I've got several savage prefit barrels on both savage and ARC Mausingfield actions. Accuracy has been on par with a shouldered barrel. Reloading consistency will give greater down range performance rather worrying about shouldered vs prefit
Hi Mike. I agree with you about the remage barrels. The one that I got from you is shooting very well. I always have them handlapped, don't take long to break-in.
the clocking a barrel makes sense but don't seem to be much if any evidence that it matters im just starting in building gun business i have clocked my barrels at 3 and 9 6 and 12 and random on my own and haven't noticed at deference at least at short ranges
yes I have killed a few big one around the TV towers!! I am in Fordland MO... PM me on Facebook ...... Panther Hollow You can also look me up on Elements website under dealers.
Wish i could do enough shooting to where stuff like this would matter i use to but ever since covid jacking prices up i prolly shoot half as much if that jus cant afford it otherwise and i dont know enough about reloading to be messin around with it i feel like id end up fuckin up a gun or even worse myself by doublecharging a load or something i maknly jus stick to shooting 22lr long range stuff bc i can actually afford that the rest the shooting i do is mostly jus for fun and somewhat jus so i dont regress in skill even tho i already have in the last yr or yr and a half sucks so hard!!! Im gonna try to start getting out more even if its jus purely to shoot 22lr to me its the funnest for some reason i jus love figuring out ur holds n stuff for distances out to 400-500yds it gets challenging enough to keep most of my shooting skill i can still shoot my center fires fine but i dont really ever take them past 500yds any more bc thats the furthest distance range anywhere within 2hrs of me where i live on the coast of NC lower outer banks theres not much for shooting around here unfortunately but still love watchin stuff like this makes me saf tho that i dnt get to so that kind of stuff any more
Dang buddy... If you was closer we could have some fun at the Missouri mile!! Hope this year goes better for you.. I have some fun 22lr vids planned for later on.. stay tuned..

not sure of the contour of your factory barrel but that may be the issue. If the barrel has a nut on it you may need to do a little fitting and get rid of the places that the new barrel is touching.

Very nice shop! I would opt for the shouldered barrel, but the down side is finding and waiting on a good gunsmith in most cases. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks man!!

I have been told that barrel nut barrels end up being lighter than a shouldered barrel.
depends on profile of the barrel

My shouldered Prefit won't fit in a Standard Remington stock.

Very nice body.
