Glad to hear the praises of justice smith he’s been one of the most underrated/under-appreciated actors for years since first discovering him through the get down on Netflix the way he’s been able to transform into different characters especially characters of different age levels like he truly doesn’t age at all you wouldn’t expect this man to be in his late 20s, insane but I hope this film pushes him to the forefront
There is so much to appreciate about this movie. It was the only movie of 2024 that I HAD to see back to back in theaters. After I heard about the directors intent, I liked it even more.
I liked it, I didn't feel like any agenda was thrust down my throat. Left me with a couple questions and was talking about it hours after it ended, so that is usually a good sign.
I want to know if you saw Kneecap the Irish language film comedy , following the rise of the Belfast rappers, who played themselves. And won the Sundance audience prize?? I’m hoping you saw it
Great film that I'm definitely going to see twice in theaters. It's a brilliant look inside the mind of someone suffering from autism and the alliance he makes with a queer female (who also may be on the spectrum) over their love of a 90's style TV show. It's so good.
Saw this last night, and while it won't be an awards contender, it should be. It really really should be. BUT - and I hope this doesn't come off rude - I despise the term "elevated horror." It's demeaning and dsimissive, and an insult to both the films it's intnded to represent (it doesn't), and the horror films it's intended to exclude. This is a movie about how a cheesy Buffy-esque 90s series resonated deeply with these two queer outcasts and gave them a form of expression they did not otherwise have. Calling the film "elevated" is rejecting its own themes and influences. Love your channel, by the way!
You know that every view and comment you leave on a TH-cam video increases how much that creator gets paid, right? So your angry engagement is putting more money in the pocket of the people you hate! Thanks again for supporting the "stupid and so woke" agenda!
@@roccocupido5082 yea your comment was dumb as shit that’s why I said hehe you played yourself. The director is trans dummy you should’ve looked into the director if you got so triggered from ppls sexual preferences dumbass
I feel like it might be worth it for you to examine why: 1. You believe the director is mentally ill, especially compared to the views of those who believe they are not. 2. Why that made you loose hype and get grossed out. You aren't wrong to believe or feel the ways you feel. I just find it might be worth the process of finding more about yourself.
fun fact: it is produced by Emma Stone and her husband Dave McCary
Just a heads up, Jane (the Director) uses They/Them pronouns! Loved the review :)
as does brigette lundy-paine!
@@peacheslatour1237oh really? I had no idea. Maybe that influenced Jane to pick them

Same! Seen it 3 times already
The Pink Opaque... well, the Director has to be a Cocteau Twins fan so I'm in 🙂
It was a placeholder name but they are such big fan of Cocteau Twins that it was kept as the final name.

Honestly, I'm surprised that you commented on Justice's performances of different ages, I found it less believable than you did.
OMG...stop using the term "elevated horror." It's such an unbelievably pretentious description and it degenerates the rest of the genre.

Thanks for your input. I'm going to see it in an HOUR!!!
you should watch sharper with justice smith
Looking forward to the soundtrack
Thanks for the review. I will look for it.
It's stupid and so woke and self consciously agenda driven as to be unwatchable

😂 weak take but at least you gave money to this great film hehe

The reviews i’ve seen either didn’t really care for it or just being being polite about it.

Once I saw a mentally ill person made it I lost all hype and got a little grossed out

There are movies directed by non mentally ill people?!
