- For our final San Juan Mountains adventure, we headed to the BEAUTIFUL town of Telluride for a half day of exploring, plus hiked the number one trail we wanted to do while in Colorado, Blue Lakes near Ridgway. It was the BEST way to end our time in the area before moving on to a different part of the state!

I was raised in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and having been a ski racer and big game hunter my whole life, I have traveled extensively to all the mountains throughout the western US. Without a doubt, the San Juans are my favorite and to me the most impressive. Great video.

Great video! My favorite hike in Telluride is the Bear Creek Waterfall. It is a must and Little Hawaii is a bonus on the trail. Such a stunningly beautiful place!

Thanks again! I had gone over to Buena Vista but came back to see Telluride! My favorite part (of many things) was driving 12 miles up Last Dollar Road from the airport in the dark and waking up in the morning to the sun coming up on the mountain peaks! I'm back in Arizona now, but thanks so much for showing me the wonderful places in this area!

A lot of amazing awesomeness in this video. Excellent vlog all around. Telluride sure looks swanky and exactly what I envision a ski town to be. The waterfall was great but that hike to the Blue Lakes was insanely incredible. Wow, is all I have to say.
I had no preconceived notion of the San Juans before this year. I knew of the area but that is about it. I followed a CDT thru-hiker’s journey on TH-cam this year and was blown away by the scenery. How have I never even considered this area is beyond me. Then I watched your series on the San Juan’s and was blown away again. So stunning and so much to do. You gave me so many great ideas for a future trip, so thank you.
We can honestly say it is one of the most gorgeous places we have visited in the US! And then throw in the different towns and mining history and it really just blew us away and we fell in love with the area!

We watched this on the big screen and just WOW! All the shops in Telluride were so cute and reminded us of Whistler too! All the waterfalls, blue lakes, colors of the mountains, water crossings and Kona in the snow were AMAZING! This was a fantastic vlog and I could watch over and over…I never want your vlogs to end! We loved our time in the San Juan’s….Gnar tacos in ridgeway was delicious - some of the best tacos we’ve had and we’re from San Diego! We are definitely going back as the gondola in Telluride was closed when we were there 😕. Thanks for all your great ideas, tips and beautiful photography!

WOW, you are masters at making super great adventure and travel video's 🥰👌. I live in Boulder and the Tellride Blue Grass festival was my deceased wifes favorite festivals. We went there every year. I've been to many forest and places, but always find myself going back to telluride and the San Juan mountains. It's peaceful and beautiful. Plus only 7-8 hours from my home in Phoenix. Great video guys!

I was VERY lucky to live and ski in Telluride back in the late 70's - it was one of my favorite places to live/ski. I still visit a couple of times a year. The Strong house Brewery is the BOMB!

So cool that the gondola is free. I visited there in 2010 and wondered if the free rides would last, but I guess they have 🙌 I've always thought Telluride looked a bit more 'continental' as we call it than what Ouray did. We started taking the gondola ride like you guys and went onto hike to a waterfall but definitely wasn't bridal veil. But great minds think alike hey?! I'm so pleased you went back on yourself so you could share those blue lakes with us - absolutely stunning!!! 😍😍 I realise the photo I've seen doing the rounds of you both by a lake over the past couple of weeks was taken here. Reminds me a little of Lake Louise, but so nice to see a completely different backdrop. BUT.... can't believe you guys think it's a better hike than Devil's Garden... 😲 If you buy land for a tiny home in Colorado you would HAVE to learn how to ski or snowboard! Very excited for the epic hike next 👍
So happy you’ve been here too and been on the gondola! We loved Telluride sooo much! 😍 We loved the Utah hikes too, but we are much more green mountain scenery folks than the desert people, so alpine lake hikes will always win for us! And learning to ski is on the list for next year 🙌🏼

Very beautiful country yeah we are thinking very strongly of moving to Durango eventually here we will probably take the drive one day to telluride and go up the free gondola to mountain village very exciting I told my wife about it and she loves the idea of moving to Durango keep up with the good videos they are very motivating.
We love Durango and would totally live there!
I did that hike last Fall. Only made it to Middle Blue Lake but it was amazing. Hope to go back some day.
Had we not been able to go all the way to the top we still would’ve been happy. The views were unreal!
