It's absolutely criminal that he isnt in the HOF
He is now. Waited way too long. He cant enjoy it
He passed away. Its a shame. Not even a Raider fan and i knew he belonged in HOF years ago. Dude played big in big games. Super fast and durable. Good hands too. 4.2 speed.
I had the honor of having dinner with Mr. Branch, and Stephan Paige (WR Chiefs) about 15 years ago. Mr. Branch was the most gracious, polite and entertaining gentleman you could ever meet. He took time to sign autographs, take pictures and talk to folks in the middle of his dinner. I sat there between Mr. Branch and Mr. Paige, and listened to some of the coolest stories of behind the scenes moments in the NFL. I still have the pictures and autograph to prove it!!! RIP Mr. Branch, you are the GOAT!

As a Broncos fan I am happy to see that Cliff Branch has finally been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. It is a crime that he was not inducted earlier. I saw Cliff play football at the University of Colorado - he was always the best player on the field. While at Colorado Cliff set the world indoor record for the 60 yard dash - temporarily making him the fastest man in the world - this fact seems to be forgotten.

Not a Raiders fan but man o man was that team tough in the 70's and early 80's. Branch was one of the most electrifying players in that era and that says a lot considering all the great players who played then. Besides being the definition of lightning quick, the way he ran his routes was a thing of absolute beauty. No doubt one of the best all time.

Look at Jim Plunkett the first Mexican American quarterback to win two Super Bowls with a Mexican American coach Tom Flores I know Tom already in there both of them should’ve went in at the same time

Big fan when I was a super young Raider fan....would draw football pictures of Stabler, Casper, Biletnokoff and Branch in school instead of listening to my teachers in 2nd/3rd grade! LOL. Probably explains why I was never in the smart group in class :\ Clifford Branch was so awesome, that bounce in his trot to the line of scrimmage after the huddle broke. The upright stance with his hands on his hips. The facemask, the #21......the 2 wristbands for each arm....his giving the ball to the ref after every TD scored.....his electric speed......on a team that had so many unique characters and such cool personalities, Cliff Branch's style was just another huge reason why I became such a passionate Raider fan and why I love this franchise til this day. Bout time the HoF puts his bust where it belongs.

came to speak when I played little league football in Houston, Tx for the SouthWest Steers .... we didn't know him because he was a Raider and we were all Oilers fans. As I got older I never forgot him & how cool he was & then I found he was from Htown. Great guy

I realize that as the passing game took over there's been a glut of HoF-worthy numbers from the WR position and so some of the older guys were passed over; but, compare Branch in his day, with those rules against guys like Paul Warfield, Lynn Swann, Drew Pearson and Harold Carmichael (All Hall of Famers and All-70s team as voted by the Hall of Fame voters)---
Lynn Swann--336 catches 5,462 yards 16.3 ypc 51TDs
Paul Warfield--427 catches 8,565 yds 20.1 ypc 85 TDS
Drew Pearson--489 catches 7,822 yds. 15.9 ypc 48TDS

You can't tell the story of the NFL in the 70s without the Raiders, and you can't tell the story of the 70s (and early 80s) Raiders without Cliff Branch. Put this man in the Hall of Fame where he belongs!!!

I've changed my opinion on slow-motion film. It's more exciting to watch this guy at real speed. You could just feel the electricity when the ball was snapped; you knew he was dangerous, could break loose at any moment. Also: true track people rarely make it in football. Cliff was one of the few.
Had the great experience of seeing him at CU in the early 70's. Saw him outfake a defensive secondary guy so bad he just fell on his butt. All of Folsom field just roared. Best WR ever. Stefon Diggs kind of reminds me of him, though the game is different. He and Tyreek Hill are the only two current players at that skill level. Cliff, thanks.
The NFL has it out for Raiders ever since AL Davis took over the Raider organization. It was a crime that Ray Guy didn't get into HOF until 2014, as he was the best punter in NFL history. Way too many well-deserved former Raiders players who should be in the HOF that are not. Let's push for more inductees from Raiders Organization that deserve their spot in Canton.

Branch not only was great, but helped his fellow receivers run their underneath patterns because one or two DB's had to be on him due to his speed and great patterns.

Before CB, Raiders had Warren Wells, and Raymond Chester as wideouts to stretch the field. Cliff changed the game and gave Al Davis the stones to say, 'The general belief of NFL offenses is "We take what the defense gives us", well...we operate under a different philosophy, "We take what we want."
The Hall Of Fame needed him more than he needed the Hall. Just like Snake, they waited until he passed, pathetic.

People think that he was just a sprinter, but he was so much more. He got better every year.

He's definitely a Hall of Fame player. They say there were faster players, but he's the one player in the NFL that I NEVER saw get caught from behind when he was in the open field.

All that Mr. Branch did was before the usage of gloves with sticky surfaces.
