A great film in lots of ways! The scenery is wonderful, but great to see the camaraderie and praising of good shooting amongst the guns - and the great shots.
This is your best film Dave....The thing I like about the slow motion shots/kills is the way it shows just how to mount and "lead" a bird. My father used to tell me when I was little (70+ years ago!!), to stare at the bird and in your peripheral vision let the muzzles "hose" the bird like a water hose aimed in front of a dog running across in front of you!! That shows up very clearly in some of the kills, especially incomers as at 4:16. It is, in my opinion the perfect shot on a high pheasant, killed in front at 40+ yards and shows how to mount behind the tail, pull through and the kick of the gun does the rest as you catch up with the head of the bird!!! Brilliant, I think you should bottle that shot and sell it!!!
This is the warmth and companionship that I shall miss in this dreadful covid year. The Pub Owner said it all and Mr Carrie always says thank you to the people that make the day possible. Essential etiquette. Thank you for this wonderful production.
I am fascinated with all the UK bird shooting videos!! :) It is so different than what I do in the States. I live in Central Minnesota and the bird numbers are fantastic. I also hunt South Dakota 2 times a year. We do primarily all driving (walk to flush). Hunt CRP (Grass fields), slough bottoms when we get snow, sorghum fields etc. I only hunt behind British Labs, American Labs and Field Springers. , My son is flying in from Boston next week when we head out to SD. I simply cannot wait for it!! It has been a tradition since I was 12. Really anxious to get my 74 year old father out again.
More than a excellent video. Dave congratulations for highlighting some of the most beautiful traditions in the UK. Your are a great ambassador of your beautiful country. Horatiu Bonea , Romania .
Another cracking film from you Dave. The camera work is just brilliant, great camera angles of you shooting and some nice close up shots. The shoot itself and scenery is breathe taking, what a fantastic place. I always enjoy it when you talk to the people involved in the shoot, it shows just what goes into it to make a days shooting possible,Thanks Dave.
Your films are a pleasure to watch very exciting and informative. I enjoy your outlook on the shooting sports and conservation of our outdoor opportunities! We in Canada share many of the joys and challenges that you explain in the UK. Thanks Again for your enjoyable films Greg
The UK leads the World in driven shooting! Here in America it’s about Setters and Pointers, you work for your birds behind very special dogs. Shot UK driven for 20 years but now having shot driven the hunt behind a special English Setter fills me up. That point is something to behold!
I live in a council house in rural country side I support the hunts shooting and fishing but love flying my hawks,.im 62 would love a shot gun even if it was for clays , I really enjoy your vids well done.
Hi Dave, as someone who is training my first gun-dog and looking to get more into country and field sports your videos are excellent. Great ambassador 👍🏼 stay safe
Another great video! Saw some high doubles on the birds. Still think you should write a book on high bird shooting. your guy who does your videos is excellent!
You need to keep these types of videos going. A big fan from Arizona!! I have hunted all my life here in Arizona and especially love upland game. My career took me to England many many times. I have since changed occupations and I regret so much that I did not participate in a proper British hunt when I had the chance. I will just have to watch more videos!
Another fantastic shoot Dave, what a great couple of days those were! Every one of those birds looked extreme and a real test of shotgun, load and especially the shooter......you and that team of guns made it look effortless. Thanks for the beautifully done video, always looking forward to your next adventure. Best regards from the US.
Seriously, Dave, another great film. Its good for the sport. Shame to see you having another iffy day. Don't worry, you have a tear or two to get it back! (You know I am a great admirer and ... jealous!!).
Dave, one day we will meet. You are a wonderful ambassador for the sporrt. I hope you take my little derisory ( is that short for piss - taking?) comments as the sort of flack us old timers are used to. Enjoy it, Love it, but never take yourself as an individual too seriously ????@@DaveCarrieShooting
So nice to hear that, Dave. As long as we bring some old school values and a little of edcation on tradition. I take my hat off to you. You are a master of that. I may take the mickey, but that is sincere@@DaveCarrieShooting
Hi Dave hope you are well . What can I say another fantastic video again from you and your team . Great shooting from everybody on the video . Drives look amazing . Great country side . We every luck to have shoots like this . Keep up the great work you and your team do . All the best . Darell 👍
Thanks Dave for another wonderful video. I had been concerned that you might be through for the year, so this is a delightful surprise. I enjoyed it. The country. side is beautiful. Here in the states, bird hunting is all about the dogs. I enjoyed seeing the dogs.
Dave, is getting our arses Kicked a new shooting term. On a serious note, does not the people who run this Country of ours not realise why people from all corners of the World return year after year to Hunt, Shoot and Fish. My answer is because we offer the finest in Field Sports anywhere in the World.
Exactly right Paul - we have the finest shooting sports in the world here and governments with a death wish of giving everything away just like our other industries
Another corker Dave what a cracking video. Some of your shots where just Awsome! The ammount of time from the bird being hit and folding and landing tells the tale of the height of some of those shots. I just love the complete picture of these game shoots from start to finish. It's good to see the camaradie. I think you and your loader where in total Harmony a well oiled machine. Fantastic camera work thumbs up to whole team. How much difference is there between full and extra full on the pattern plate test?, could you show us in another video. All the best take care Dave. Regards Tony
All of those full length length shotgun scabbards are fantastic. What are the makers? Have a Beretta 486 with 30'' barrels, and would like to have one made. Currently using a soft sided break-down case because of my travels. However, would love to have a single piece for certain hunts.
Great video, in fact I think one of your best. I noticed that you seem to be using one gun with a Monte Carlo stock and one with a more standard stock shape and on the first day you changed from using a pair of guns and only shot the gun with Monte Carlo stock. Just wondered why this was and perhaps why you did not stick with the standard stock gun?
i often try different guns and stock combinations when double gunning is allowed, but i would rather just single gun and concentrate more, the monte carlo is my go to combo
This is how cold and wet it should be down here so I can start hunting with the Beretta, but unfortunately we've got record hot spells, its dry and brown :(
It's so fascinating to me as I love my old England and the wealthy enjoying the shooting which is good but it's seems strange as the whole country looses complete controll but I'm glad it doesn't put you of your shooting I must admit it would bother me
A great film in lots of ways! The scenery is wonderful, but great to see the camaraderie and praising of good shooting amongst the guns - and the great shots.
i agree about the scenary and camaraderie it is most important
Once again your shooting is unbelievable Dave keep the 🇬🇧 great videos coming 🇺🇸
Thanks Greg
Dave I love watching your videos! Tasteful and expert. Thank you. A true Ambassador for UK shooting.👍🏻🍾
Thanks James your comments are much appreciated -DC

Thanks Dave, brings back great memories of the day I shot there....many moons ago. Another great production.
Always enjoy these videos and would love to have such an experience. We just don't have that type of shooting in Australia.
Thanks Paul - if we do not protect it more in our country it will vanish that's for sure

Hi Dave. Different thread . Can you tell me what the average wage a year is for a head keeper. Appreciating him and family in rent free cottage ?
rough guesstimate btw £20,000 and £30,000 plus including accommodation
@@DaveCarrieShooting thank you for taking the time to reply.
I was wondering if the film was edited over two days as you seam to switch from double gun to single.?
Bill Tyler sometimes I do that when shooting test loads

Balance your barrel on your toe? A bad habit, loader should have politely corrected that.
