As an African, also a keen follower of the African Music Scene, I see Ghana is always looking for any opportunity to blame Nigeria for their woes and inconsistent growth of their music on the global stage. I wonder and ask why does GH feel Naija should carry them on their backs to Greatness? What Entitlement!!
Last I checked Naija has been GH's greatest promoter, No other african country comes close and None has enjoyed the Naija Push more than Ghana..so One would ask why complain to the point of being envious of your Nigerian brothers n sisters. This is the same scenario that played out for the movie industry. Ghana pushed Nigeria out from producing films in Ghana, and today U ask what happened to the GH film industry? Why is there little or no growth in the GH film industry? OR is it Naija that should promote GH movies?
    Build your own, GH!!😮

That’s always the mentality of Ghanaians, when they see a new development in Ghana they think it’s the first development in Africa. Herbert Ogundele was the first African actor and producer whose works were shown in Ghana’s theaters in the 1960s and 1970s. I grew up during those decades and will watch Ogundele at Palladium, Opera, Orion and Orbit theaters in Accra. Unfortunately many Ghanaian TV pundits were not born during this period so they can not talk about things they don’t know. I also remember the films of the famous Nigerian boxer, Dick Tiger also played in theaters in Ghana in the late 1960s through to early 1970s. In my school in Accra New Town we had some films of Dick Tiger, because my school had a boxing club at that time. So it baffles me when younger generations today talk about things they don’t know and even their parents were not literate and exposed enough to know about.

I'm a Nigerian, l want to express my disatisfaction with you guys on this radio. None of you could detect the root cause of Ghana's music industry problem. Your so-called stars: Shatta Wale is a Raggae dance hall artist, Sakordie is a hip hop artist, etc. The handfull of Ghana musicians that do Afrobeat can not measure up or compete with the least Nigerian Afrobeat artist.
Consequently, the solution to Ghana music industry woes is Ghana owning its own genre of music, polishing it as the Nigerians have done with their Afrobeat, put in the work and sell it to the World.
If Ghanaians continue on this path, they will keep demoralising their artists until they get them into a state of depression.
What if Ghana polishes their High Life genre and push it to the world??????? To achieve this objective you have to recruit and train new artists. If there's a deliberate effort to achieve this goal, it can be archieved between now and the next five years.
What Ghanaians are doing right now is, "Try to reap where they did not sow."
