Long time ago in the late '70's my dad took me to an RC air show at JSC.. I remember a guy out there with a Hawker Hurricane, really big fighter and the pilot of the Hurricane sat up in his seat while he taxis on the runway.. Really impressive to a 10yr old...
Where do you get a radio that talks back to you like this guy has? What are the radios called specifically that talk to you when you make a selection like "take off flaps, and landing flaps".
@@jeffham222 did ur brain ever try to imagine that he was a f4 pilot who is flieing an rc plane atm and not interessted into what the real f4 can while doin that? rly.. use your cells mate
Was stationed at George AFB for 2 years when the Wild Weasels were still active there before the base closure just after Desert Storm ended. Hated working under F-4's. If you've ever had to walk under one and got a Phantom Bite, you'll know what I'm talking about.
How often does a 'radio hit' occur to most flyers? Is it common on both 72hz and 2.4ghz, or is is more isolated to one of the two main frequency bands? ...btw, I am not at all familiar (experienced) to much r/c flying.
Radio hits with 2.4GHz are actually pretty rare, which is why I was surprised it happened. But my field is know to have a couple spots that cause issues with some radios. 72MHz is more susceptible to interference than 2.4GHz.
That brown out was really scary and could have cost you a very nice airplane and a substantial amount of money. I have seen many models with Spectrum receivers have similar problems. RC Geek lost a very nicely repainted F4 due to a receiver failure. Spectrum's answer to receiver failure has been to add satelite receivers. As far as I'm concerned this is a band aid approach and is the reason I don't fly Spectrum. Good luck!!
I didn't have time to get my popcorn today, I was too exited to watch you fly the F-4, what are you planning next time? Perhaps a phoenix model aircraft again? An F4U maybe? Great to see another video from you again man!
Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately no Phoenix models F4-U in the near future, but I have some others in the works (including another warbird). I have an interesting scratch-build that should be next and likely another 3D printed plane as well.
Sir hi, one very disturbing thing I noticed on the F-4 Phantom i.e. the USAF logo on the right side fuselage & left wing is inverted i.e. it has been stuck up side down. WHY
I love watching your channel! I think the planes are so cool.. You know, my stomach poked out like that but my doctor took care of it. Esophageal hiatal hernia surgery.
when you landed without flaps early in the video, how come you didn't deploy your drogue chute to help you slow down? hehehehe! Good flying there by the way.
Fantastic review, great camera work. I have a scale warbird. (In five broken bits at the moment) Dynam 1200mm Spitfire v2 MKIX. It flies great! I unfortunately don`t!
Fitz!!! Missed you, brother. I'm curious (and ignorant). How, exactly, is this thing powered? I guess there is a battery onboard for the electronics and radio, but does it really have a tiny jet engine? That doesn't seem possible or practical. What's the fuel?
Hey...um...who are you, again? The name is not ringing any bells, we know each other from somewhere? The model is all electric powered with a relatively powerful electric motor spinning an impeller at high speed. Uses lithium polymer batteries.
Thanks! for the info. (Yes, I know idiot's question, but I'm ignorant about all of this). Only know you from this channel, but missing your more frequent updates.
Hi Sir There is anyway that I could contact you to meet you at the NASA flying field. Have some electric jet and need hep with them Thank you very much in advance
Why is it you plane guys don’t use crossfire! I’ve gone miles and miles with crossfire without a single glitch. As long as antenna is correctly setup it’s issue free
I use xfire, but sadly you are limited in channel count, unless you buy an sbus converter (and I didn't want to wait for the slow boat from China). Of course, you could buy the full size rx, but that one is nearly $200, large and cumbersome, and harder to get a hold of. TBS cater to quads and wings, not scale aircraft, or aircraft with more advanced control surfaces.
Lovely voice - I'm not even a hobbyist, this came up in my recommendations, and your world seems fascinating :) Thank you for sharing!
Heck yeah what an awesome fella! Thanks for your service! Great flights!
Samono’s hobbies is a couple miles from my house, Mike is always helpful!
Another fantastic video. And featuring one of my favorite planes of all time.
If that was a growler E/a18 I wouldn’t be surprised if it had its em disrupter active lol good save and good flights!!
Oh, my goodness, that's fast! Always enjoy your videos!

What an awesome video in so many ways! Thanks for sharing.
If he flew real F-4 Phantoms in the service why is the fuselage decal on upside down?
Yup. ..and Mach1+ at 100' is suicide. I doubt this guy did as he claims--my BS detector is going off.
That being said, cool model.

If I’m not mistaken, Freewing applies the decals at the factory. So he didn’t apply them himself, it just came that way.

can you trim the gyro remotely ?
Best narration voice ever!

That phantom really wants to be a ghost. Really neat sounds though.
How does this compare to the E Flight Variant?

Nice. Smooth and fast.
My father, Capt. Ken Fletcher, also flew the F4 R in Vietnam.
My dad flew the RF -4 over Vietnam, he said it was the best scariest time of his life
And speaking of rushes at 2:38 !
Good video! Enjoy flying mine too!
I hate how many companies make such sweet RCs. I'm already neck deep in surface RCs and recently purchased my first plane. Lol

@@alliejr It was a good question. I am a beginner as well and sometimes things can get a bit confusing.
They do have f4 model powered by single stage turbine engines..with kerosene for fuel.

It’s not a real on you don’t have to land at 169mph
Stabilators.
why do people need stabilizers shouldnt be flying if you need one
