Wow what fun to watch! Three weeks ago I had the same “after hunt experience”. Took my good friend Wesley on a hunt. The first deer shot on a property I bought in February, on a plot I cleared out of cedars in June and planted in September. Doesn’t get any better.
A shift away from the Growing Deer Tv standards of video production, and now the rehashing of the same exact hunt within a scant few days has caused a desire to follow you on your journey to dwindle. Thanks for all the years of quality content, and I wish you well! Who knows! Perhaps one day, I might sub again, but for now, it's adios!
Grant, I had a question for you regarding rattle calling. After the peak of rut, is it best to not rattle anymore? Or is there a time or the season where calling is not impactful?
Rattling is most effective just before and during the peak of the rut. The odds of a buck coming to rattling decreases after the peak of the but, but this technique can still work.
Hey I just wanna ask for you guys to give me some deer hunting advice, because my dad is planning on taking me hunting next year and I want to be ready.
@@GrowingDeerTV gotta have each other's backs, thanks for what you do. I love watching what you do start to come through other hunters and TH-cam hunting channels.
That depends on your area and the available groceries. All their southern Missouri bucks look small to me because I'm in southern Wisconsin. My brother went on a hunt in Ontario and said he passed on a 140 buck the 1st night, but the guide corrected him that the buck was probably 160...can't forget the mature bucks there go 300-400 pounds. We've shot a 400 lb buck in Wisconsin...co-op scale had him dressed at 320 lbs. I arrowed one 2 years ago that left me with 73 lbs of meat to process, after the backstraps and the loins were removed...chest like a 50 gallon drum.
Nice shot on the coyotes and congratulations on Shorty. Where I hunt the coyotes are very skittish, not likely to get 3 to show up at the same time.

@@GrowingDeerTV thank you for advice. Much appreciated.
Great vid. What caliber?
Winchester .243!
What part of Missouri are you in because our acorns are still everywhere and it’s almost December..
I’m in southeast MO and still seeing tons of acorns. I think he’s more south than I am though.

Start by being safe! Gun safety is very important! Then have fun!
@@GrowingDeerTV ok thx
Grant your shots all seemed to be a little high
I noticed that - and will adjust at the range before hunting with that gun. Thanks!

I still wouldn't call that a mature buck. Most mature bucks are still gonna be close 200lbs even in the rut. He's young yet.
He's hurt
