t want to see him get hurt, but tell him one of your fans and his fan that he should’ve been helping out. And praise God it wasn’t that difficult cleaning up that mess. I know it was hard work, but I’m talking about nobody got hurt and that’s the main thing. Praise God for that blessing.

"Ya big chicken" yep...but not a chicken burger....lol
Wind storms a few years back, knock down a 15" fork on my neighbor's little brood house. Hanging 7' in the air, 30' long, 1000 lbs. I looked at it. "I can spin this thing, went and cut all the limbs of one side, left the other side as springs. Started the main cut above my head, and was like.... "nope". Realized I looked like Wyle Coyote. Dragged part of the brooder over, got up above the broken fork and working from the other side of the standing fork. Hanging like a monkey. Like 30 minutes of setting up... cut it and it fell just like I planned. Would have been fine. Laughed, called myself a wuss.... nah I would do all that extra again.
