This is the best explanation I've gotten on the rule of thirds since I started taking pictures a couple months ago thank you very very much I don't feel confused by what you said it actually made a lot of sense and it was the most information in the most simplistic way
my thoughts exactly, keeping what's important to the shot in those four areas of focus made me actually start determining better about how i set up my lighting now and helps with my color grading as well
Holy shit. I learned more about taking a better photo from you in that 5:30 minutes than I have in my life. Wow, who knew right? I sure didn't, but it TOTALLY makes sense and now I have my "grid" turned on.. on my iPhone. So effen cool. Thank you so much!!!! :-)
Your explanations on the rule of thirds are much more easier to understands because of the photos you've shared. I'm a newbie in photography as my hobby. Thank you for sharing.
This is great to know! We always through the grid was to make sure the picture/video was straight. Haha! Shows how much we still have to learn. Thanks for the info.
Thank you so much for this video! I do not teach photography or filmmaking, but I will show this to both of my Art 1 classes because you made it so incredibly clear and easy to understand. This is by far the best explanation of the rule of thirds I have found! Thank you!
Great explanation. I also realised that most of the time my eye was drawn at the painting which is at the top right intersection of the rule of thirds , even though the background is blurred
This is the best explanation video on TH-cam. I saw a few videos on TH-cam on 'the rule of thirds'. I wanted to make sense of it. I saw it being taught on more popular TH-cam channels. Unfortunately, they did not explain it properly. I disliked those videos. When I saw your video, I felt like an expert because you made it seem easy. Thank you.
I just got a new Fuji X100V. Watching this video was sure helpful. I found the 9 frame grid in the settings and I'm much more prepared to take better shots. Thanks!
I was looking for tutorials on blending colors in thirds for pencil when i found these about framing photos and video in thirds. How facinating. And informative. Its a concept i can use in my art as well. So Thankyou! I think it also helps explain how my son in law takes such beautiful pictures of landscapes and scenery. They are so good I asked him what kind of camera app he was using on his phone and he said nothing special, just what it came with. It never fails to amaze me how sometimes the simplest things can make such a big difference.
Yep, people’s first response when they see a good picture is typically, “what kind of camera did you use?” But it’s all about how you get the picture with framing and lighting rather than what you captured it with.
Thanks for the level of effort you put into delivering the illustrations clearly. The graphics and articulation of ideas are exceptional and the way you cover the bases is beyond what most content creators deliver. I teach a computer class and will be having my students watch your clip and go out and practice the rule of thirds. It saves teachers like me a lot of work when someone with your skills and passion for communication hit all these aspects in a powerful and efficient way. Thanks again!
That's so awesome to hear, Seth, because it does definitely take some extra time. But I want people to be able to easily understand these concepts so I'm glad to hear its making sense!
Thank you for breaking down how to use the grid. I’ve been working on taking picture and getting use to the grid not knowing how to properly use it. You explained it so well and helped me be a bit more creative. I want to learn more as far a posing and lighting but one step at a time. Lol thanks again 🙏🏾😁
now for me this is the best explanation I've ever watched about concept of third for me you nailed it bro! and for that I subscribe with notification on Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video. I am a begginer and i was looking at a few videos here on TH-cam, but so far you explained the best for me so i can understand it finally :)
Thank you . This information is very helpful. I am new to video, so I am/was not aware that this was a thing. A viewer of mine, mentioned this rule, and hence I am here. Thanks again. Cheers.
@@CamberFilmSchool I will be looking through your other videos for some hints on lighting. I make videos of machine repair, so my subject ( machines ) are difficult to light, but I am working on that. Cheers and thanks for responding.
@@CamberFilmSchool it's all linked! Basically, everything that you can do with a camera 😂(video is a collection of photos ;) ) I love videography too. I come across so many ideas. Especially when listening to a song, I imagine how would I film a particular thing to match that song. But too bad I neither have a good camera, nor do I get to go to such whimsical places

Ive always thought that the rule of thirds meant the object must be inside the center square. So this is game changing
Yea, glad to clarify! 😉
I thought the reason for the grids was so you can focus in the center square lol I’ve been taking photos wrong this whole time
@hfiol85 it can definitely help with that for the times when you want to frame something in the center.
@@CamberFilmSchool I never knew exactly what the grids were I even turned that feature in my iPhone not really understanding what it was really for
