the music desk he has I use as my ham radio desk. It works well and has plenty of shelves ive added to it and rack mount areas for rack mount power strips and more.
Seems perfect to me.... Beautiful room. I wonder if ground is as important if your antennas are close to resonant. I have a feeling that the more we depend to tuners the more ground is important. My shack is on the second floor also.
Thank you for the detail around the ground mounted vertical antenna. I need to do something similar. My shack is also on the second floor in a bedroom. I have several VHF antennas in the attic. I ran the coax through the ceiling in a corner of the closet. I also have copper plumbing, so I run my RF ground to the cold water pipe. My HF antenna gets disconnected before lightning is a problem. 73 Jim N4FAF

Mount a vhf/uhf antenna in the tree. Paint it gray with non-metallic paint.
