    I recently changed out my standard fit Ford Ranger rear shocks with Ironman Foamcell Pro (comfort valved). The differences is noticeable and it’s a better suspension than it was before. I’m considering the front shocks will be changed to Ironman Foamcell pro in the future….

    Great video, thanks for making this. Can the collars be adjusted while on the vehicle? If so, what is the right way to do it? I need to bump one corner up half an inch but, being an amateur, I don't want to spend a whole day uninstalling and disassembling the coil over. It's the 200 series land cruiser FCP shock with heavy 600lb springs.

      It depends on you intended use of the vehicle. Foam Cell Pro is nice because it can handle everything you throw at it and is fully rebuildable. I would reach out to your local Ironman 4x4 dealer for their best advice.

    Im getting the 3" foam cell pro kit for my tacoma. I will be adding a 125lb bumper soon Ironman advised me that i can adjust the coilovers for the added weight.. but i dont know how much to adjust them? I would like to do so before they are installed but do i just need to wait until i add the bumper to readjust them to compensate for the added weight?

    • @Ironman4x4America
      @Ironman4x4America  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can set them for the 3" of lift. Then before you install the suspension kit park the truck on level ground and measure from the center of each wheel up to the bottom edge of the fender. Do this for all 4 corners and record the measurements. Then install the suspension kit, drive it around a bit, and remeasure to compare the data. With the bumper and winch installed in the front evaluate the two measurement sets to decide if the front needs to be adjusted or not. Hope this helps!

    What spanner wrench are you using? Don't see that on your site. If you don't sell any what is the pin size/diameter that works with these collars? I about destroyed my knuckles using a set pin that snapped when trying to loosen the lock collar.

    Can we adjust the coilovers when it is installed in the tacoma or do we need to take it out and compress the coil to adjust the height of the coilovers?

    • @Ironman4x4America
      @Ironman4x4America  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the coil-over on the vehicle it can be done but you are fighting the weight of the vehicle compressing the coil. It's much easier to pull it out and make the adjustment on the bench.

    • @Ironman4x4America
      @Ironman4x4America  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We set them according to the spring choice which depends on the vehicle and load. We do not set them at max height so there is more room for additional preload if desired.

    Good tip on not using an impact wrench on the nylon nut. Never use them on nylocks. They will create too much heat and melt the nylon rendering it useless.

    Went to Ironman HQ retail store in Sherwood, OR today. I bought the Foam Cell Pro front struts and Heavy Load springs for 2011 Tundra. I started to assemble them tonight... aaaaand the lower portion of the spring will not slide over the strut. It does not fit. The inside diameter of lower portion of the spring is smaller than the outside diameter of the strut.
    I checked the part numbers and they are correct. Soooo... I go to the website and it says clearly in red letters that the heavy load springs... "NOTE: Only works with Foam Cell Shock, NOT Foam Cell Pro". The woman behind the counter failed to tell me that they won't work with the Foam Cell Pro struts before she went back and got the parts out of the warehouse. Now I have to spend another $30+ in fuel to drive back down there and get this resolved with the correct springs. Hopefully they will compensate me somehow for my time and fuel for having to drive down the twice because of their mistake. 🤷‍♂️

      So sorry to hear about your coils, super frustrating. It sounds like you might have the incorrect coils as our TOY063C heavy Tundra front coils should fit the Foam Cell Pro struts.
