@@davematt7 ive always loved lbt. Might be because ive listened to them since i was 10 but they do good still i prefer this song with a powerfull voice not that they dont do this good but i like hearing a voice like that. Still the reason they dont do that is because they are going for harmony and when you do that using a powerfull voice can disrupt or bring attention away from the rest of the band
I counted in Martina for Years to give me support thru her music … I owe my health and happiness to her still today ! Thank you Martina McBride.. keep giving us hope and inspiration things at home go wrong .
Independence Day Martina McBride [Verse 1] Well she seemed all right by dawn's early light Though she looked a little worried and weak She tried to pretend he wasn't drinkin' again But daddy left the proof on her cheek And I was only eight years old that summer And I always seemed to be in the way So, I took myself down to the fair in town On Independence Day [Verse 2] Well, word gets around in a small, small town They said he was a dangerous man But mama was proud and she stood her ground She knew she was on the losin' end Some folks whispered, some folks talked But everybody looked the other way When time ran out there was no one about On Independence Day [Chorus] Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing Let the whole world know that today, is a day of reckoning Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay, it's Independence Day [Verse 3] Well she lit up the sky that fourth of July By the time that the firemen come They just put out the flames and took down some names And sent me to the county home Now, I ain't sayin' it's right or it's wrong But maybe it's the only way Talk about your revolution It's Independence Day [Chorus] Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing Let the whole world know that today, is a day of reckoning Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay, it's Independence Day [Outro] Roll the stone away It's Independence Day.....
Memorial day my go to movie is "Taking Chance". 4th of July, I always came back to this video. the lyrics was a bit confusing, then found out the song is about domestic violence and gaining freedom from the abuser. DM and Independence day are both about freedom.
I think so, I can’t hit that high note when I do it in karaoke, so I sing Gretchen’s version… in a way it’s a better version for the average karaoke person to do … my friend can hit that high part, but I’m more an alto & Gretchens works better
looks like ol Jimbo did an 8 ball before he got on stage, and hey i'm not judgin ( i know he didn't he's got this funny/cute twerk when he's finding the note))
I rewatch this every few months. To get chills and remember what perfect harmonies sound like.
I wasn't familiar with Little Big Town and had no idea they were this talented until I came across this video.
Harmony in perfection.

Hahah, same.
Jim nailed this. A guy covering this. LBT is on another level with their harmonious.
i know and he never get' s any solo singing pieces the other guy does...
how does this not have millions of views?!?!
I think it's been taken down a time or two. Probably a copyright issue.
Because the 967, 000 of them prefer to listen to fake singers doing twerk assisted by auto tune
I can't stop watching this! Those harmonies in the chorus are phenomenal!
Best cover I’ve heard of this song
Fabulous song, love this version what an amazing band they're the ABBA of Country music.
Martina is Gods gift to this earth and Country Music. That woman is just a beautiful soul

Absolutely love Jimi’s voice!
Jimi has an awesome voice & OWNED this performance. I noticed a few times he sounded exactly like Richard Marx.
What a tribute to an amazing singer.
Wow, this is perfection
Wow, just discovered this cover version. That's a whole lotta talent.
way to go Jimi!!👏👏👏
just.....wow!
A great cover
Independence Day
Martina McBride
[Verse 1]
Well she seemed all right by dawn's early light
Though she looked a little worried and weak
She tried to pretend he wasn't drinkin' again
But daddy left the proof on her cheek
And I was only eight years old that summer
And I always seemed to be in the way
So, I took myself down to the fair in town
On Independence Day
[Verse 2]
Well, word gets around in a small, small town
They said he was a dangerous man
But mama was proud and she stood her ground
She knew she was on the losin' end
Some folks whispered, some folks talked
But everybody looked the other way
When time ran out there was no one about
On Independence Day
[Chorus]
Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today, is a day of reckoning
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay, it's Independence Day
[Verse 3]
Well she lit up the sky that fourth of July
By the time that the firemen come
They just put out the flames and took down some names
And sent me to the county home
Now, I ain't sayin' it's right or it's wrong
But maybe it's the only way
Talk about your revolution
It's Independence Day
[Chorus]
Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today, is a day of reckoning
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay, it's Independence Day
[Outro]
Roll the stone away
It's Independence Day.....
Amazing
Man, this sends chills down my spine
What show was this? Man he did an awesome job
I hope one day he record this versions
Love this song❤
Kimberly’s voice in this😍
Two things. Find me another guy that could sing this hit like Jim did. Second, they're combined vocals are top notch.
God Bless this group
nice song..
This guy needs to sing lead more. He's incredible!

Tell my children i love them very much.Russel Case.
Who’s got the high female line in the chorus? The blonde or the brunette? She’s got it nailed! Impressive!
The blonde Kimberly Schlapman thank you
And the whole sound is closer to Gretchen Peters (who wrote it) version … the original song does not have the high part in it
Find me another guy that can do this. Their harmonies are unmatched.
They really took the emotion out of this song. What is this "we are the world"?
💖💖✌✌💖💖
"let the guilty pay"
It's a Gretchen Peters song actually. Credit where credit's due
Actually I like her version better… once I found it, that’s how I sing it in …um … karaoke, otherwise I’m end up almost a screech…
i wish this guy would sing more : he never does. and why is that ? come on
I would argue this is a Gretchen Peter's cover as she wrote it and sang it originally. A great song though, without a doubt.

This is sung very well, I could use more energy in the chorus, more of that righteous anger from the original
Wow I didn't know Bryan Adams covered this song.
❤🧝♂️

I wish someone would tweak the lyrics and make a patriotic song about a soldier fighting in the war of independence.
The refrain is amazing, but the lead vocal nothing special
