    Forgot to add that my inside leg measurement is 31.5" and I weight a tad over 60kg.

    I just got my transalp. Im short. 5'-7" and weigh about 170. I originally thought I needed the short seat but after a day riding with it I switched back to the original seat. The short seat sits you in a dip and doesn't really let you move around on the seat without eventually sliding back into this low position. Hard to explain. I had bought it for peace of mind, thinking every bit helps, but the original seat feels much better while riding.

      That’s interesting, I was out today on mine with my bike rucksack for the first time and quite liked the way it sat on the higher section of the seat behind me, it took the weight off. I’m out tomorrow again for a couple of hours I might try both seats out again as I hadn’t considered your point. Thanks for watching.

    As a fellow Transalp loving rider I’m glad to have discovered your feed. I’ve just received the low seat and about to try it. If you’re putting a GPS on it (which I have) DON’T get one that attaches to the windscreen assembly. It’ll shake and eventually fail. Highly recommend the SW Motech bracket which bolts to the dashboard and sits flush on top of the TFT display. Solid and exactly the right height.
    Cheers,
    Geoff in Tasmania

    Unsure why ive never seen your channel before but im glad I did, great presentation and funny to boot. Unsure why Honda didnt make the lower seat in blue as thats part of the white/blue scheme you have along with the gold wheels. You've earned my sub.

    Have the tall screen and swapped the seat for the black low version .
    After approx 1500km on the low seat , it helps …but I only have a 28 inch inseam so I would like another 15mm lower.
    The foot pegs are wide and with my enduro boots I have to position my feet behind the pegs to reach the ground , the bike with the 21 inch front wheel is very easily tipped over at rest 😢.
    I can u turn both feet on the pegs easily , but if that front wheel turns even a little amount , when you come to a stop …watch out …if you are a shorter inseam , it will tip to the side the wheel is turned .
    Yes the seat helps , but the long front suspension , results in fork dive ,if you aren’t 100 per cent spot on with your braking .
    Personally thinking of putting a 19 inch front wheel on like they do on the Africa Twin , despite being a competent off road rider , this bike isn’t suitable in my opinion for any serious off road use other than gravel roads .
    The suspension is so soft and the bike too heavy …but it is a pretty good asphalt …bitumen back road tourer , it also eats the motorways .
    But boy at low speeds those brakes are temperamental.

      @wright-adventure  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with the off road abilities so I went and bought a 300 rally for that bit. I love this bike for the longer journeys , thanks for watching

    Hey buddy, I always enjoy your content, you know, it’s really ironic, we buy these very expensive bikes, just like the Harley I just bought last year, which, as you know, is a very expensive bike, because it is a touring bike, that seat was the absolute Horrendous item that had to be changed ASAP. It’s all I could do to ride 50 miles on that bike, to me that is strange as much as you pay for these things and you still have to put money into something that should have been great from day one, anyway enjoy your video. Look forward to the next, take care. Rob U.S.

    5' 10" but the important things with the seat height is... what's your inside leg neasurement?
    I'm 5' 9" but only with a 30" inside leg and find I struggle with a lot of the adventure style bikes

      Hello Dave, yes you're right, bit of a school boy error on my part, I did forget to mention it. My inside is 31.5", Im going to follow the video up with another regarding height and my body weight which is 60kg and also the preload on the bike and see how it sits with luggage as well. thanks for watching and the feed back.

    I put the lower seat on my TA so that my wife would have an easier time riding it and deciding if she wanted one for herself. I left the low seat on and went for a 400-mile day ride. I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam, 195 lbs. I was in pain by the end of the day from being too cramped. I'll never use the low seat again.

    Low seat has less cushion, do you notice any difference when you ride for a long trip?

    • @wright-adventure

      Hi, no not really but I don’t weigh much so that may be a factor?

    • @SomewhereInside

      @@tech-travel101 low seat rider on TA I weigh 100kg , have done 2000kms on low black seat , over five days , 400km stretches with stops .
      The seat is bloody comfortable in my opinion , but I did drop the bike at a standstill , and the seat fell off, the prongs that hold seat on somehow got bent in the tip over,but no damage to seat , straightened prongs with a pair of pliers.
      I am 28 inch inseam and 5ft 8, the seat height helps , but the bike is still tippy heavy , due to the 208kg wet weight , and the wide footpegs that stop me straight legging the bike with enduro boots on I.e. have to place boots behind pegs…when placing feet down on the ground .
      I had a KLR 650 with a lowering link , it was great , but still heavy .

    Correct seat height is paramount for riders .
    Watch some videos of top off road riders competing in enduro ….they rarely fall over ….because when the going gets really tough …they dab a foot or both feet with proper boots on .
    Go research it

    Standard seat height is so small there's no reason to bing it lower even if u're 140cm tall.
    Better idea to invest in skills.

    • @WyreForestBiker
      @WyreForestBiker 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      With respect ..nonsense ! What 'skill' exactly make your legs longer ?? I have a 29"
      inside leg and often a need lower seat , bikes are made to fit average people if you are much shorter than average you need to customise them to fit ...simple.

    • @Gmac237
      @Gmac237 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No matter what your skill level as you age your body naturally loses muscle strength and age can also effects your balance, its a biological fact ! I've been riding for over 45+ years competed in enduros,mx and road racing and numerous advanced rider skills training Owned over 30 motorcycles from 125 mx bikes to 1000 adventure tourers.Lower seat height is important not only for mature riders but also smaller framed riders as it provides more stability and therefore more confidence !

      another factor is that I only weigh 62kg, not so much is taken up on the suspension when I sit on it.
