If you went on this backpacking trip would you hike the 10 miles 2400 feet in elevation change in and out, helicopter in and out, or do a mixture of both?

It took me quite a while to actually try one of the dehydrated meals but once I did I was pleasantly surprised! It wasn’t as terrible as I was expecting it to be🤣

Only hike, no need for a helicopter for me. I am a pretty experienced hiker / mountaineer so I can go around 15-20 miles a day no problem. Keep training and it will get easier for you. Great video, keep posting your adventures my friend.

I was worried before I got there at how small the hole would be to get through but actually it wasn’t that bad! I feel like it looks smaller than what it really is but I do know a lot of people were struggling with claustrophobia because of it!!
Oh my goodness, the helicopter process was interesting! We went to the village the day before we planned to fly out to get info from people who were in line and everyone said it was chaotic and a lot of people had cut in line. So when we got there and were the first ones in line we talked to everyone else who got there after us but also early and we all agreed to have each others backs. Luckily I think our day wasn’t as chaotic as the people’s was the day before but 3 people did attempt to cut in line. Because we had already talked to people about it and the people in the front that sacrificed sleep to get there early were vocal about it, the people attempting to cut were pushed to the back of the line. I think honestly that is the biggest issue and it’s appalling to me that it even is an issue.
The first night was hot! I was having a hard time with how hot it was the first night but then it cooled down the rest of the nights. It seems to fluctuate quite a bit. Anywhere from 50’s to 30’s! On the way in to the trailhead the low was 36! We lucked out with the weather for sure. The people after us weren’t so lucky. I think you just have to be prepared for anything.
That is a headlamp! You can either have the regular white light for a headlamp or a color. The color is useful if you’re trying to not disturb others in the area or trying to not have a lot of light pollution. Going through the campground area we all used the color lamp as to not disturb others trying to sleep and flashing it right into their tent. Others did not do that when they were hiking in the dark and I can tell you it is really annoying when you’re trying to sleep and you have a line of lights shining in your face😂 As we got out of the campground I put mine back to the regular white light as I find it is easier to see with it versus a color.

What a great trip. Great idea taking “just add hot water” food. Super easy to pack out what you pack in! And so much lighter!
