If memory serves, the MGA was based on aerodynamic bodies made for racing MG TFs. They are the last MG to have a separate chassis which was abandoned on the MGB in favor of an unibody construction
Actually the TD. MG wanted to put the MGA into production then, but BMC wouldn’t give them the go ahead as it was thought it would be competing for sales with the then fairly new Austin Healey, but the TD still desperately needed updating, so the TF was introduced.

Excellent video and of interest to me. Currently I have all steel fenders on my MGA roadster, but I have a full set of fibre glass wings and front valance stored that I picked up years ago, that have never been fitted to a car. It is always good to understand the fitting process. Thanks for a good video.
Thanks, it can be difficult in some cases as not all moulds are accurate for fibreglass fenders. I would say use metal fenders, they are much better and authentic . Less trouble to fit... Of course if you are int racing , then go for fibreglass as they are cheap and light weight.. and weight is everything in racing. Good luck with the fitting... Don;t hesitate to ask . Regards Steve
Awesome! Personaly i think a car in this used and beaten up condition certanly belong on the tracks, it feel to me as it want to go back and finish the race! I fully undersand if it had been differnt if it was something ver unique or in almost brand new factory condition, but not for a well used car like this, this is a race car in my personal opinion.

Nice work. You can use a piece of copper to back up holes when you are welding. It pulls the heat away and the weld doesn’t stick to it.
love watching your work Steve. In what video are you sandblasting? I need to see your rig, i started blasting my 67 and found glass beads worked well.
