Couldn't agree more. I actually worked up a billiard ball routine and it is insanely hard been doing magic for 30 years and this has to be the hardest when it comes to sleight of hand, but once you can do it the old boys give you heaps of respect
What a master. It wasn't just that he did this trick and others flawlessly, but that he kept on doing it week after week on TV. Paul Daniels was the best.
Paul Daniels was, and always will be, a master of the craft. I am truly sad that he has left us. I can only hope that the next generation of magicians, my generation, will be even a fraction, a tenth, as good as he was. For if they are, we shall see the world's greatest generation of performers.
I remember buying a version of this from Paul's TV Magic Tricks range in the early 80s. It was coded as " Black: Master Magician". Not exactly the same as this routine but the fundamentals are the same. I gave up after a few weeks as it was just so difficult to master even the "simpler" version. 😂. Daniels was a master.
paul Daniels was a performer more than anything! It's possible to learn all the sights for this trick and perform it!..But to perform it seamlessly and in such a flowing way..takes dedication and skill..a master of his art!!!
Can anyone tell me where i can learn this routine , any dvd or book ? i have his Bravura dvd it's not explained there , for those who'll yell " hard sleights , hard routines" i know how to do the flourishes he does with billiard balls .
It’s easy, you can see the shape of his had at the moneys he is holding the balls in his palm, most notably his left hand at the very begging of the trick as he walks on stage
If you watch at quarter speed you can clearly see the moments when the manipulation/deception happens… although it’s still unclear exactly where he puts balls/objects (I’m assuming they aren’t all real snooker balls). A lot of pocket work is my guess.😀
Couple of troublesome camera cuts at key moments here. I have been suspicious about him since he swore he didnt use stooges and clearly does on several stunts.
I know how it's done, and I can say that it's 100% pure skill and no camera trickery. It could be performed exactly the same to a live theatre audience. The moments which I suspect you think are otherwise impossible, they certainly appear that way but are actually extremely clever deceptions which require a very high level of skill to make the effect work. It's an honourable trick, no dirty methods.
No that is what people say when they can't work out how something is done . They think that magic should be simple to work out so therefore if they can't work it out he has to be breaking the rules which he did not
MrGyro FPV I do this trick too. That's not how its done. In my time as a magician I've yet to come accross a trick that actually requires something up your sleeve.
4.19 is when he takes the final ball from under the cloth and puts it in his pocket when he looks for the wand. That’s the most obvious of the transfers.
A huge part of my childhood. Master of his craft. Clean. Stylish. An entertainer in the truest sense.

Surely if they're a fraction / tenth as good as he was... we're seeing a generation of performers that are 10% what they used to be...?
Sadly Paul suffered from billiard balls in real life 😞
And he was a friend of mine. I feel sad too. A true magician and entertainer. Master of the craft
Probably one of the most respected magicians to ever perform in terms of people in the industry
RIP Paul , you are the best
Beautiful routine. If only younger guys would take time to learn this type of magic rather than juggling with cards.
A manipulation act is a manipulation act.
What’s the difference?

I am happy to have met him back in 2012 fism Blackpool, what a class act!
I saw him at the Olympia theatre
Absolute master of his craft. One of the best close up magicians that Britain ever produced

I was working on this trick for about 6 months and still had it nowhere near as professional as what he's doing.
A real master of magic!
a joy to watch.
Turn on subtitles at 0:36
Remember this from when I was wee... xxxxx
3:35 is the best misdirection ever.
Did I miss something
A magician never puts his hand in his pocket for no reason. Every time he does it is usually to dump whatever he is palming
Nah Best Misdirection is Debbie at 3:53 xD ....and that oh la la certainly is not for the quality of the water ^^
Oh my.. He's the Best den
That’s magic!
The magician's all over the world had so much respect for this man he was one of the best
whats the name of that little tune that plays while he performs the trick?
Loved his English
Really really nice effect
Very Cool !!
Every routine trick is a winner.
I saw Paul Daniels live in Dublin in the 1980s and he really was the best in the business.
Magic Class
What is the melody in this video?

check out amateur magicians handbook. a lot of billiard ball shtuff in there
@@justandyisok well you're not going to find this routine in the amateur book
i wouldnt even be able to hold all those balls without dropping them
It took me weeks and weeks to just get the ball from one part of the hand to the other it's so hard
song?

The first thing they teach you about magic is to cup your hands so you're looking there and not where you're supposed to be lol
And it certainly isn't easy if you could perform this trick badly in under a year I would be very surprised
aaaaaaaah freaken nice
only he can vanish like that bf paul daniel MAGNIFI!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't understand how he reduce 2 ball into 1!! Even with 0.25 speed!
Damn Debbie
You can see she is crazy in love with him...
@@emmyjo720 they would eventually marry
Better if you turn off the sound.
Yeah... but an Apple Watch fooled Penn & Teller
Paul was doing amazing stage magic when Penn and teller was still smoking joints in University lol

Even with slow motion you can't work out the whole act that's fantastic

@@jazzmantrey I've only seen one item which was a birdcage that was made 200 years ago that folded up but that's about it
