I had to make a huge effort to keep watching this guy. It's important to see other points of view. Of course there are different forms of communities, but some of them can be really troublesome! Is this one aligned to FIC purposes?
I feel like I missed the discussion on belonging and building community. Although his philosophy is very different from my own, I would have loved to hear about how people in these communities relate with each other and solve problems.
Love the idea, don’t love that you can build mansions, if you have homes that are not too big, the have and have nots, don’t have the jealousy factor. What about growing food the hydroponics way where you conserve water and are not depending on the weather. I hope it takes off and people stay in their own countries because they see hope and don’t have to deal with the restrictions of the governments. Would like to know what you do about someone that does commit a crime in community?
Well now that would make it too much like an actual eco village. Why do all that when you can just slap a trademark on the word Eco village and call your places that?
Oh my bad, I didn't know we weren't into actual discussion of intentional communities. Apparently we're only allowed to sing praise. This is a laundry list of all the things you should not do to start a community according to every course I've taken with FIC (unless of course you don't care about the actual community aspect of your community). He said himself The community was basically a bunch of vacation homes until a bunch of people who don't believe in science moved there, And maybe now they're creating something resembling a real community (based on the shared values of... Living in cheap places). I imagine you'll delete this too, but at least someone has to look at it and make the conscious choice to censor valid discussion about places that call themselves Ecovillages (And trademark the Well-Known term That people worked for decades to create a foundation for) with 8,000 sqft. Mansions and then still sleep at night. Good job social media team. Keep telling yourselves you're doing what's right to expand the communities movement. Guess it doesn't matter how damaging those communities might be. Shoot, maybe next month we can focus on how to start A Christian white nationalist compound and discuss the best ways to store our weapons to hide them from the government. Since apparently the type of community doesn't matter nearly as much as the fact that it calls itself an intentional Community or an Eco village. 🙄
