They need to make a dead rising set on a cruise ship. It would be somewhat similar to the mall setting but it would also have the benefit of being stranded in the middle of the ocean.

Meanwhile, Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite (a game from 2017) has Frank West, Dante from DMC, and Chris Redfield all having their OG voice actors and appearance. All three after having their own games that changed their VAs and appearance. Thought that was interesting
I’d like to believe that this is a movie that the real Frank West is watching, and at the end of the game/movie it would pan out to show the theater and Frank commenting “well that was a load of crap”. As he exits the theater he sees that another outbreak as started up while he was watching and it shows Frank West, voiced by TJ Rotollo and says “the real Frank West is back” And that my friends is how I would show a teaser trailer for Dead Rising 5
As cathartic as this would be I’d rather they just stop trying with frank, trying to double back and bring back “real frank” would just be shitting on the VA for this game and he honestly doesn’t deserve it
I 'd love to see that, like he leaves the near empty theater (he looks back to see a couple making out) he leaves only to find everyone in the theater is gone and when he looks outside he sees people being eaten by zombies and all Frank says "You've got to be fucking kidding me!"
Capcom as a company always does this, driving their series into the ground, and then a few years pass and they release a new one in the franchise that rejuvenates the franchise. Here's hoping Dead Rising: Please Accept Our Apology comes soon.
33:16 the blender juices weren't removed in DR3, they were instead implemented into the combo system (so holding two food items would allow you to combine them). very weird decision but i guess it was a little more convenient that way but can be easy to miss
I had my wisdom teeth out right after I bought this game and, I swear, being high on painkillers is the only reason I was able to get past the first 20 minutes and actually finish the game
I like to make believe that the main character really is Hank East. Pretending to be. K I typed this as you brought up the theory. There are no such things as an original thought.
This Frank feels like a Ash Williams and Frank West had an evil kid together, I get so many Ash vibes (which isn’t bad, it just doesn’t fit Frank) they got inspired by other characters for sure, and they wanted to make him feel fresh, but missed the mark
Frank *sees something shocking in DR* "Jesus christ!" Frank *sees something shocking in DR2 OTR* "Well what do we have here?" "Frank" *sees a couple of maniacs running up on him in DR4* "am I supposed to be scared of you maniacs? 'cause am a little"
Just a few things: - I think the reason people HATE DR4 is that they believe it is the biggest insult to the series. A game series that once was using everything in a mall as a weapon to survive became a mindless hack-and-slash, arcade-like series. Crowbcat made a great comparison video between DR1 and DR4 that manages to get his point across without any commentary. GhenryPerez also made a great video describing the marketing behind this game as the studio constantly bragged that they were "going back to their roots" (even though they didn't make the first game and this game does NOT in any way capture the spirit of the original) and, at some points, even say their story would be better than the first two games. His video is called "developing deception." I highly recommend it. - I actually think the plot has some potential with the clone aspect and Dr. Barnaby's research. But, they don't dive into it, big surprise. Instead, they focus on dumb characters, shallow gameplay, and terrible writing. -Everyone can agree on this Frank essentially being a completely different character. -I'm sure that people will spam this in the comments, but the Brad character who meets Frank is a returning character from one of the DR3 DLCs. Again, great work on the analysis.
That's the first I heard of the Brad thing, very weird. No clue why they named him Brad or made him so useless of a character. It's outright nuts how many interesting ways they could have taken the story/themes. Like i said, a planet of the apes take with sentient zombies vs humans would have been rad. The ethical dilemma of killing diseased humans(zombies) was brought up for nothing, yet again(like in DR2). Cloning was brought up for no reason, even though it could have been used as a way to explain why Frank was so different. He was cloned. (i'm not sure how or why, but honestly, it would at least clear the not-frank issue up). The slave labor zombies thing was never really discussed in-depth for some reason. There was barely a mention of climate change/humans destroying the earth besides that one time calder mentioned it. So many ways they could have taken the story, but went with "frank and vick are mad at each other, now they're not" and "investigation of the big monster" angles instead. Fucking RIP.
What annoys me is that Capcom Vancouver directed OTR which had Frank and he felt more like a natural evolution of Frank from dead rising 1 then in this. Like all they had to do is write Frank like they did in OTR and you would at least solve the problem of Frank being incredibly out of character.
To me i can see what were trying to do with Frank joking around in Dead rising 4 as Giving the fact he got PTSD he most likely trying to joke around as a way of dealing with his issues and problems and not trying to deal with the fears of things but the way it was handled makes me think they wren't even trying to find a way to help find a better way of giving frank a new way to deal with his PTSD
Fun fact: plans for a Dead Rising 5 was in development by CAPCOM VANCOUVER, but it would’ve been a midquel, where we would’ve been reunited with Chuck Green and Katy, where they would’ve gone to Mexico. However, the game was cancelled due to CV shutting down but there are gameplay on what the game could’ve looked like. Just thought I’d bring this up. (And now we’re getting a remake of the first game)
I wish that Capcom will do a reboot of this franchise or just go back to it. I miss the original Dead Rising, it would be nice if a new game could be developed in house
Bro, I just binged all of your dead rising critiques today, and I’m blown away, they’re so thorough, I’m very impressed. Reminds me of the Shrek films, as both those films and your videos are of incredible quality
By the time this game was made CV had gone through so many employee changes that nobody who really worked on Dead Rising 2 was even around anymore. At best there was still staff who worked on 3... as their only dead rising game.
I remember when I first heard Franks voice and the utter disappointment that immediately sank in afterwards. He sounds so much like Bender from Futurama it's ridiculous, and I can't hear anything else. He even fucking acts like Bender sometimes. I've really dug these Dead Rising vids, they've been fantastic and the effort put into these babies is most appreciated. As far as I'm concerned the first is and always will be a classic, but I'll be damned if it isn't tough to play it these days. It's one of those games that just stresses me the fuck out, probably because I'm way older now than when I first played it. Life is now one big time crunch, so I guess I try to steer clear of that type of shit with my entertainment. Great vids, I've had a blast!
Yeah, the whole "Livestock for meat produce" thing wasnt apparently the reason that zombies happened, no no no Its because Barnaby wanted to discover immortality? I mean come on, Barnaby was insane, but he wouldnt ever exploit zombies for the use of human evolution - all it was is to meet demands for meat consumption
They should have down a dead rising game where the location is a theme park (Something like a Disney/Six Flags parody) under lockdown after an zombie outbreak unfolds.
Dead Rising 1 i played thru 6+ times, survival mode played around 60+ hours over the years (that mall music still haunts me and plays in my head at random.) Dead rising 2 i played thru twice and mostly enjoyed. Came back a few times for fun and achievements. Dead rising 2.5 I played twice by myself and another time in co op with my wife and liked it better than 2 Dead rising 3...I tried to co op it with my wife but we wandered away to other games at the halfway point. Didn't enjoy it as much and haven't returned to it. Dead rising 4 i started it before i learned what they had done to the game, played a few hours in disappointment. Ended up feeling disgusted by the whole experience and uninstalled.
In regards to the character of Brad, he was a playable character in one of the Dead Rising 3 DLC expansions. Capcom Vancouver brought him in this game for some reason.
I remember being hyped for dead rising 4. I was a big fan of the series and I even liked 3 , it was fun. When the reviews came I was thinking „it cant be that bad” and then when I started playing I got to know that its even worse.
They can simply redo the entire game like a Zack Snyder cut type of thing to try and make it feel Canon and redo the entire game completely by having stuff that makes Dead Rising Iconic like the timer, Frank West being Frank West and not a joke, and the psychopaths I think idea of a Christmas themed Dead Rising game is great on paper just wish it wish we didn't get this
When I firts saw the teaser for dr4 I didn't realise it was frank sat in the chair. I thought the main guy from the deadrising movies would be the main character. He is also a freelance journalist but in the first one he stuggles to kill a single zombie in an allyway filled with random objects.
You watch.. Dead Rising 5 will have the real frank talking about the events of dead rising 4 being a nightmare he had. "I even died at the end and became a zombie"
Y'know, there's a part of me that's really glad Frank's original VA didn't voice him in 4. It means I can completely separate Frank West from the fourth game entirely. Fourth Frank looks and sounds nothing like actual Frank, so you know what? It's not Frank 🙄 Thanks, Capcom.
I really enjoyed this entire critique and respect your thoughts about DR4. Moreover thanks a lot for the time stamps and the way you made your essay. Left a like 👍
Look DR4 is easily the worst Dead Rising game but I still had an absolute blast playing it. DR4 is nowhere near as good as the previous games in almost every way but I clocked in 80 to 100hrs and didn't regret it. I missed the timer a little, Hated maniacs compared to psychos, and really really missed co-op. Environmental interactions were much less varied than the others and the inventory was very simplified. I liked the safe zones better than 3 and I loved the megaplex as well as the Christmas setting tbh. I don't think it's a bad game only a bad DR game.
Safe zones are a copy unlike 3 their different and more unique than shitty dr4 and 100 hours? Dear god u watsed 100 hours of your life just down the drain and u can't even interact with any of the objects for example when u enter a sportrance in the mall it won't let u pick a baseball bat in dr1 and Dr2 you can. Pick up anything in dr4 the game tells you what is a weapon it takes the point out of a dead rising game your suppose to use anything as a weapon and this game has the worst inventory system in the world what if u pick up a chair on accident and u try to drop the chair and u can't and the themes are terrible not one memorable theme in the entire game and tj isn't voicing frank anymore
I bought DR4 on steep sale a few years ago and have yet to finish it. There’s no feeling of progression or interest to keep you going/slogging through it.
Bought the game on sale with all dlcs included. Uninstalled less than an hour in. I don't really remember what pushed me to do so other than probably being like "so they were right, this game IS awful"
I had a similar reaction tbh. Well, you watched the intro, I said it there, but hey man I'll say it again, for sure. I was REALLY into the idea of making a video on why DR4 was good, better than what everyone says. Then I played it, and that thought fizzled out real quick.
About dead rising being… dead we just got shown a dead rising remaster/remake so there is some hope but Franks classic voice actor is not coming back unfortunately but I guess it makes sense since it’s a young frank west.
Hey, I noticed your a smaller channel but even a whole year later I found all your dead rising videos so entertaining! Keep it up you should definitely have more subs
The people that made this game didn't even work on Dead Rising 3 or Dead Rising 2 games, it was a seperate studio. The Dead Rising 3 story with Carlito was fine since he did create children that were infected as we saw in the first game. Him creating an immune child that was a cure was fine too since Carlito didn't want to destroy humanity, he wanted to paint a message. Isabella being manipulative and conning us and Frank and Chuck was actually great writing. Anne was also the writer for Dead Rising 3, she was co-writer for Dead Rising 2, she was the writer for Case 0, Case West, and Off the Record, so I think her work was great as usual. I didn't like the nonsensical changes here and you can tell that Anne wasn't part of the writing team cause so much was wrong with this world, even if you were to exclude Frank from this. Like you mentioned, teleporting monsters, but also talking zombies, magic weapons, scrap, and exo suits. Just ridiculous. I agree that making changes to Barnaby was horrible since he actually was a good guy in the first game and he was trying to end world hunger. This one has him as being evil and trying to discover immortality ? Like what ? We know what his intentions were cause he mentioned it as did Carlito and Isabella. This further shows that this has to be an alternative universe and it explains the changes to Frank. I like your thinking when you mention "Can zombies be considered as equal individuals ?" Yet that was a huge story point in Dead Rising 2 already. That's what CURE was for and I thought it was a great addition to the series. Terror Is Reality also was creative writing and something else that seperated this series from other zombie games. I hope that we get a reboot with new characters, no combo weapons, and a modern mall. Start over and fresh. It would be cool to have TJ and Peter (Frank and Chuck) return to voice new characters.
i feel like this game is somewhat better than the 3rd game but not by much. I do wish though that mainstream titles would make one game around the christmas theme it would be nice.
I'm gonna be an oddball here but I actually liked Dead Rising 4 But I feel it needs some context, I was poor, I just discovered what humble bundle was and that you could get 8 games for like a tenner or whatever and I hadn't owned a new game in over a year, and DR4 happened to be the headlining game that month. So it's like being a dying man in a desert and finding some lukewarm water But yeah I enjoyed it, if only because it was the first new thing I played in over a year. Not a glowing recommendation I know,
I totally feel that. I think we all have a story similar to yours, where you just didn't have many options and what you did have/got for cheap held you over in a surprisingly enjoyable fashion. I get it.
Here a year later and got your dead rising videos recommended, hadn’t heard of you before but I love these videos and they must have been a *hulk* of a task to undertake.
Thanks for the love! Always cool to hear people stumbling on relatively older videos as their first impression of my channel. Hulk didn't end up happening quite yet, but I did just make a video on a shrek game or two! Thanks for taking the time to pause the video on a single frame you mad person, you.
If DR4 renamed its protagonist and ditched the dead rising name and connections to the previous games the it might’ve sold half as much but at least the reviews would probably be half okay
i just played all four games in the dead rising series (as someone whos never played them before) and the people who made dead rising 4 shouldnt even be allowed to eat lunch in the same room as the people who made dead rising 2
If there ever is a deadrising 5 I wanna have hope for it bc I've always been a huge fan of dead rising and a comeback is always possible so I'm willing to see what the future holds
@@taskforcekillah9722 . Only way it would be successful. Original game is still the best in the franchise. It basically was so odd and out there. There is nothing like it at all to this day. It is really sad that Dead Rising 3 and 4 basically became like any other zombie game on the market. The earlier ones were their own thing
I honestly like the pumpkin head guy. Does he belong in a dead rising game? Maybe if he stopped teleporting and shooting fire balls. Does he belong in a Christmas game? Loll. But still I can't hate on a pumpkin head with a fire scythe who teleports. Wish he were in a better game.
He seems like a cool boss fight in a shit game honestly. Crazy huge dead rising fan every since chop till you drop when I was In mid school. I refuse to play this dumpster of a game.
Every time I think about this game I always am confused as how they made 3 seem like a decent game in comparison. Who thought limiting the amount of weapon typea you have to 3 and restricting their uses was a good idea for a zombie killing sandbox game like dead rising? And removing most of the things that made the games fun like psychos just makes this feel like they never understood what people actually liked from 1 2 and hell even 3
For all your complaints about the senseless murder of human enemies, did you forget how even back in the original Frank cut down through dozens of cultists without batting an eye? If there is a game to delve into the toll of taking a human life, it is definitely not Dead Rising.
@@Deadsea_1993 How do we know that? Cliff had an emotional death scene - he also strung people up and tortured them to death with a machete. Totally possible the cult roped in some innocent people, as cults tend to. Or did Willamette just have a few hundred serial killers sitting around that we just weren’t told about?
What i thought was that they went full Ash from Evil Dead with Frank but with way more dumb Humor. In some Screenshots back then without Context i even thought it's an Evil Dead Game because of the Color of his basic Clothing. It just doesn't match the Character for me.I like Evil Dead btw, but well, this is Dead Rising.
The new map felt nothing like Willamette at all and the Christmas theme makes playing this slog of a game feel so out of place any time of the year. How did they fuck this up so bad? I pray this isn’t the last Dead Rising game we’re gonna get but honestly it seems hopeless at this point. Here’s hopes that Dead Rising 1 or 2 gets the Resident evil 4 VR treatment though.
Let's hope for a reboot. Like I wouldn't mind a new universe with new characters, no combo weapons, a new modern mall, new bad guy, etc. I think that an emphasis on the first game with modern technology would be good. I don't really want an open world. The first two as semi open world sandbox games were the Pinnacle of the series. Open world with towns and a giant city was a huge step backwards. We just need to start over entirely like Resident Evil 7 did at this point. I'd be all for TJ and Peter returning to voice new characters and we would say, that's Frank and Chuck ! Yet I don't want anymore stories from the old franchise. 3 was the ending, 4 never existed, that's it. Plus the first game was set in 2006 and we've seen that 4 had an ok idea about a giant mall set in 2021, albeit the wrong idea about ignoring it and making it giant for no reason. Just have a modern mall that is decent size in a major city and make it the only area to explore like Willamette Parkview Mall was.
@@Deadsea_1993 um dude they tried that with saints row I don't have much hope for man kind anymore and if they tried to reboot the series it would be god awful probably
I wrote a comment in another video why "Dead Rising Fell Off"......Well it comes down to number of factors. For one, the whole '3 Days Until The Military Arrives" game story mechanics is too out dated for new younger players. Also, The zombie horror genre changed......its not about linear straight to the point game play anymore. Now with big budgeting writers for more popular titles such as "Resident Evil", "Dead Island", "Dying Light" & 'Days Gone" that also are Open World Sandboxes gave players a world to explore. Although, DR4 was open like but what turned us off was the map was too small & out in the world it wasn't nothing more to do but rescue distress citizens like the previous games . At this point, we wouldn't need a "DR5".....unless Capcom is willing to invest with better story writers, allow a vast open world with great quest & lastly, a great customization menus. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Barnaby's cat named flamel is actually kinda funny, being that is the last name of the alchemist who supposably made the philosophers stone , a path to immortality
Deadrising 3 still has blender juice buffs but in comparison to the previous games they are much more underwhelming. Quickstep specifically got fucked over as now it just gives infinite stamina instead of giving a super boost with movement speed. But yeah overall talk about a drop. Least the first two games are still enjoyable zombie romps.
I don't know if someone's commented this before but I think the animated video cutscene was made to be used in a advertisement. If I remember correctly they ran it up to and during the release of the game.
I genuinely didn’t know that’s how you spelt segue. I don’t think I’ve ever had to spell it before but if I did I would absolutely write Segway. You learn something new everyday
3 years late but i'm so glad you pointed out how unusually good the animated intro is for how bad the rest of the game is. It has the perfect sense of tragedy i don't see in a lot of zombie media nowadays - the loss of humanity in a time and place supposed to be full of joy and people. Unironically one of the better intros to a zombie game.
Frank has layers. Like Ogres. And also like Ogres Frank doesn't work if you changed his motivations, personalities and voice. This talk of ogres makes me think of a green guy you might be familiar with: Bruce Banner works best when he's a smart scientist trying to hold back his rage. But I can appreciate when they take his two personalities and combine them like in Endgame. The Incredible Banner is interesting. Anyways I'm not sure what I'm saying but your entire catalog of DR videos got me through a long day of work. So thank you! I'm excited to watch more of your analysis especially Oh, also Shrek
The whole frank west voice actor reminds me of how fans defend the voice acting change from batman arkham city to arkham knight saying that the characters in origins sound different because it supposed to be younger but Arkham Origins and Asylum only take place not even ten years apart, so there is no reason Batman and Joker's voices should have changed that much
How do you not have more subs. Love it. Quality of a 100k channel with only 6k keep it up Edit: just saw you have less than 2k. How is that even possible.
I've been watching this critique series and I gotta say you gotta give it to this guy for being a small youtuber and making good content like this Im currently streaming the full game in separate parts but I in no way am worried about spoilers, though I actually enjoy the game tbh I cant lie and say I haven't ran into a few problems but damn we barely get to be in the mall? that sucks
1. Thank you 2. Yes 3. Hard to say. I had more fun with DR4, but that had a lot to do with expectations. DR3 was such a shock to the system it made me set my expectations accordingly for the next game. I think DR4 is a worse game, but only thanks to not being able to throw melee weapons and Frank's voice actor. I liked that it didn't crash or have any performance issues, and I liked the color palette not being grey and brown. Gun to my head, I have to play one of them for 20 more hours, I'm going dead rising 3 if the DLC I didn't get to counts. If not, and it's the main game, I'm going dead rising 4. Both suck, though.
@@Dorkaxe obviously opinions are like assholes but I'd happily play dr3 over 4 with or without the threat of death lol. But that's what makes reviews fun. Someone is always going to disagree with you and it's great to talk about it.
@@iraloS . 4 was downright far worse. Both sucked compared to the earlier games, including the dlcs and Off the Record, but 3 did still feel like a Dead Rising game. Not a good Dead Rising game, we can agree on that, but I never questioned myself as to what franchise was I playing ? Case files felt familiar, combo weapons and vehicles were wtf levels and yet they felt familiar. The world and toy shops with servbot toys felt familiar. Food and inventory was like the earlier ones. There were still Psychopaths, while weaker than the Psychos from the first two games by a very large margin, they still acted as bosses and had reasons for what they were doing. You still had survivor escorting to a number of them and they had requests for you. The story gets a lot of shit, but I felt it has moments. Yeah the Diego fight in the museum felt nothing like Dead Rising to me, but I did like the story about Nick and the return and closure of story arcs with Isabella, Chuck, and Katey. 4 just plays out like bad fanfiction and even if Frank West wasn't here, I wouldn't classify it as Dead Rising at all. Exo suits, scrap, talking zombies, etc, just bizarre. Everything has been dumbed down and stripped badly where specific weapons and items are restricted now. No more tossing a table across the room or creating a teddy bear with an LMG as he is saying "Come get some". Just wacky and creative fun that seperated this series from the stack of other zombie games. By 2016, zombies were as popular as ever due to The Walking Dead craze that was basically like Lost all over again with the hype and so devs were trying to cash in on the hype. 4 made the series just like any other zombie game.
TJ Rotolo wasn't hired because he was participating in a strike for better pay for voice actors at the time of DR4's development. Capcom Vancouver rightfully didn't want to use that as the excuse for the voice actor change, so they just hired Ty Olsson.
That's what I figured, too, but in an interview with TJ he didn't make it seem like that was the case. He kinda just said "they didnt call me" or something
idk if you know that nobody from Capcom Vancouver previously blue castle were with the company when creating DR4. Plus DR4 was a rushed cash grab mess that Capcom forced to be made and simplified.
This game was the literal nail in the coffin for Dead Rising franchise. I'm honestly shocked if Capcom developed Dead Rising 5 or whatever name it will carry.

Also crazy thing is that when Capcom saw what they were doing with DeadRising 5 they shut Vancouver down HARD and FAST so i dont even play capcom as a whole but just vancouver and their severely out of touch hipster wanna be game devs that seem to be popping up more and more in a world that is growing more out of touch due to people putting themselves into echo chambers. might be more of Rob riggle really, because he played frank west in the dead rising movie
the new captain america game also looks like mike.

It's crazy to think that DR3 - in spite of its many, many issues - is bordering on a masterpiece compared to this despicably obnoxious shitpile.
Both are different flavours of diarrhea imo.

This Frank feels like a Ash Williams and Frank West had an evil kid together, I get so many Ash vibes (which isn’t bad, it just doesn’t fit Frank) they got inspired by other characters for sure, and they wanted to make him feel fresh, but missed the mark
Makes sense, ash vs the evil dead was airing when this came out.
Frank *sees something shocking in DR* "Jesus christ!"
Frank *sees something shocking in DR2 OTR* "Well what do we have here?"
"Frank" *sees a couple of maniacs running up on him in DR4* "am I supposed to be scared of you maniacs? 'cause am a little"
Just a few things:
- I think the reason people HATE DR4 is that they believe it is the biggest insult to the series.
When Hank fell from the copter I choked up a bit.
Now this is epic. I loved the 1st and 2nd one as kid. This one looked too different for me to try when it came out
What annoys me is that Capcom Vancouver directed OTR which had Frank and he felt more like a natural evolution of Frank from dead rising 1 then in this.

The whole Barnaby lab and his opinions on Zombies be a new evolution is just a ginormous retcon. Gotta love it
Yeah, the whole "Livestock for meat produce" thing wasnt apparently the reason that zombies happened, no no no
Its because Barnaby wanted to discover immortality?
I mean come on, Barnaby was insane, but he wouldnt ever exploit zombies for the use of human evolution - all it was is to meet demands for meat consumption
They should have down a dead rising game where the location is a theme park (Something like a Disney/Six Flags parody) under lockdown after an zombie outbreak unfolds.
I need to get caught up with the 2 and 3 videos but I'm really excited to watch all this, will probably binge it tonight!
The Ed Edd n Eddy and Community clips absolutely killed me, those were really well integrated with the points you were making!
That’s not Frank West. This is the MCU version of Dead Rising.
Just binge watched the entire series! Amazing work! Can't wait for the next video.
The "worked tirelessly" section had me laughing way more than it should, what a meme
Dead Rising 1 i played thru 6+ times, survival mode played around 60+ hours over the years (that mall music still haunts me and plays in my head at random.)
Dead rising 2 i played thru twice and mostly enjoyed. Came back a few times for fun and achievements.
Dead rising 2.5 I played twice by myself and another time in co op with my wife and liked it better than 2
Dead rising 3...I tried to co op it with my wife but we wandered away to other games at the halfway point. Didn't enjoy it as much and haven't returned to it.
Dead rising 4 i started it before i learned what they had done to the game, played a few hours in disappointment. Ended up feeling disgusted by the whole experience and uninstalled.
I just started watching this series and I was like when is he going to do Dead rising 4 lol and we're here now
Same lmaooo
In regards to the character of Brad, he was a playable character in one of the Dead Rising 3 DLC expansions. Capcom Vancouver brought him in this game for some reason.
The pressure is mounting. Clearly I'll need to do DR3 DLC review. Oh lord help me.

I remember being hyped for dead rising 4. I was a big fan of the series and I even liked 3 , it was fun. When the reviews came I was thinking „it cant be that bad” and then when I started playing I got to know that its even worse.
I despise this game with a red hot passion. Genuinely ruins the entire series by existing, with no way to undo what it's done and what it's changed
You know, that's a pretty apt comparison. It honestly may have made more sense if it was that guy instead.
You watch.. Dead Rising 5 will have the real frank talking about the events of dead rising 4 being a nightmare he had.
"I even died at the end and became a zombie"
Love the setting, snow and Christmas decorations…….everything else to me is shit, pure unfiltered shit.
Y'know, there's a part of me that's really glad Frank's original VA didn't voice him in 4. It means I can completely separate Frank West from the fourth game entirely.
Fourth Frank looks and sounds nothing like actual Frank, so you know what? It's not Frank 🙄
Thanks, Capcom.

Honestly the best part of dead rising 4 for me is the Christmas music, it slaps
Looking forward for your video on stubbs the zombie . I love that game.
I didn't know I had the Christmas zombies enabled and was baffled by the elves.
The shit frank says in this entry honestly feels like something youd hear in a Deadpool movie
i feel like this game is somewhat better than the 3rd game but not by much. I do wish though that mainstream titles would make one game around the christmas theme it would be nice.
I'm gonna be an oddball here but I actually liked Dead Rising 4
But I feel it needs some context, I was poor, I just discovered what humble bundle was and that you could get 8 games for like a tenner or whatever and I hadn't owned a new game in over a year, and DR4 happened to be the headlining game that month. So it's like being a dying man in a desert and finding some lukewarm water
But yeah I enjoyed it, if only because it was the first new thing I played in over a year. Not a glowing recommendation I know,
I totally feel that. I think we all have a story similar to yours, where you just didn't have many options and what you did have/got for cheap held you over in a surprisingly enjoyable fashion. I get it.
Somehow this game has zombies that have little variety compared to the games it had before it.
they named him brad to connect it to dead rising 3, it’s the same character from that game
This frank west kinda reminds me of a insanely water downed Johnny cage
Hopefully you plan on making a video for the Dead Rising remake.
i just played all four games in the dead rising series (as someone whos never played them before) and the people who made dead rising 4 shouldnt even be allowed to eat lunch in the same room as the people who made dead rising 2
If there ever is a deadrising 5 I wanna have hope for it bc I've always been a huge fan of dead rising and a comeback is always possible so I'm willing to see what the future holds
Should go back to the og capcom in house devs
@@taskforcekillah9722 . Only way it would be successful. Original game is still the best in the franchise. It basically was so odd and out there. There is nothing like it at all to this day. @@Deadsea_1993 facts we could only hope that capcom do the right thing though
Here's the main issue even on the "hardest difficulty"
It's too easy
You know it’s a bad Dead Rising game when I played 2 full play throughs of the game and have NEVER died
The only thing about that Guy I remember is the PTSD I got from the music that was reused from the Militiamen in DR2
Those were evil people without redemption. Did you not see Frank react to Cliff or Adam ?
@@Deadsea_1993 excalty

@@Deadsea_1993 How do we know that? Cliff had an emotional death scene - he also strung people up and tortured them to death with a machete. Totally possible the cult roped in some innocent people, as cults tend to.
Or did Willamette just have a few hundred serial killers sitting around that we just weren’t told about?
What i thought was that they went full Ash from Evil Dead with Frank but with way more dumb Humor.

That deadpan way you said "Hi bob north" made me laugh pretty hard. 😆
To be fair, it was a sick three-pointer
Love all your content, keep up the great work mate
It feels like they tried to make frank more like ash from evil dead..🤔
Barnaby's cat named flamel is actually kinda funny, being that is the last name of the alchemist who supposably made the philosophers stone , a path to immortality
Deadrising 3 still has blender juice buffs but in comparison to the previous games they are much more underwhelming. Quickstep specifically got fucked over as now it just gives infinite stamina instead of giving a super boost with movement speed.
But yeah overall talk about a drop. Least the first two games are still enjoyable zombie romps.
Dead Rising 4 is Frank's fever dream, a recurring bad dream he keeps having.
Manga: Dead Rising 1 & 2
Anime: Dead Rising 3
Netflix Adaptation: Dead Rising 4
I'd say Manga is DR1, Anime DR2/OTR, Netflix DR3, and DR4 is a SyFy exclusive made-for-TV movie.
I don't know if someone's commented this before but I think the animated video cutscene was made to be used in a advertisement. If I remember correctly they ran it up to and during the release of the game.
If you look into the making of this game, I think you'll find answers to a lot of your questions
I genuinely didn’t know that’s how you spelt segue. I don’t think I’ve ever had to spell it before but if I did I would absolutely write Segway.
You learn something new everyday
that radiant quest fast food analogy was great
3 years late but i'm so glad you pointed out how unusually good the animated intro is for how bad the rest of the game is.
This talk of ogres makes me think of a green guy you might be familiar with:
Bruce Banner works best when he's a smart scientist trying to hold back his rage. But I can appreciate when they take his two personalities and combine them like in Endgame. The Incredible Banner is interesting.
Anyways I'm not sure what I'm saying but your entire catalog of DR videos got me through a long day of work. So thank you! I'm excited to watch more of your analysis especially
Oh, also Shrek
The whole frank west voice actor reminds me of how fans defend the voice acting change from batman arkham city to arkham knight saying that the characters in origins sound different because it supposed to be younger but Arkham Origins and Asylum only take place not even ten years apart, so there is no reason Batman and Joker's voices should have changed that much

Alright final thoughts so I can stop spamming. 1. Great video as always. 2. Will you be playing Chop till you drop? 3. Which was worse? DR3 or 4?
@@Dorkaxe although I'm glad TJ didn't have to have his name tarnished by saying the cringe inducing garbage Hank spat out.

I still to this day feel awful and sicc to my stomach that i had got my cousin to spend the money on this game especially since he would and has never played the story because we couldnt coop it together but atleast he didnt decided to experience this trash heap landfill toxic fume spewing dumpster fire of game like i did this game stole that time from a younger more nieve me that still had faith in capcom and wanted to believe in the bacc to the roots statement and it put such a sour taste in my mouth that when Saints Row Reboot said the same fuccin thing i knew it was going to be the death of the series from the moment i read the announcment and saw the reveal it genuinely pisses me off that these companies take the shit that we love and that alot of us grew up with like me and my friends did and spit in our faces and murder the series' that we adore.
