Given the frog, an animal known for its long tongue, is on a pedestal, to which you could plug in a chute, and it looks like a vault (a thing that stores items), it could be a Create version of a vacuum hopper.
It's mostly because Create is automation AND decoration centric, it's in a sense almost not a tech mod because of how much it even lacks in a type of progression (if you get brass you can do basically everything in the mod).

Maybe the frog is a Froggy Bank--a single-item-type, nearly bottomless storage option. Oh, or maybe it's some kind of interface for vaults, so that you can pull items out manually?
My 1st thought for that frog is that it'd act like a trash can, he licks up any items thrown in front of it and just swallows it into the void. Or it could convert items or transmutate them, kinda how soul fire works. The frog could convert slime balls to those frog blocks you get from having frogs eat magma slimes.

it kinda looks like the frog from Zuma, so maybe some kind of automated turret? there is a slot on top that could be a filter for what item it shoots out (kind of like the slot on the back of the frog that shows you the next color you will shoot in Zuma)
My guesses (which are WHOLLY uneducated) as for what it does? A few things: 1. A more convenient and less janky way to get froglights 2. A chute that sucks items to itself 3. They're turning the vault instant transport trick with funnels into a feature

Imagine, building a 3d printer making trains on minecarts with them automatically being glued together and turned into items. Then imagine... Using those for automating the mass crafting of MULTIBLOCK structures before they get built. Want to have Immersive Engineering coke ovens that just need a whack of a hammer? Pop their schematic in your printer build, load with the resources and BAM.
my theory for the frog is, given that create is often paired with lighter storage mods like Storage Drawers, it stands to reason that the frog is textured as such as its meant to in fact allow usage and connection of item vault storage UIs
That vault frog looks more like a item picker that create really lacks, like a vacuum hopper. Or a way to automate the creation of froglights, that would be great cause there aren't many mods that offer alternative ways of making froglights other than the Mystical Agriculture mod.
I wonder if it's gonna be the percussion to the steam organ pipe's melody. Like those frogs with spiny backs, that make a ribbit noise when you run a stick along them.

Would be super cool with a ticket-like thing you give it called an order or something, so you give it the order and it gives you all the items on the order and the specified amounts if you have that much. (I came up with the whole order thing, thinking create wouldn’t really add a UI-based block like this since it’s storage is literally against the idea)
My speculation is: The frog statue is something that picks up neabu items (with its tongue) that will have a output underneeth the padestal or something! The one 4x4px thing intop of the frog could be a filter slot to make it only pick up SPECIFIC ittems! Anyways looking out fot the .6 update already :3
to be honest, I'd like to see integration of the auto-crafter into create most of all. Some balancing issues should be addressed, like is anyone using windmills except for the cool looks, water mills + steam engines seem to be more efficient. Likewise with drills, who uses them, if you can break blocks by replacing them? New stuff would be awesome, too, of course 😊
my vote is for a create mod-like storage system for vaults. like a sort of requesting system, yknow? still keeps the usage of display links, but allows for vault access in a general area.
I think the frog will have a storage in it and it will jump between 2 platforms loading and unloading items (think of a train with 2 stations, something like that)
tbh, is there much Simi Cats can really innovate on anymore without treading on the addons? it's a great mod, but it feels like there's not much you can really do to make it better with it being so good.

I like calling the vault mob the vaulttoad because I think it's a nice name but I also like the idea of them being a resource sink.

I'm glad that they finally released a teaser. At this point with all those addons that exist I'm just glad that devs keep cooking.
I like the idea of a way to void items, maybe a toggle to switch between generating useful rewards and just plain voiding.
