I think it was work for some interior model support, not the entire model building. Model entire building in Revit, like wall, floor, roof. But the accessories like bed, bathtub, even plants it works wonderful. It was wonderful tutorial, thank you 🙏
Hi Kyle, here is my situation, my model is added into Revit as what you said. But later when I save it, and closed the file, and re-open again, the model in revit gone, how can I fix this, thank you.
I can't see why you would want to but it was be as simple as importing the model in one component at a time so you can assign revit materials to the sketchup components you imported.
Hey Nesrine, it really depends what you're doing in the programs and how well you can maintain your projects. Revit inherently is a bit more computer-heavy considering it has a lot more features and libraries. SketchUp is fairly low-requirement to run but can get just as heavy once introducing plugins and lots of data.
You would have to edit the objects in Sketchup or use the "Massing & Site" tab in Revit to convert the imported geometries to roofs or walls with the Model by Face tool
When i try to import file from sketchup, the building won't load to my Revit :(.. it just keep loading, can you/ anyone know what's happen?, your all respond will be very helpful🙏🏻 thankyou
The floor view simply puts a slice through any objects in the 3D model. Where it will give you a floor plan slice through the model, it might need some touching up.
So I am using the web based Sketchup. I download the .skp file run thru all the steps in the video and then I get " Linked file could not be located. It will be displayed as it was when this project was last saved". Any fix to this other than upgrading to the desktop version?
I'm not completely sure on that one. Haven't used the web based version of Sketchup. I can imagine it might be a bit buggy though compared to the desktop version. I would give that a try.
@@dididoneva yeah, look at my previous comment above. "When you download the SKP. file don't download 2021 or newer. I used 2017 version and it imported into Revit". You basically end up with a in-place mass you can't explode in Revit. Kind of useless IMO
That's where they get you.. I tried Revit LT and there's so many small features that I needed that made it very difficult without. Revit LT should be a free software imo
@@kylesinko I'm paying $75/m for revit lt... How much does it cost for regular revit? Another thing I hate is how overly complicated revit is VS other cad programs like sketchup.. Lots of complicated moves to do tedious what should be simple tasks turn into long winded ordeals! I'm so tired of revit! And $75m for a half assed cad is too damn much money!!! 🤢🤢🤮
my first revit tutorial that gets straight to the point
Glad to hear, thanks Daniel!

You may need to “show mass”. I don’t have revit open now but from memory it’s in the massing and site tab
Can we import sketch models.. Such as families(furniture etc) to revit families
You sure can, just open a new Revit family template and import the CAD file into that. Cheers
Hey Kyle I need help with my plan of an art gallery will make video of it 🙏
Is it work on Revit 2018 ? cz It's didn't work on me beside the 3D Cad one
Yes it should work
this video iss very helpful for me. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Cheers
How can render sketchp model in revit ?is it possible pls reply

Which sketchup version works with revit 2024
Hey kyle, thanx for the video
Does Revit needs a computer capacity higher than what sketchup needs ? Or it's the same ?

Ah okeyy thank you so muchh
We need a follow up of this video on how to transform that sketchup into revit entities
I’ll get onto that!
Yes please
@@kylesinko thanks
@@kylesinko hope u can do it~
@@kylesinko please do so
HI CAN SOMEBODY HELP I IMPORT THE FURNITURE FROM SKP TO REVIT AND I CANT THE GIVE MATERIAL WHY??
Can you make a video on how to edit the walls/roofs?

why sketchup 6 moreover i have object & material lost problem

The Sketchup file might be too big. What file size is it? Is there a lot in the model?
when you import it can you see the floors properly in the floor view or does it just show the whole model

Thanks for this❤️❤️❤️
My pleasure :)
Why would you not do a link CAD, .skp format? With the link you just need to keep re uploading the link.
Also why is link cad by .skp not working in 2022?
I can't seem to then edit the model, it just shows as one element..
Thank you sir
You are welcome!
감사합니다❤
I’m an architecture student and Idk how to use those programs if anyone can help me please message me
Error
unfortunately this is useless if you cant add materials but nice try
I have another video coming to do this with materials :)
THIS BS ONLY WORKS IF YOU HAVE FULL REVIT! WILL NOT WORK ON REVIT LT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE REVIT!!!!!
