I was at FOX_FEST last weekend in Tokyo where they performed Ratatata live for the first time and it absolutely went off live. I'm a massive Babymetal fan, so I mainly went to see them, but I was very glad to see all bands that were on the bill and EC were an absolute highlight. I'd never seen EC live before, and until the collab with Babymetal was announced, I hadn't really paid much attention to EC but I was blown away by their live performance. Thanks to this collab and seeing them at FOX_FEST, they've converted me into a fan very quickly.
That show sounds Amazing! The viewers of this channel introduced me to Electric Callboy. I feel like I was an instant fan. Fortunately, I was able to see them live a few weeks ago for the first time. Still haven't fully processed this song, after several dozen listens.🤣🥴 . The video was produced by the Schillo brothers, EC's video team. From what I've heard, some of the growling, particularly at the end, was done by Momometal. EC is in Japan, they have done this live, with Nico and Kevin coming out during Babymetal's set.

The "Uuh Uuh"s alternating with Kevin's harshs at the end of the breakdown are just too funny and disturbingly fitting. Talking the live show, did you like Castrop X Spandau? Or did you listen to the studio version prior? Another recent collab, fitting like the fist on the eye, was Feuerschwanz having Roberto Cavalieri (from the OG dwarf metal band Wind Rose) as guest (main) vocalist on Wardwarf, their English rendition of Kampfzwerg (literally Battle Dwarf/ Fight Dwarf, from the 2020 album Das Elfte Gebot, single release in May 2021). The Wardwarf video has the studio audio over compiled live footage.
Both of your suggestions (Nanowar and Feuerschwantz) are on my list. I will definitely check them out. As far as Castrop goes, I did check out the set list prior to the show. I pretty much loved everything. Thank you for sharing
A great collaboration! I don't know when in recent years I've heard a song so many times in such a short period of time. It's already my summer hit. I'm curious to see how the collaboration develops beyond the premiere in Japan at the European festivals, starting with Rock am Ring and its twin festival Rock im Park in a week, where both bands will perform. More to follow. I think you can expect a joint performance of this song. Hopefully there will be a stream or official videos. In any case, there will be a "making of" of the video.
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍 Is it just a coincidence that the two bands are to perform on the same days in the same places in several European festivals in June ?
This song has no business being this catchy, especially with the low growl. I will be definitely playing this in the car. If you watch Tank's video about it, he gives some fun background details.

Tank the Tech, who is their tour manager, saw the premiere of this song in Japan at Fox-Fest which I think is a Babymetal themed festival. It was all under wraps until then apparently. As this was a Schillo Bros production I am sure it was done in Germany and EC providethe musical background. BTW the helmets are on Amazon quite cheaply LOL
