There are still a few days until the update lands, the maw farming is going to be a good money maker and if you get a few people in there the credits you can make will be amazing.

Cant find yellow systems anymore. Guess there will be another attack sometime where there will be new yellow systems? New to the game so not sure how everything works
It depends on what method you want to use and what type you are looking to kill . If it is just the Orthrus with out having to rely on premium ammo , I would keep with the Anaconda for its brute force and ability to do this activity in comfort.

Ax Missiles while inflicting 1% on shields and 2% damage on hull per missile , they have a fire rate of 2 seconds and a reload time of 5 seconds to factor in. Here is an example of a Chieftain i was asked about a few days back. Each missile RoF 2 seconds reload of 5 seconds ammo clip 12 and 8 CHIEFTEN 3 launchers
first 8 shots = shields on 76% time on 16 seconds ammo clip 4 and 0 2 shots and reloading = shields on 74% time on 21 seconds ammo clips 0 and 8 2 shots and reloading = shields on 72% time on 26 seconds ammo clips 12 and 6 6 shots = shields on 54% time on 38 seconds ammo clips 6 and 0 2 shots and reloading = shields on 52% time on 43 seconds ammo clips 4 and 8 4 shots = shields on 40% time on 51 seconds ammo clips 0 and 4 2 shots and reloading = shields on 38% time on 56 seconds ammo clips 12 and 2 2 shots = shields on 36% time on 60 seconds ammo clips 10 and 0 2 shots and reloading = shields on 12% time on 65 seconds with the 1% shield loss per 3 seconds ammo clips 8 and 8 3 shots = shields on 0% time 71 seconds Thargoid jumps out in 3 seconds. Question regarding the powerplay aspect of this method, do I need to be already at merits level 5 with the power while grinding thargoids? Or can I first collect a hefty amount of kill vouchers and then grind rank 5 and cash them in?
Its fine to save them up then boost the power play later. some of the bonds i collected for the video were done before I joined ALD's power. it calculates current banked bonds at the time of hand in, just be 100% sure you are handing to a station that is under ALD's control.

The cold shard runs at 23 with weps deployed, and when in combat will peek to about 35 for less than a second before dropping back into the teens. Where the monstered shard runs at 33, and in fight will hold around 46-53 . The monstered while is not optimum, is mainly to safe guard a players options if they want to run more power intensive parts.
Would this powerplay method work if your pledged to Aisling Duval? Or is it exclusive to A. Lavigny-Duval? I realize the 40 mil is now 15 but that bonus from powerplay is awesome , i'd like to get in on it.
A. Lavigny-Duval is the one to focus on to gain access to the +100% bonus . Where as Aisling Duval's rewards affects the influence reward amount from missions. Z.Hudson is the only other super power that grants the 100% on bounties if it boils down to a Fed v Imp choice . Other powers are then more trade reward focused. How this will be after PowerPlay 2.0 lands will be interesting to see.

Beginner player here: can I still do this strategy in a fer de lance and a 100 million credit budget? I haven't had the time in to amass any proper wealth.
The worry would be the loss of the 1 launcher dropping the damage out put and reloading every 8 shots . it could be a very close battle , Looking over footage of an early run testing the time for one to escape, it jumped out after 74 seconds. looking at the footage of rate of fire its one shot per 2 seconds, with 8 shots being 16 seconds along with a reload of 5 seconds. Conda's damage to shields was 6% per full hit and hull was 12% per full hit making each weapon 1% and 2% The FDL should be hitting 5% on shields and 10% on hull with full hits. should be 30 hits in total , this should be 30 shots x 2 for the RoF, = 60 seconds + the 5 second reloading after the 8th shot. 3 reloads = 15 seconds will bring us to 75 seconds . maaaaaaybe a ram to add damage I'm not sure , but any miss hits will cost you the run in an FDL ship is my thoughts. The good thing ax missiles are pure credits for buying, i would not fit out the FDL with Sirius ones as they need engineering materials for each one. so if you are willing to take the timer to the wire its worth a shot for 40mill a kill *80 with powerplay* and then after a few successful runs buy the Anaconda and rake in the credits. Hi Jack, the caustic sink launchers can be bought at the Rescue Mega Ship Hunter in the Telin system. The engineering upgrade to add 2 extra charges comes from the engineer Ram Tah located at Phoenix Base in the Meene system. o7

While its not the 560 mill run it once was, it can still bring in 210 mill in 30-35 mins . I did look at running 3 spare accounts as copilots in horizon mode , as I had them sitting about from when Epic Games gave the base game away for free one Christmas time. The Extra pips were nice , but due to the sliding % when it comes to payments based on combat rank it became a pain to set up. To make it worth doing to funnel credits to the main account , you would need all three copilots ranked up to Dangerous so they would get a 70% payout of the original combat bond. This did make each kill worth 61.5mill, but thought of spending time juggling cargo on a fleet carrier to compile the credits did not look fun to me. Add on top to promote this in a video to those who missed the free giveaway may of come across a promoting a pay to win path. I spent today testing out my old video with trade missions to see how it held up over time and updates. I'm glad to say it is still viable as I made almost 1.2 billion with boom/exp cargo missions for things like tritium , silver, indite ect. Just need to become an ally rep with the factions for the top 35-50m missions, I find scanning 5 earth like worlds and selling the 5mill data to the station jumps me to instant ally making the set up a lot faster.
Its been a while since i've played elite and i decided to try out the cold shard build. When I fired at the tharg with my shard cannons, the cannons would be at 0% health really quickly. Is there some mechanic I don't know about that causes this? Thank you

From my experience the guardian gauss cannons were better for Thargoid heart sniping.
try charged plasma weapons on a conda for spires... in my personal experience gaus is meh, modded shards are pretty decent also.

What changes would you make to the cold shard build for farming the orthrus fleet leaving Hadad once it's taken down?
For farming the fleet I may opt for replacing the two shield boosters for two more caustic sinks just to add more caustic head room.

Another option if no oreo jumping in is you can desroy the probe, which will sometimes also spawn an oreo.

Sadly no , the Thargoid will jump out 3 seconds after you manage to remove its shields , you only have 74 seconds to kill it.

The shards need Ram Tah's upgrade to protect them from rotting.
