- Expressing futures and fabulating from and of-the-world. Rethinking art and poetry as processes of resilience and collective acts of togetherness.
THE YOUNG, THE OLD AND THE GENERATION OF NOW
For Tim Ingold, imagining the future, dissolves the boundaries between the future and past. In his writings, the imagination is intimately entangled with perception and memory such that they cannot be considered independently. Against the idea that limited futures are coming directly at us, Ingold locates the imagination as an activity, technique and subject in scenes of everyday life and as the means by which worlds come to be.
TIM INGOLD
Tim Ingold is Emeritus Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Aberdeen. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. He is the author of Anthropology: Why It Matters (2018), The Life of Lines (2015), Being Alive: Essays on Movement, Knowledge and Description (2011), Lines: A Brief History (2007), Tools, Language and Cognition in Human Evolution (with Kathleen Gibson, 1993) and The Appropriation of Nature (1986), among numerous other books and publications.

Для Тима Ингольда (Tim Ingold) воображение будущего стирает границы между будущим и прошлым. В его сочинениях воображение настолько тесно связано с восприятием и памятью, что их нельзя рассматривать независимо друг от друга. Вопреки идее о том, что ограниченное будущее приходит непосредственно к нам, Ингольд определяет воображение как деятельность, технику и предмет в сценах повседневной жизни и как средство, с помощью которого создаются миры.

The introduction made me so sad. For the first time I realized that there might be sth off with my my grandparents never wanting/caring to see me when I was little. Anyways, I am a grown up now and I should just let it go. But it just emotionally struck me hard for a few moments.
