Thank you for your kind comment. TH-cam made me remove that track because the BBC has a copyright on that one song. I already posted a link to bittersweet in another comment on this video page. Do you think it's possible to make a playlist that would combine most of my show here along with that one track on the BBC page? and then link back to my video for the rest of the show? I'm not sure if I've ever seen a playlist that combines specific tracks from specific videos.
Amazing set. Just a shame there was no chemistry between them on stage as relations were fragile. Ashcroft basically used the reunion as a tool to launch his solo career further.
@@jamespillar663 I actually spoke to McCabe on FB Messenger of all things when I was on there, when asked about the relationship between him and Ashcroft he said he’d tried to make contact but without success, just said he’d spoken to his wife a couple of times. A few of them want to reunite but RA ain’t interested, sadly.
This is what 2 band mates said, very debatable. I don’t think he needed a tool to launch his solo career. Alone with Everybody had been a success and so would be keys to the kingdom, objectively a beautiful album. He’s won two Ivor Novellos, no other members of the Verve have. So let’s stop blaming him for everything gone wrong
@@graziaguerrini6375 I don't think it's anything to do with his solo stuff (which personally, subjectively, I don't find interesting at all), the awards...I think it is the difference between being a band or a solo artist and some of the Glastonbury set feels (and looks) like a solo singer and "his" band. Their time as a unit was over and that's ok. It certainly not a blame thing.
This show is amazing. Another great one is when they played Coachella during this reunion. This band could’ve been one of the all time greats had they gotten along and stayed together, they were that good. Every time they’ve ever had any kind of momentum, something happened between members or whatever. In all honesty, Ashcroft had a pretty blah solo career when compared to anything he did with The Verve.
I agree. I saw them right before Coachella. I uploaded that recording on my TH-cam channel, but it does not have the energy of this show. Richard loves attention!
The most underrated singer/songwriter from the UK.
And most underrated band
It is crazy most people only know one song from this band. The catalog is so deep.
I agree, although you have to admit that without the Verve at least after the third album his music was mid at best

Good point - no interplay between the band members at all... which makes this a set that's pretty good but (IMHO) is missing heart
