@BlazingOwnager I'd argue that "old Disney" was the Disney of a decade ago. Looking back, you can see the rot of their current state building up over the course of the 2010s.
Even if Disney did a complete 180 and put out non-woke content starting today, it would take at least 2-3 years before the public began to trust them again. And that's if nothing goes wrong.
Indeed. It could take a decade for Disney to regain the public trust. (And it’s not just about being apolitical, it’s staying true to source material, it’s not antagonizing the audience for disagreeing or not liking the products.)
Bob could personally donate all his wealth to the poor, confess his crimes in a court of law, and seek maximum sentence for all of them. I still wouldn't trust him, let alone the company whose leadership he groomed and handpicked.
There's nothing they could do to win back me. I'm not angry at them, just apathetic. They have so much woke content added to their streaming services that I couldn't trust that my kid wouldn't accidently stumble upon them, so I'll never buy the disney+ channel. Just like bud light with their customers, disney has lost me and there's no way I would ever return as a customer.
Longer than that. Decade or more. Because everyone will cringe expecting the next movie or television show will revert to woke form until that long has passed.
Is a same sex couple with an adopted child considered a 'Family'? Or does 'Family' only refer to a married male & female with their own biological child? I just don't understand some of the complaints that Disney is suddenly 'anti-family'? There still seem to be families in most of the movies, and I don't think they've started showing graphic sexual between ANY couples in their 'kids' movies? And did anyone notice that the lesbian relationship in Buzz Lightyear was LITERALLY kept in a CLOSET? In EVERY scene that 'family' was inside their small 'quarters' which was about the size of a closet! lol I just don't see the problem as long as all relationships are portrayed in the same manner. I mean kids don't even like to see their own PARENTS kiss!
@@StreetPreacherr Statistically the traditional nuclear family (1 man, 1 woman +kids) has been proven overwhelmingly to produce the highest likelyhood of successful adults. Disney seems to not only want to show other types of families, but to undermine the nuclear family. I think the "undermining" part is the part people are unhappy with.
Not a chance. Disney's biggest asset was their reputation as the ultimate family company. Not only is that gone, it's been turned around. They're now an active enemy of traditional families. Walt wouldn't have believed his eyes.
Considering Iger said exactly the same thing a year ago, I'm dubious he's serious about putting out non-political content. And has Blackrock told Disney they could put out non-political content? They're the ones calling the shots.
Whether they want to or not, that takes time. Stuff that goes into the pipeline now won't be released for about three years, and they don't have that much time. Now, ask yourself what was happening three years ago. It was the aftermath of George Floyd's death.
If you remember, this is what Fink was saying about ESG a few weeks ago. Too much of the public is starting to get wise. He basically said they're going to repackage ESG and try and be more covert about it, but the agenda remains. So these are just Disney's marching orders.
Rome didnt fall in a day. It took around 300 years as they expanded beyond what they could control, and the greedy became greedier. Despite the barbarians best efforts, Rome was its own worst enemy as it sowed its own demise from within.
Just to be clear, the “don’t say gay” bill just doesn’t allow the instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten to 3rd grade. Disney got involved over that bill. (Edit: it’s also worth noting, “don’t say gay” was the alphabets people name for the bill. It wasn’t actually called that and doesn’t even contain the word gay.)
Correct, and it wasn't about not saying the word gay, it was about not having sexual conversations with the kids, including hetero sex etc. But the left has to lie about everything, otherwise no one would support their issues.
It's hard to feel sorry for a company that actively did it to themselves. It's obvious that Walt's Disney that catered to average American families is long gone. If they're not interested in carrying on Walt's legacy, let them die a slow, painful death.
Bob Igar is David Fink's sacrificial lamb. This isn't about being out of touch with their fan base but an organized effort to social engineer the population. And what is effective is to cut people off from their history, folklore and myths.
I wouldn’t say that. At the end of the day for a company like Disney they don’t really care about any social movement. What they want is that high ESG score so they aren’t blackmailed into bankruptcy.
I literally got into a fight with a moron whose like “well the new little mermaid was clear about everything and improved upon the original.” And I’m like…the original film was subtle about all its details and story points. The things you’re praising existed in he original movie. And she’s like “WELL TO ME IT WASNT” before blocking me. And that’s the problem. We have to tell every single theme in words instead of showing it.
No one is dumber than share holders at Disney. You rewarded Bob’s failures with a contract renewal. And now Disney is in the same comparison as Dana Air.
@@dadocta5168I don't see much copying in their latest projects.Besides the DCEU mess that couldn't be salvaged from the beginning, their latest projects are not resembling Disney's in any way shape or form.
As Ayn Rand famously said, "You can ignore reality, but you cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality." The consequences of ignoring reality have arrived for Disney, and you love to see it.
Remember the Mario movie? They freaked out when that movie succeeded becuz it did the exact opposite of what they do: it tried to make fans happy and tell a timeless story. Disney FREAKED OUT.
Disney has had a decade to learn from its mistakes. That just stubbornly . . . defiantly refuse to stop making crap. I'm looking forward to Disney having to sell off most of its real estate and IP until it becomes nothing more than another garbage-tier streaming service.
The entertainment industry got the idea that it could stuff its products full of woke content without suffering any retribution for it. At one time there was some truth to that. So what's different now? It's the existence of podcasts like this one on TH-cam.
That's most of the modern western entertainment industry, Disney is just the most extreme example. I think what happened is that as these companies kept trying to be more diverse not just with their products but the staff that makes them, the old guard kept getting replace by activists posing as creators and by the time they realized this wasn't working anymore, there were enough of these people in positions of power as to become the new concil so they couldn't get kicked out. I think even the Drinker talked about this being the unspoken truth for Hollywood executives based on accounts from people working in the industry.
@@inendlesspain4724that makes lots of sense. I always wondered why at the same time, Disney is getting woker and the content quality is getting worse. That is also an explanation for all the remakes nobody asked for. To an ungifted propaganda pusher, remaking known classics with a focus on politics might be the only way they see a chance for profit while doing their preaching. 30 years ago, Disney just told good stories. Audiences loved it. I like strong, well written female characters like Princess Leia or Ellen Ripley. I like some over-representation of queer folks to nudge society towards embracing diversity (every person is unique, but most people wear a mask all day). But this all may happen NEVER at the cost of delivering bad quality stories.
@@NotaNazgul Woke people operate on the delusion that everybody is equally talented, and therefore your moral duty is to hire someone diverse and/or an activist and not somebody who actually has proven they can do the job. Then they'll get mad becuz people point out how bad their media is becuz they can't accept that the diverse activist is not talented and nobody likes them.
@@dementeddoom2425 I guess you are right. With the obvious exception of men and white people. If they are not represented, nobody asks for diversity hiring or supporting them. Just look at the percentage of male college degrees. Fighting sexism with sexism does not exactly give them the moral higher ground.
I think Pixar is a great example just how far Disney has changed. They started out with toys, talking animals, talking cars, and monsters. These are things kids are interested in. The themes were friendship, family, etc. Now they're making movies about death, menstruation, etc. It's like there's a mid-life crisis going on over there. They have several movies dealing with the afterlife in one form or another. It's kind of depressing.
I mean I don’t think it’s a problem to introduce kids to the concept of death. It’s a natural part of life and I think it’s okay to have kids experience what it means to go through it as they’ll have to someday. I also don’t think it’s a problem to introduce young girls to menstruation as they all have to deal with it and giving them a movie dealing with growing up isn’t a bad thing. I think the problem is that the company overall is still relying on the past and nostalgia for their success. They’re relying on the gimmicks of “well what if this comes alive” or let’s take a movie like Soul and rely on the fantasy world as a crutch rather than trying something different.
@@bjohnson0903 well, there _is_ faith to the degree of helping others outside of your own objectives, and having the _faith_ that they will respect that. Faith just simply means to believe in something bigger than yourself. Faith doesn't even have to purely involve something altruistic in nature. You can have devoted faith to the evil overlord you serve, to dominate and take over the universe. Or at least the city across the river.
@carlrood4457- 'It's like there's a mid-life crisis going on over there'. It all started with Frozen. Think about it, that movie basically catered to women (not girls) having a mid-life crisis and reassuring them.
I think there's definitely something to be said for unconscious admissions. The fact of the matter is, they don't *know* where they're going, or if they're even gonna last much longer as a studio, and I think that uncertainty definitely makes it's way into their work in these more subtle ways. I haven't seen a Pixar movie in years, but just about their whole catalogue feels like a zombified corpse of what they're 'supposed to be', if that makes any sense. Just nothing grabs me at all.
Paul, there has been one thing that stopped woke schools and teachers in Canada, the fear of being called racist. Not long ago in my hometown, there was a story about a teacher (probably a white woman) berating her class of elementary school kids about their parents pulling them out of school during pride festival or whatever. The only problem was that this was a school mostly made up of Muslim or East Indian kids. You can bet the school board took immediate action and punished the teacher. If those were white kids and parents, the school board would have insulted the parents and given an award to the teacher. When the woke agenda runs into conflict with "people of color", especially Muslims, I'm pretty sure the woke agenda will lose.
lol curious how the people of color from foreginer lands are the only one with the guts to pull taht out, and openly call those rainbow rats on their crap
Not always. Remember when they were picketing the schools for putting gay sex books in schools? A lotta the protestors were Muslims, a lot of them were black, and the media was uncomfortable with them and didn't side with them, becuz they were up against alphabet protesotors.
We were discussing this contraddiction with some friends not long ago. The diversity & inclusion agenda cannot survive the inclusion of cultures that are far more traditionalist and reactionary than almost anything the radical left blames on their sworn enemy the straight white men. So the conundrum they have forced themselves to face is how can at the same time pushing for 4th wave feminism, LGBTQ[xxx]+ and gender theory, while also being inclusive towards ethnicities and cultures (largely made of dark-skinned people) that vehemently oppose those ideas?
@@ROMANTIKILLER2 Exactly! The majority of immigrants coming into Canada are either South Asian or Muslims from the middle east. Neither of those areas is keen on lgbt people or woman's rights. There is a major clash between their values and the values being taught to their kids in Canadian schools.
Love how Iger is asking for a 'calm down' when all of Disney's wounds are self-inflicted. Disney didn't get pulled into the culture war. They dove into it head first.
Yes! This is what I’m convinced they will do. I was obsessed with Barbie dolls to the point where my play room was legitimately only Barbie dolls (and legos )at one point so to say I disappointed with the movie is an understatement. It was so bloody sneaky with its marketing, I was livid watching it. And it was crazy successful which 💯 if they showed how much agenda was squeezed into the movie actually, it wouldn’t have been. And I think that’s the lesson Disney/ Iger and those other morons will implement.
The woke crowd has gone on records a million times that they’re all about abolishing the nuclear family; it’s no wonder their movies are extremely anti-family
Speaking as a father, 10 years ago or so, Disney was TRUSTED by parents to be safe. My family went on a Disney Cruise (to Alaska) which was magnificent, incredibly fun for all of us, and my wife and I felt it was "safe." Thankfully, my kids are grown (my youngest is 17), so this has little impact now. BUT, we've cancelled everything Disney. And I can tell you now that I will NEVER trust Disney again with children. Once I have grand-kids, I will NEVER trust Disney to entertain them. I will NEVER forgive them for their pandering to pedos. NEVER. You guys commented about it taking a few years for Disney to rebuild the trust they had. NO, again speaking as an actual father, Disney will NEVER be able to regain my trust. NEVER. Have I said NEVER enough yet? NEVER.
Also, and i don't know if this is just my impression, "older" Disney stuff had: 1) heart( nevermind it was a bit forced sometimes) 2) decent or even great storytelling. You could put a Disney movie on and know it was going to be AT LEAST ok. Maybe not great but some nice scenes, couple of moral lessons, a funny character, a catchy song..You could spend a couple of hours with your family just relaxing. Nowadays the stories are non-sensical, the morals are debatable or non-existant, the music is often atrocious..
If a company betrays a trust that important, you are under no obligation to even *consider* forgiving it. This isn’t a person who made bad decisions and might one day beg for forgiveness. It is a money-making company that took your money while betraying your trust. I won’t even consider second-guessing your decision.
@@Eisenwulf666 I'm 42 and when I was a kiddo in the 80s and 90s, my parents were very strict about what modern entertainment I could enjoy. They always fell back on the classic 60s-70s Disney flicks. Blackbeard's Ghost and Candleshoe are still two of my favorites, but so many other fun family flicks. Classic Disney was the best!
Used to be when Disney announced a movie, I'd be excited. They didn't always end up being winners, but even the misses were a decent time. Nowadays when Disney announces a project, I have to wait until after it is out to find out if its another woke, phoned in piece of garbage that masquerades as a "love letter to -insert franchise here-" to con people out of a ticket. It's come so far that I don't go to the cinema for Disney movies at all.
I hate that Walt Disney's great name is being tarnished like this! The man was and still is one of the most important figures, not just in movie making but in cultural context aswell. The man will literally be rolling in his grave!
Walt Disney was a hack who stole the old European folk tales and Arabian tales and even Chinese folk tales while he was alive to turn from stories with harsh morals to sanitized and happy ending pork flicks. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, etc had different endings and taught harsh life lessons as folk tales... there was even a time way back when even Europeans were angry at Walt Disney for destroying those old folk tales for money before many of them ended up growing up with a Walt Disney world resort. The problem isn't Bog Iger. It's the people who were hired who just don't seem to know how to create original content so they try and remake older stuff (they studied Walt Disney's formula) and altering and giving a different message.
“The reputation of a thousand years may be determined by the conduct of one hour.” - Japanese Proverb The Drinker is right, it will take years for them to regain their non-political family entertainment reputation back from their actions in the last 6 or so years.
They're not going to stop pushing "the message", because it's entrenched in every level of the company. They're just going to try and do a better job at disguising it.
Platoon makes a great point (as usual): Disney made their name as a "family brand". It would be profitable for them to cater to people with families, i.e., heterosexual, monogamous couples with children. Yet they seem violently opposed to the idea. Hmmm.
Disney made plenty of movies for that demographic, and that demographic ignored them for a shitty Julie Andrews movie based on a shitty book written by a communist.
Is that the only definition of 'Family'? Isn't 'gay marriage' legal in some states? So a same sex couple with a child is NOT a 'family'? It's not like Disney is portraying graphic sex! lol. Isn't the most physical affection they display for ANY couple usually just holding hands, or maybe a peck on the cheek? Are people worried that seeing two women holding hands is going to turn their kid queer?
The point is, I don't think a lot of parents want to go to the movies with their kids and have to explain the dynamics of LGBTQ+ relatonships to them afterwards. After all, they're just kids and these are suppose to be fun movies and not a conversation about the birds and the bees. I totally understand why many parents would rather not have that conversation with their children until they're a little older, even if they support the LGBTQ community.

The complaint about how fathers are depicted is very on point. You have to search high and low through any modern entertainment to find a father figure that's depicted as a positive role model. Most of the time, if the family has a father at all, they are depicted as either Hannibal Lechter, or Homer Simpson, or both. New flash to Hollywood: Most fathers are NOT monsters. They are loyal, responsible providers who love their wives and children.
Newsflash to the rest of America: For some of us, this *is* a realistic and accurate depiction of fathers. My dad hated *The Brady Bunch* and considered it inferior to “a-hole dad” shows like *All in the Family* and *The Simpsons,* and then he went on to beat me, yell at my sisters, and cheat on my mother. And while he abused me like Homer Simpson abused Bart, he made racist and homophobic jokes like Archie Bunker while denigrating Republicans like the Meathead. So no, the complaints are not on point whatsoever. You could make a more convincing case that the wives are enablers of this behavior both on and off the screen yet they never get held accountable because they can play the V card and do. I am a Gay MAN. The V card is not an acceptable form of payment. If you want to see fatherhood depicted in a positive light, then make more shows about Gay MEN raising children.

I remember when a Disney movie release was the highlight of our summer. Highly anticipated, and afterwards everyone would talk about it. This was the golden age of the 80s and 90s. Then things began to slow down in the 'aughts...where new movies were met with more lukewarm reception. The new Fantasia 2000 was... okay, but not an original triumph like the first. Animations such as Treasure Planet and Atlantis just didn't have the magic of the earlier stories, and they started making "Part 2" of everything from Cinderella to The Little Mermaid (none of which were necessary). Then they went to total garbage in the last 5 years or so. . The end of an Era. I was glad to see the best parts!
Yep, the dude definitely has the pulse on whats happening in Hollywood right now, being a veteran in the industry for over 40 years. His knowledge and wisdom is absolutely indispensable!
It does not help them that locally in Florida, Sherrif Judd keeps busting their employees for those " ugly" crimes. This is the exact opposite of a family friendly company. Let them burn.
Disney needs to sell off LucasFilm. They obviously can't make Star Wars. Sell it, recoup some money, and hopefully the people that buy it can make good SWs.
Being from the GTA, I find Chato's family observations particularly poignant. So spot on, and it shows in the monstrous behaviour of our young people lately. Locally there was gang of tweens who beat a homeless man to death because he tried to stop them from robbing one of his friends. Sickening.
Hi Drinker. First the bill had nothing to do with saying anything, it is about teachers teaching grade school kids about sex. Second. The bill was passed by the legislation, Desantis like any Florida resident was just vocal about it. Th only thing he did was sign it after it passed.
The talk about Bob being a 5 star general reminds me of Elizabeth Banks. After her terrible, misandrist Charlie's Angels reboot bombed, and after she exhausted herself blaming men for its failure, she said something like, "it shouldn't have been marketed as a feminist movie." She used the passive voice to make it seem like SHE wasn't the one screaming about how feministy it was going to be.
What’s interesting is the fact that Walt and Roy were the OG victims of this cancel culture movement, when they opened up shop in Hollyweird in the late 1920’s. But because of their pro American, wholesome, non tribe status, they were denied bank loans, theatre screenings, equipment rentals/repairs, and had the unions sicked on them constantly at the behest of the big studios/mob, who ran that town(they did the same to Howard Hughes). Undeterred, Walt and Roy ended up getting funding from a private investor from NYC, and once they got the ball rolling with the right people in place, Snow White completely changed the game and the rest was history. Thankfully, the Academy Awards weren’t compromised at the time otherwise, they never would’ve won all those accolades that propelled them into cinematic titans. Walt and Roy would truly be disgusted at what their creation has morphed into, ruined by the same Communists they spent half their lives fighting against! RIP gentlemen
Reminds me of that song from Rise Against that says “Rome was destroyed. Greece was destroyed. Persia was destroyed. Spain was destroyed. All great countries are destroyed. Why not yours? How much longer do you think your own country will last? Forever?” They are speaking about the USA so just replace America with Disney and it really feels like the same message.
I remember talking with Mrs. 'Murica about some Disney release. The conversation basically ended with "Of course it's garbage. It's from Disney. Huh, we wouldn't have said that five years ago."
A small problem with The Little Platoon’s idea on the lawsuit: The “Free speech” argument is actually their *least* viable path in an already trash case. Legal Mindset has covered it 1: RCID is not only legally not Disney, so actions taken against RCIS can’t legally be anything against Disney, but Disney being Ready Creek would be massively illegal and open the senior execs to felony charges. 2: There had long been pushes to end RCID, independent of anything else. Florida legislature is just intentionally gridlocked (each member can only submit so many bills a session, and the legislature spends most of the year out of session). It going was inevitable. 3: Disney yanked contributions from members of the Florida legislature. That has as much to do with the legislature saying eff you to them as their comments.
The ideal family is not confusing, yet Disney appears to not just forgotten to promote it, but instead goes out of their way to insult it ... and the ideal (traditional) family is supposed to be their core customer. Disney cannot be trusted. STOP giving money to companies that hate you; no streaming, no theme parks, no cruise ships, no movies.
When I talk to radical left people (I do sometimes), I try to point out hypocrisy with foreign market censorship as often as possible. From rainbow month to removing any gayness during localization. Often it works, but like half the time you get back "At least they're doing something", so those clearly don't care about principles either.
I often try to talk with such individuals as well. Even had a fair few I considered good friends. However many dropped me over time. Often citing that I made them think too critically about their beliefs and didn't make them feel heard enough or have their feelings acknowledged. Worst one was during a recent Texas bill that was being looked at that would have made gender affirming care not be supported by government health insurance. One friend was nearly in tears about what she called, the trans genocide and being legislated out of existence. She dumped a lengthy rant and link in our general chat (we had a chat for ranting and politics that I kept muted). So, I went and read the bill, it did not flat out ban gender affirming care, literally it just said the government would not pay for it. Between her cries I informed her of this, let her know that while it sucked for say government workers and poor trans people it did not do anything else. She then got upset with me for not acknowledging her feelings.

I don't think it's a war on families per se. I think it's a war on happiness. These are miserable, lonely people who are looking for someone to blame for their misery and loneliness and instead of looking within, which is the actual source of their misery and loneliness, they are lashing out at anything and anyone who embodies the kind of happiness they don't have. And a happy, functional family is their ultimate trigger. They have convinced themselves that they are doing it for a noble purpose but the truth is they are just acting out like the emotionally-incontinent toddlers that they are. They seek to destroy what they don't have: happiness.
Disney has turned itself into the Skid Row of entertainment. Once a neighbourhood gets to that state, you don't need to organize a boycott; everybody knows what kind of people live there and what sort of things go on there, and they just avoid it as a matter of course. There might be a greasy spoon down there that serves good coffee but nobody cares. It's not worth the danger and disgust. And there are other, better places to get coffee.

There is a big misunderstanding about Disney and taxes. Disney pays significant taxes to Orange and Osceola counties and the State of FL. They also generate huge amounts of tax revenue for these counties and the state. When the Florida Legislature and DeSantis did away with Reedy Creek, Disney lost control of their property. This is why you heard Desantis joking about building a prison on the property. Will Disney pay more takes under the new Central Florida Oversight Tourism Board? It's possible but not likely. This is why the Reedy Creek board, under Disney's direction, changed the covenants before they were replaced. They attempted to hobble the new board on what they could do, mostly related to control of the property.
The hate on Families in Movies and TV comes from hating their own Families. I bet, that every Great Reset Idea "Mastermind" as well as their Followers were lonely unhappy kids that want a kind of "revenge" on the society. It's mostly all Family issues that were not left behind when growing up.
Another thing that hurts Disney so much is with every new project, instead of talking about they think they have made something really exciting and entertaining, they focus on how it's for modern audiences.
How many years until Hollywood catches on that "modern audiences" who care about politics and representation only exist on Twitter, and they are a microfraction of the population who just want good stories dammit?
Now that Black Rock is pulling out of American markets, Disney needs the consumers money again. Iger never gave a sh*t about equity or representation. He just wanted Black Rock's money.
You could make the case that Disney used to be the best creative story tellers in the world. Certainly you could make the case they were the best animators. You might be wrong, but you could make the case. Now they can't tell stories and apparently can't draw either. Even telling stories they've already told they manage to screw it up. It's actually kinda heart breaking. Did an entire generation of artists and writers all retire in the same week or something?

Could it be that Snow White was the beginning of Disney and now the adaptation of the same property is the fall of the company! That would be a complete circle from success to complete failure.
It wasn't just the fight with DeSantis. Though he used his Bully Pulpit to shut them down. It was the corporate meeting that was leaked where they announced their "Not so secret gay agenda". And the fact that they were going to push LGBT messaging in all new children's content and at their theme parks. Had it just been a dispute over the Parental Rights Bill, it wouldn't have gone this far.

Which film from the true and original 'Walt Disney studios' is your favorite? My opinion is that it's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from 1937. It was the original, it was the first of its kind. We need more 'Walt Disney's' in our World today.
Present day Disney is too far gone from the days of Walt where creatives were the dog that wagged the tail. It has been totally consumed by suits and their creative meddling. I predict it will be bought and essentially become a zombie brand, the buyer of course owning the catalogue, and just slapping that logo on any new product of varying qualities.
I don’t even too terribly mind if they just apply subtlety to their productions. Ideologically, I’ve been pretty much aligned with Disney for years but the heavy handedness of their messaging tends to telegraph where all of their stories and character progressions go and that bothers me.

I'd argue that "old Disney" was the Disney of a decade ago. Looking back, you can see the rot of their current state building up over the course of the 2010s.
Ultimately we shouldn't be happy. We should be sad. The company used to give us great things and could still do it if not grossly mismanaged.

In EVERY scene that 'family' was inside their small 'quarters' which was about the size of a closet! lol
I just don't see the problem as long as all relationships are portrayed in the same manner. I mean kids don't even like to see their own PARENTS kiss!
@@StreetPreacherr Statistically the traditional nuclear family (1 man, 1 woman +kids) has been proven overwhelmingly to produce the highest likelyhood of successful adults. Just as with scar tissue, if the wounds are deep and extensive enough, nothing can be as it was.

Yes, a movie about afterlife with no mention of God or Faith. What a horrible movie!

What’s interesting is the fact that Walt and Roy were the OG victims of this cancel culture movement, when they opened up shop in Hollyweird in the late 1920’s.
@@Sarcastic_Sophist A good response is asking why a random person's feelings should take priority over facts.
And if someone makes you think critically about your beliefs and you have a problem with that, then the problem isn't them.
It's a shame to see a once proud empire become a shell of its former self in under a decade. Not many people can do that. 🎉
It’s nothing short of mindboggling and saddening
Two reasons I'm getting the plushie dog. 1. I want to support the cause. I have adopted many dogs in my life and I spoiled them all rotten and nursed them until they crossed the rainbow bridge. 2. Because that plushie looks my dog Bradley. Thanks for what you're doing.
It makes me sad that I actively root against a company that I used to love
I don't think it's a war on families per se. I think it's a war on happiness. These are miserable, lonely people who are looking for someone to blame for their misery and loneliness and instead of looking within, which is the actual source of their misery and loneliness, they are lashing out at anything and anyone who embodies the kind of happiness they don't have. And a happy, functional family is their ultimate trigger. They have convinced themselves that they are doing it for a noble purpose but the truth is they are just acting out like the emotionally-incontinent toddlers that they are. They seek to destroy what they don't have: happiness.
I guess that would explain the minor backlash against the Japanese McDonald's commercial a month ago?
A war on all that is good, right, and beautiful, from the children of the Father of Lies
Families are an age old source of happiness.

How so? All you’re doing is making yourself to seem whiny by saying that.
I remember by daughters watching great animated Disney movies like the Little Mermaid and the Lion King...I suspect when they have children they won't watch much Disney
That was proven correct with the Little Mermaid this year.
Just get your grandkids to watch the classics also?
My daughters are only watching the classics, Frozen gets a pass because that'a still OK(ish).
I guess Nintendo will take over as the go-to entertainment company for families.
@@crazyralph6386 I'm only 51 still waiting for my ladies to make me a grandfather but I'll definitely do that and take them to the old fashioned toy shop nearby too
the world shall remember bob iger as the destroyer of franchises and disney
Corporations are people? Until there are consequences, then they're an entity.
Yes. The SC in the 1880s ruled they're people. One of the worst decisions of the era, along with the anchor baby unfix.
And you can't please hippies. Or their grandkids.
I got an ad for the Marvels before this video lol.
I believe it when Kathleen Kennedy is fired.
This was a fantastic stream !! I listened to all of it at work today!!
Perfect time for a rival production company to take the mantle.
A company that was successful by creating family content pandering to people actively trying to destroy the very concept of a family was never going to work out.
1:40 If all corporations care about is money, then why do they keep making decisions that lose them tons of money, especially when they know exactly what those decisions are? That's what gives me endless confusion.
I'm never buying Bud, I'm never staying at Marriot, I'm never watching anything Disney.
I’ll add I won’t shop at Target anymore either.
What did Marriot do? I missed that one.
They announced that due to the totally legitimate, fair, and honest 2020 election, they won't donate to "election denying" candidates. Since I'm an "election denier" myself, I can't support Marriott because I see them as part of the problem, part of the fraud, and my enemy. YMMD@@araaraaura1887
Could it be that Snow White was the beginning of Disney and now the adaptation of the same property is the fall of the company! That would be a complete circle from success to complete failure.
Who could have seen this coming?
Tbh, I think Disney’s collapse was always inevitable
It wasn't just the fight with DeSantis. Though he used his Bully Pulpit to shut them down. It was the corporate meeting that was leaked where they announced their "Not so secret gay agenda". And the fact that they were going to push LGBT messaging in all new children's content and at their theme parks.
Had it just been a dispute over the Parental Rights Bill, it wouldn't have gone this far.
Every time a child trafficking ring is busted in Florida, some of the members were working at Disney.
The amount of children who go missing in Disney world is also alarming
lol What about all the conservatives and pastors being charged daily? Biased POV you have there. Everyday child sex abuse and porn charges from those projecting as per usual.
@@chickenlittle2206 what do you mean none? It’s happened several times
Probably the best chance is a new CEO who takes the proverbial machete and flamethrower to Disney.
Iger is too late. The damage is already done. He may have announced that Disney is going to tone down their politics, but they still haven't gotten rid of Kathleen Kennedy. Until they do that, it's nothing but hot air to me.
I used to rule the world
Chunks would load when I gave the word
Now every night I go stow away

Big Bobby has ruined Disney. They won’t see another dollar from me until they stop pushing their agendas. I (luckily) sold all my Disney stock a few years back due their actions. I used to love Disney.
next fun thing is see Rachel Ziegler career going down
My wife is a total normy and out of nowhere last night she says “Disney movies all kind of suck now.” She’s not even clued in to the cultural marxism stuff, the story telling itself was sacrificed and that’s what she’s noticing.
You nailed it!!
He was talking about the lawsuit in Florida.
I keep saying that to anyone interested in hearing.
Which film from the true and original 'Walt Disney studios' is your favorite? My opinion is that it's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from 1937. It was the original, it was the first of its kind. We need more 'Walt Disney's' in our World today.
Pinocchio, Lady & the Tramp and Sleeping Beauty
@@ItsaKindOfMagic86 Oh yes I agree, those are wonderful classics. Like I said, we need another 'Walt Disney' in our World today!
Bob Iger’s pose in the thumbnail really evokes Emerich Belasco from Legend of Hell House. And his actions have only cemented the comparison.
He will even be entombed in a lead lined suite
Disney's no longer the happiest place on Earth.
Jesus, the guests really went off the deep end on this one
