Thank you for sharing Yokohama Chinatown. I will visit Japan for the first time next month. I am Cantonese. When I want to eat dim sum, I would tell my family or friends “let’s go to yum cha (飲茶)” which means that let’s go to tea house to drink tea and have dim sum. Yum cha is translate as drink tea.
My husband and I are going in May and I am definitely going to try a lot of the places you all went to- my mouth was salivating. thank you for taking us on this wonderful tour and giving us the names of the places I took screenshots of them so I have them in my foodie tour book. Keep on having great adventures and sharing with us. Happy new year.
Thank u for sharing this segment and answering some of my questions before i even asked! 😄. Glad u made it here! Great job as always! Thank you for doing your research before going in so that u hit the ones that most ppl recommend. U guys never disappoint! So glad u did this. I missed this spot. I hit nikko hakone n metro tokyo. Loved it and am planning on going back! U guys rock!!! Keep up the great job!!! Mahalo!
Wow! Thanks for another food fest. I missed out on the cute baos the last time I was there so I was happy to see that you tried them. You covered so much on this trip. Hope you had some down time to yourselves.
Interesting Chinese Japanese foods ! Looks delicious ! Awesome you guys tried the Chinese foods ! Interesting roast pork & Char sui ! Chinese meat pie looks good ! Egg Tart looks so good ! Foodie Ohana thank you for sharing ! Have Fun !!!
Amanda & Felix...I was so very happy to see a continuation of the Japan episodes. They are awesome with many new foods to try out there. Looked ono! The Panda Bao was new & seemed delicious. Amanda, it immediately reminded me of Chef Bae. I'm hoping we get to see a mainland episode with her in it too some day. :-0) And that meat pie Felix, oh man. Looked so packed with flavor. I'll take 1 dozen. Yum. I'm hungry... Sold, LOL!
The bun at 13:40 is a Taiwanese black pepper bun, a popular street food/snack at Taiwanese night markets. They are cooked in a super hot clay oven like a tandoori. Super addicting!
Wow way to dodge that bird. Dexterity saving throw nat 20. Great content. Amanda your hair looks fantastic this episode. That chicken manhole cover looks phenom too.
@@AmandaFelixEats It was about the same, both the number of people and the food. Since the exchange rate has improved for us, the food is a lot cheaper. Their buffet was a little different in that you ordered off the menu rather than getting your own food. We didn't do any research on where to eat so we went to the place with the most people in line figuring that it must be good and it was. Like you mentioned, Chinese food a not the same as in Hawaii or the mainland, but it was still good.
Looks sooooo goood!!!! We just went to Chinatown in Yokohama but only got the caramelized stawberries on a stick. We were mainly there to take some video and photos of the area and Dr fish foot cleaning place. 🤗🤙🏽😊
Hi Amanda and Felix. I’m making my trip to Japan soon. I have watched all of your videos and more to watch. I love that you guys put the locations of the places you visit. Just asking, what if you don’t speak Japanese, what is your advice to ordering food? With the food, can you order the same food twice if you like it?
Thank you Felix and Amanda for another wonderful video! Surely one must stop by Chinatown while in Yokohama! Are you guys Hawaiians of Chinese descent? 😁🙏🏻
Wow they have awesome dim sum there 😍😍 I’ve mer tried duck before,I am afraid it’s very strong I flavour, but I want to try it out once. All the dim sum looks pretty tasty though. I love that street food, those looked magnificent, especially those cute buns 😍
With regards to the Bambucha Chicken in a bun. Sometime check out the Pork Scnitzel Burger from the Midwest, mostly WI and Iowa. Looks like what you imagined.
I’m from Maui and I live in Yokohama! Now I gotta get my hungry butt to Chinatown. You must tell us the name of the Egg Tart shop. You really sold it. 😋
I love that panda bun place. We went with the savory options when we were there but you can’t go wrong either way. So nice to revisit the area with you guys. :-)
For Dimsum you had is there a lot of choices that don’t have seafood on it. Or is it easier to determine if they they have shrimp/crab on some of the item
Wow! $16 for AYCE?! Exchange rate is awesome now. Thanks for explaining the differences between here and Japan. Too bad the duck was a fail. I love Peking duck, but everything else looked good.
OMG, that's so cheap for all you can eat! I love dim sum (funny enough, the Aussies call it "yum cha" too) in any form, so really enjoyed you checking out the different food in Japan. I will remember all your advice the next time I go to Japan....thanks for always taking us along on your adventures! 😃
Dim Sum refers to the food (dumplings), Yum Cha refers to the meal (tea/lunch). So you went for Yum Cha and ate Dim Sum. I found the Chinese food in Yokohama tasted slightly different from here in Toronto, Ontario Canada as well. The Japanese are more conservative with the added salt & fat, so the flavours are a little more bland.
Seems like the Dim Sum/Yum Cha at Yokohama is a mixture of taiwanese, cantonese and japanese chinese dishes. The sesame bun is the taiwanese baked meat bun, probably it resembles the pot pie.

Happy to see the Japan content continuing.
We're happy you enjoy them! 🤙
Amanda that was ninja level pigeon dodging skills ! So impressed !

In Australia they also call dimsum yumcha
Good to know!
I actually buy Korean soy sauce at my local Asian market, I enjoy the flavor more. Awesome video!
Love the korean soy sauce with kim bap!
Interesting... usually, crab claw serves during special occasions and not dimsum. But I love having it myself. I love those cute panda bun
It was almost too cute to eat!
😍😍😍 Another awesome episode, you guys tried so many really cool things ... good to see how the Chinese food differs in Japan vs Hawaii.
We tried as many things as we could!
I'm hungry, looks so good. We went to Chinatown in Yokohama in 2019.
Does it look different from then? It was probably more lively when you went! 🤙

Peking duck is delicious when done right! 🤤
In India in some states chicken filled in dough which we called maida are famous.
Maida is delicious!

Hey guys, you should try Daishin-tei 148 Dairskujimchi, hachioji,Tokyo . My favourite Chinese restaurant

I watched this when it first came out, but rewatching this made me wonder if you really liked that dim sum restaurant. Is it worth it?

We wish we got some of the savory ones as well! Good to hear from you Mark! We hope you're having a blast! 🤙
Yum Cha means drink tea
🤙
For Dimsum you had is there a lot of choices that don’t have seafood on it. Or is it easier to determine if they they have shrimp/crab on some of the item
It would either say if it's a seafood item or through pictures 👍
Very envious!
🙏🤙
I heard that crunch all the way in NYC!😂
😂😂😂
Do you have google maps that yummy places ?
Japan's Chinatown is the cleanest Chinatown in the world. It's the ONLY Chinatown where if I dropped a dumpling on the ground I would still eat it!🤣
😂😂 come to think of it, it was clean!🥳
lol the bird trying to yoink your grapes
😂

Right?!? Amazing🤤
Amanda....Is the filling in the Panda bao closer to black sugar bao from Manapua trucks?
It was more bean pastey than those 😋

Watching this while lying in bed not a good idea!
Is felix rocking an AP royal oak offshore with chronograph? On second thought maybe it’s a g shock that just looks like an AP from far off.
You nailed it! Casio oak clear edition 👍
@@AmandaFelixEats oh it is clear. On the phone it looked stainless in the sun.
I would like to see that bambucha chicken before it got cooked! Dat ting was sumo sized!
For real! It was bigger than our heads!
Msg is good for you 👍 hahaha🎉
Next time you go I’ll set up guys up. Oh and get that asahi super dry extra cold.
Love Asahi in a frosty mug! 👍
@@AmandaFelixEats but the extra cold is served at -2c it’s a feature and a rare item lol.
I am also keen to have mochi .
Love mochi!
WOW....The "offerings" @ Setsuen looking Oishi!-lol...Think Hawaiian/Chinese cuisine is rooted, mainly, in Cantonese/Mandarin/Szechuan cooking....
Yes! A lot of Chinese influence 👍
Any dim sum is a good dim sum...
True! 🤤🤙
Peking duck IS served with crepe, not fluffy bun and soup dumplings with straws are quite common in China
You guys should know the real name of each Dim Sum Dish! ^^^^
Dim Sum refers to the food (dumplings), Yum Cha refers to the meal (tea/lunch). So you went for Yum Cha and ate Dim Sum.
