Just a quick question why isn’t there 1-methyl-6nitrobenzene 32:18

it is the same as 1-methyl-2nitrobenzene... for eg we dont say 2-chloroethane when there is only 1 chlorine. so basically the position can be counted clockwise or anticlockwise for the smallest position number

halogenation of methylbenzene is not a substituion reaction the chlorine should go and attach with 2 4 carbon just like in nitration
