- Hi all! I'm back after getting married and heading off on our little minimoon to share a new video with you all! I received the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour set in the Art Nouveau colourway as well as a ClareFontaine sketchbook for my birthday last month, and I finally tried them out! I review the paint set and swatch them out, as well as painting a little scene from our time away. Hope you enjoy! Katie x

love this video. I find Kuretake a bit harder to layer. But working in less layers and thicker layer works well.

What a beautiful sketchbook. What I'm not sure are it? Do the Gansai makers (Kuretake, Holbein, to name a few) make individual pans? Because some colors are going to run out quicker than others,
They do, yes! I’ve just bought a few to replace the ones I use the most, and I’m also going to swap out some of the colours I use least with other shades 😄 so really adaptable!

That is a beautiful palette. I have the basic set of 12, and am always surprised at the intensity of color one can get from them. They do seem to live on the border between watercolor and gouache, which makes them fun to play with.
Yes I was so impressed with the intensity and pigment! It's unlike any other watercolour set I've used!

The Art Nouveau set really does have such beautiful colours and I can see myself using this set a lot. It feels very similar to gouache, I wouldn't say they were chalkier (just the same)! They certainly know what we want from art supplies; my wish list is never-ending 😅
