J'son, I wanna thank you very much. I have watched around 100 fade tutorials. Outta all them you give the easiest to follow directions. I especially appreciate the trick you shared doing the top with one guard with the grain and the sides to the ridge a half guard higher against the grain for that infinity fade. I am currently following your steps and looking crispy so far! Thanks again for the details nobody else has mentioned!
Whoa! Best fade and explanation I've come across in a while. Educator of the year worthy! Thank you for sharing your fire techniques! Liked and subbed!
I haven’t been to a barbershop since July 2020. I didn’t want to risk it during this pandemic. I’ve been trying for over a year to find the right tutorial for cutting my hair. This is the best one. I’ve used it the last few times and I surprise myself and how well it looks. I might not go back to a barber ever! Thank you so much for your clear and concise explanations. Truly a life-saver!
I was a barber for 15 years and I must say , your technique is on point. Much respect 💯. We didn’t have the .5 and 1 1/2 guard to work with. It was all clipper and hand technique
Thanks. I don't use the .5 guard as much and if you didn't use either, I know you got to have a mean flick of the wrist. What's your tiktok or IG? I'm on both @jsonthebarber
Watching these videos saved me tones of money and time sitting in the barber shop. Cut all my friends and family including my own. Best investment I ever made getting proper clippers.
@@JsontheBarber : I do everything at the shop; so whatever cut services and/or client retention advice you're willing to share, I'm all ears(and brain cells😁). Thanks again, Sir
THANK YOU for this. video. I'm a. licensed cosmo in CA but not a barber. I never got to learn to cut black hair, so I was terrified to cut my husband's hair. Well we finally got fed up with his barber and begged me to do it. Your video and style of teaching allowed me to get the best blend possible with my mediocre clippers, thus allowing us to stay happily. married 😂 Thanks for the knowledge!
Next bald fade I get I’m going to try setting in my guidelines with the .5 closed and the 1 closed instead of the lever open and the 1 open. Getting the lines out seemed effortless when you did it that way
Preston Clark that's a tough one. since i got the slim line pros they've been hitters. but to be honest as long as they are modified and set right, basically any liners will get it done.
@@JsontheBarber ok cool. By that u mean movin the blades back? By the way I been cuttin my own hair since 4ever but I used ur methods and they're helping out bigtime thanx homie
Pretty good tutorial I like that you did the bald line marker in the back and meet it with the side bald lines real good teaching tool I'll have to use that now cause seems like it will insure bald line will be perfect✊🏿

Thank you for your response! I enjoyed 😊 your video overall...but you only showed one side being faded...is it possible to show all sides being faded....maybe start from one side...then the back...then the other side...then front being lined up...I appreciate your putting time to share your work... excited to see more...and that's what I meant by seeing full work...But absolute perfectionist...hope to see another video soon😁
LaShay Lewis you're welcome. I only show one side of the fade for time restraint purposes. Fading around the entire client's head requires the same exact steps. I am currently creating an online course that will take you through each step in very minute detail so that the process is very clear.
Hello Sir. I am a wife and mother. I only cut my husband's and son's hair. They both want fades but I am unable to get those lines out so I resort to doing it all at one level. I really really really desire to learn how to fade hair. 1. When will your video be available? 2. Will it be an in-depth step by step video? 3. Closed = lever up or back?
Hey..im a single mom of three with a 14 yr old boy and 5 yr old boy!! I have NOOO clue what I'm doing but I can't continue to pay for hair cuts when the prices change EVERY WEEK. Could you use a 1.5 closed (instead of a 1 guard) at the top and still fade out the sides the same way?
Don O. Yes. You would just have to add two extra guide lines to make up for the extra guard.
Awesome vid bro thank u !! What number u do on the top ?
That other guy #1 with the grain
Great work sir!!!

Put a 1.16 closed make line then fade from bottom up easy . Take hard off start blending up. Into ur one.

Is the 1&1/2 guard specific to wahl? Or is there another name/number it goes by ?
Not that I know of andis has 1.5 same as wahl. Both can be bought individually from barber supply or Sally's beauty supply
