There are so many really great AOR albums that it's difficult to choose a favorite. So I've put together a list of my top 100. 100-11, are really in no particular order, but 10-1 are my favorites from my favorites!
Not much you didn't grace that doesn't deserve to be on any aor best of the best lists. We met briefly when Signal played the UK and you signed the front cover of Boulevard magazine that featured you on the cover. Will carry the memories of seeing the bands and the music forever. It keeps my head straight when times are tough. We are a blessed community
@@jamestaylor7106 Dear James, Yes I remember speaking with you. You were being very nice to me and I appreciated that very much. I hope you’re well and still rockin big time. Thank you so much for writing me and letting me know. Please keep in touch. Love always, m xoxoxoxo
Survivor: Vital Signs #78 ??? It's definitely in my top 5 Together with Honeymoon Suite:The Big Prize Styx:Pieces of Eight Journey:Escape Toto:Isolation
I didn't see if it made the list but another great Canadian artist from that era and in that style is Paul Laine's "Stick It In Your Ear." Dorianna, Is it Love and We are the Young are stand-out tracks.
Top 5: 5) Journey "Raised..." 4) Phil Collins "No jackets...", 3) Russ Ballards "The fire still..." 2) Strangeways "Native..." 1) Outside Edge "More Edge". Great top 100. Hope tosee more tops, greetings friends!
Thank you so much for this list! This is a genre where I have a really hard time finding new music from. So far here are my favorites Dare - Out of the Silence Strangeways - Walk in the Fire Signal - Loud & Clear Starship - Knee Deep in the Hoopla Bryan Adams - Reckless
Good list. Rio at number 1 was a surprise. If you can track it down you need to listen to 2am When Every Second Counts. I’m sure it will make the list.
Some seriously great albums in there, my top 10 are 1. Blue Murder S/T 2. Hardline S/T 3. Treat- Organized Crime 4. Icon- Right Between The Eyes 5. Alias S/T 6. Strangeways- Walk In The Fire 7. Shark Island- Law of The Order 8. Tangier - Stranded 9. Danger Danger- Monkey Business 10. Firehouse S/T, There's alot of good stuff out there but can't fit everything in from Damn Yankees, Winger, Xyz, Q5, White Sister, Love/Hate, Saraya, Y&T, Witness, White Lion, Unruly Child, Pink Cream 69, Only Child, Lionsheart,
No complaints from me here. Nice list... Great to see Stan M, Rainbow, Fortune and Aviator, Balance too... oh!! and Arcangel. That made me happy! I must have my White Sister and Signal too, but KK and Long Way From Lov will satisfy.
My favourite AOR album is Mood Swings by the Canadian AOR band Harem Scarem. Apart from Journey, Survivor and Reo Speedwagon everybody over here in Northern Ireland that I know have never heard of most of the AOR bands I love eg Harem Scarem, W.E.T, House Of Lords, Pride Of Lions etc. Heck all my friends haven't even heard of the Rock genre, AOR. As well as that I found a W.E.T album in the HEAVY METAL (?) section in the Belfast HMV store a few months ago. If it wasn't for the internet and TH-cam in particular I would still be thinking that I'm living in a parallel universe where I'm the only AOR fan in existence.
I learned about AOR through Survivor’s “Vital Signs”, and I still haven’t found any record to top that one even though there many great ones I haven’t heard yet.
No female fronted albums here? maybe just a couple! no Bad English? Michael Bolton's Soul Provider, no Jeff Scott Soto in any of their many project related to AOR like Takara!. Is a good selection but there are a lot of recordings that many of us love and isn't here.
TNT's Knights of the New Thunder is aor? Might as well consider Iron Maiden,Judas Priest,etc..aor too ha..I guess for some newcomers anything that's not thrash metal or black metal or beard metal etc,is aor lol
As far as more metallic AOR, Judas Priest's *Turbo* album was meant to be Twin Turbos, so you'll find bits and pieces in modern re-releases of other albums. My favorites are Fire Down Below, Turn On Your Light, and Thunder Road. Alcatrazz (featuring Graham Bonnet from Rainbow, along with being the jumping off point for Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai) had their '86 album *Dangerous Games*
I’m incredibly honored to be on your list my friend. Keep on rockin.
Love always,
Marcie Free

I appreciate the comment! I believe that you're the only artist on here to have made it multiple times with different bands! 👍

AMBROSIA
Road Island, 1982
Number 1 !
Journey - Escape?
I love your music ♥️ 🎶 🎸 🤘
Elektradrive "Due" - 1989
Number 93 is Jeff Paris - Wired Up
Outside Edge and Signal must under Top 10 😍
I agree with Outside Edge. They are amazing, especially Heaven Tonight and Frozen Rain.
That Ku-ma-te track is from Bloodsport isn't it
Fight to Survive by Stan Bush

RIO SHY GIRL THE BEST
¿Cómo se llama la canción que suena en el número 65? ALGUNA IDEA???
I don't see Journey "Escape"....why!!?? :-D

@@loupblanc99 thanks a lot 🙏🏼
Are these from the 80s?
What songs are used in this video?
Most of these are 1980s, some from the early 1990s.
"Trade Winds" by Tradia should be in this video.
I have 91
Do you not like Honeymoon Suite?
They were okay. I was originally introduced to them from the "One Crazy Summer" OST.
Love them all legends of rock n roll 🎸🤘🎶❤️
Where Is alias
Good band.
There are probably at least 50 more bands that could be honorable mentions. I may do a follow up video just for that!
TNT's Knights of the New Thunder is aor? Might as well consider Iron Maiden,Judas Priest,etc..aor too ha..I guess for some newcomers anything that's not thrash metal or black metal or beard metal etc,is aor lol
I don't consider TNT AOR. Maybe a hard melodic rock. It's actually not on the list, but rather on the (generic) thumbnail that I used for it. 🤷♂️

"Keep on Working" -Dwight Twilley
@@MelodicEntity Vielen, vielen Dank !!!

And Michael Bolton ????????
Nobody is better than Michael Bolton. He is a category of his own.
