      Thank you. I've heard and was told of others, bigger specimen but yes, they are exceedingly hard to raise to large size if one cannot dedicate to it pretty much the whole tank, or better yet a pond, above ground or not.

      In the wild 5ft-6ft according to the angler photos. It's in the same genus as piraiba.

    I saw many wild brachyplatystoma rousseauxii has yellowish shimmering on his body.

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right, I saw that on the photos too. Maybe it is the age/size thing, or the diet. IDK yet. Ours has always been solid polished silver.

      In the wild they flourish, in a tank like this it's hoping for death to come, this is no life

  • @cakdi7280
    @cakdi7280 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    is this a.k.a false piraiba?

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. These all are from the same genus Brachyplatystoma but three different species - filamentosum = piraiba, capapretum = false piraiba, rousseauxii = dorado or dourada.

    Is he keeping that big of a fish inside that tank..
    He cant even turn properly..

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. This is temporary and the plan to upgrade is being realized. The fish can turn properly but indeed time is not on my side, so sooner is better.

      Yeah he is a total idiot, what's worse is he calls himself a pet owner, I truly hope he realises and sets jt free, go buy a betta don't keep a Dorado like this, if I knew where you were I promise this fish would have been set free by force
