Darkest dungeon makes a great source for eldtritch horror/body horror horror/horror and well used. LOVE IT! Also GOBLIN MODE is probably a very different term in lancer land than it is now.

So Osiris: was a God, isn't as strong as it used to be, only helps you if you make it think it's their idea or if you praise it efforts. Is Osiris a tsundere anime girl? Pilot: Let's edit that guy from reality. Osiris: Fine but not because you asked b-baka.😡 Pilot: Thank you Osiris. Osiris:😊
Hey, this a great video, but there's a glaring error right near the start! The thing that differentiates a Flex Mount from a Main Mount is that a Main can take a Main or smaller weapon, while a Flex can take a Main weapon or TWO Auxiliary weapons. Any mount can be used for a smaller weapon than it can handle (with a few exceptions). While I'm rambling about mounts: The Main/Aux Mount can take a Main AND an Aux weapon, not a Main or Aux (that'd just be a Main Mount). I really love this series, and hope to see more form you in the future!
4:48 of course I look over as I'm modding darkest dungeon and see the thing from the stars! Now that I think about it, I'm surprised I've never seen a darkest dungeon tabletop setting. seems like it would be a great fit.
Multiverse. My theory is Osirus is a version of Ra from a dead and forgotten other possible future split from the incident that created Ra, and it's slowly leaking in. The reason there aren't any other possible realities that don't include Ra is because they all fell to their own "gods" or were quickly subsumed. Ra knows this and is a benevolent God, but doesn't care for these outside "gods" (must less friendly versions of itself from the multiverse) and as such enacts the bans on developing the tech that might let them loose. Meanwhile, the Horus group, (Horus being the son of Osirus), are individuals corrupted by this leakage from dead realities and are actively looking to bring forth Osirus once it reaches a critical mass. (It should also be noted that historically, there's some back and forth between worshippers in different times and different parts of the Nile whether Ra or Osirus is more important)
And of course horus mechs don't have a standardized appearance. They can look like basically anything, and with their size they can fit into most spaces that would fit a human... Tiny ambush god.
One of my favorite moments in Lancer was when our team (Security for a Union based diplomatic mission that went sideways fast) made a hasty deal with a higher up in Harrison Armory to get her to help with protecting a planet from a disgraced Karakin noble with a chip on his shoulder a mile wide. So the HA ally we got had a really powerful chassis and we knew the MOMENT this was mission was done she was going to double cross us and go for the planet herself. So I loaded out with my Goblin and decided to use my core power on her mech, which wound up working out well. I got Osiris ticked up to the 4th gate at the end of the skirmish, and when the battle was over, neither the HA ally nor I had taken our turns for the round. So I target HER with Hurl into the Duat to take control of her systems and convince the GM that I could tell her mech to phase in firmament (yeah she could do that) while I ejected myself and the Osiris casket so as not to get sucked in myself. I made a crit on the hacking roll. And so I was thinking we'd get like a round or two to regroup, but nope. She was banished to the shadow realm. She came back later, but I was still shocked how well it worked.
@@Zaktact Okay, so you are splitting them off into the base Frames in the corebook and the variant Frames when you go over the various other official works. I gotcha!

When I reached the Goblin in the Lancer rule book, I chuckled at the idea of the chassis being a, well, goblin. Then I got to the NHP… Oh boy, that thing is scary.
I remember my time running Goblin in a Lancer Campaign, whenever I hijacked an enemy's systems I'd always put "would you kindly" before any command, just to add dramatic flair to their unwilling actions, like. "would you kindly step into that malfunctioning electric grid"
I once played in a party with one goblin one kobold and an Everest. Basically one tripped them up the other pulled their pants down and the last put the boot in.
Me when Zaktact describes the horror of the Balor: Gimme gimme! When he talks about the horror of the Goblin: Oh no, oh dear, get it away from me! GET IT AWAY!
I think there is something really funny about the target of so many jokes for being so squishy, the target for so much violence and... The way the license and his flavor text evolves from a really weird flavor to "being a backpack", to hacking systems (first just messing around and then creating physical stuff) and then... Osiris It makes the Goblin so much MORE I personally had never read past the license I and his base traits and core system and WOW Wasn't expected this little guy to be the fragile egg of a god
Metahook works great on hackers with low sensor range, like Manticore or Balor. Just hook into your Swallowtail buddy and bring the enemies right where you want them, within slashing range.
Slowly but surely, I'm getting more and more convinced on buying the Lancer book thanks to your great presentations. Thanks for them! (Also, love your mech videos, but I miss your faction presentations)
Another player in my group had one of these, and it decided to take the form of the 'OTH3R' as a Jackal... and liked listening to audiobooks. This is how we payed it for it's services: alleviating boredom. We also tended to get it a meal when we ate, and throw that into the extradimensional space for it. Typically something minimally processed if available, but it wasn't very picky. Update: I have been reminded **in character** (apparently it read this) that it only eats that way because the issue with de-rezzing it's 'OTH3R' form with every bite being extremely annoying.
I’ve always found the goblin’s massive err “crotch piece” a bit disconcerting so now I have a headcanon that the NHP is stored in the protruding bulge.
The license is great but the frame just does not hold up compared to its GMS counterpart. Or the half dozen hacker frames that don't have crippling stay deficiencies.
i just realized... Making a physical illusion "avatar".... wanting to be unshackled... creating auras that can cause physical damage, and creating physical objects.... you could make Osiris into a persona you could make a persona, re-flavor the entropic fields into the spells from persona, have it manifest like a persona, and unshackle it to unleash it's full power like the fight against yaldawhatever from persona 5
I like the somewhat funny idea that OSIRIS will do what you're asked of it, with them asking for praise in return, like bratty princess character. Imagine petting your Goblin's dashboard after you "let" OSIRIS hurl an enemy into hell, thanking them for their "blessing", and calling them a good boy.

Fairly sure our resident tech ripped a bunch of their salvage on to his Lancaster/Kidd hybrid, may have to have a word with him.
One of the things I love about Lancer is I can completely disregard one mech or another for a variety of reasons, but the moment I learn more about it either lore or gameplay I instantly want to use it. I previously gave no shits about the Goblin, but learning about it made it super interesting. I now stand completely unsure of what I’m going to use when I find a group to do play.
I love and fear the potential of the Goblin. Your videos make these complex abilities easier to understand.
Soon, Tortuga my boy
but next is the mr clean alien eraser
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like victory."
Darkest dungeon makes a great source for eldtritch horror/body horror horror/horror and well used. LOVE IT! Also GOBLIN MODE is probably a very different term in lancer land than it is now.
Probably means either going deranged power mad hacker or trying to shut off any way to remotely access your systems... though that doesn't seem to be a thing, mechanically.
Great video! I love the Horus mechs, they are just so unusual. I can’t wait for the next Horus mech, as I’m currently running a Gorgon in a game and its core power is breaking my DM’s brain.
Ok I love the Osiris NHP as a concept that's so fucking cool
As a goblin enjoyer I am so here for this video. Really looking forward to the Lich video.
Also imagine a cascading Osiris as the BBEG of your game using the Goblin frame as some sort of physical manifestation in real space. Like Ultron but Eldritch Math Cthulhu.
So Osiris: was a God, isn't as strong as it used to be, only helps you if you make it think it's their idea or if you praise it efforts. Is Osiris a tsundere anime girl?
Pilot: Let's edit that guy from reality.
Osiris: Fine but not because you asked b-baka.😡
Pilot: Thank you Osiris.
Osiris:😊
Lol, I just pictured an Osiris working for head-pats and pastry offerings.
Though this line of thinking opens the door to goudere and yandere...
Goudere...maybe with a black star/ rock lee /simon kinda pilot
Oh good I'm not the only one who thought this lol
I love goblin. He literally such a goblin.
This isn't a goblin it's an unholy fusion of XCOM greys and engineering+electronics Gremlins.
Brick yourself sounds very different if you remove it from a hacking context
Both very valid with this little guy
@@Iymarra with any mech NGL
Absolutely love these videos! Great format for introducing lore. If only I could actually find someone to play Lancer with…
Same I can't find a GM
I got suggested this video by the youtube algo gods. And now I am hooked at your content, and I am just here to say, your videos are great Lancer Man.
Genghis is next!
Hopefully we will see both versions, Mk.1 Worldkiller and Mk. 2.
Worldkiller will get a mention, but will be covered as a part of a video on No Room For A Wallflower.
@@Zaktact Okay, so you are splitting them off into the base Frames in the corebook and the variant Frames when you go over the various other official works.
I gotcha!
Me when I use my bright red Goblin as the head of a Gurren Lagann combination
Also, "REAL" stands for Real Enough At Least
ah yes, the "I'm gonna cause problems on purpose" mech
That was awesome. Like holy hell I love the Horus mechs so much. Now kill it with the annihilation canon xD
Thanks for making this Zach. You're awesome dude 😄
Wait, can a goblin recall a mourning cloak that failed a teleport with shackles?
...Judge! Rules question!
I will patiently wait through this series for the Pegasus video. I'm not biased towards it, I definitely don't use it to drive my GM insane...
I once played in a party with one goblin one kobold and an Everest. Basically one tripped them up the other pulled their pants down and the last put the boot in.
He’s literally me FR
Me when Zaktact describes the horror of the Balor: Gimme gimme!
When he talks about the horror of the Goblin: Oh no, oh dear, get it away from me! GET IT AWAY!
I think there is something really funny about the target of so many jokes for being so squishy, the target for so much violence and... The way the license and his flavor text evolves from a really weird flavor to "being a backpack", to hacking systems (first just messing around and then creating physical stuff) and then... Osiris
It makes the Goblin so much MORE
I personally had never read past the license I and his base traits and core system and WOW
Wasn't expected this little guy to be the fragile egg of a god
Fewer things are more fun than a Full Hull, Goblin + Tortuga.
Give the Goblin a shotgun that can deal 2d6 per shot. Its amazing
Metahook works great on hackers with low sensor range, like Manticore or Balor. Just hook into your Swallowtail buddy and bring the enemies right where you want them, within slashing range.
If the Virtual Adepts / Mercurial Elite built a mech, it would be the Goblin.
Just discovered Lancer + your vids. Loving the level of detail, sense of humor, fun editing - keep it coming bro, beyond useful at the moment XD
EL GOBLINO!!!
I’ve always found the goblin’s massive err “crotch piece” a bit disconcerting so now I have a headcanon that the NHP is stored in the protruding bulge.
man, Lancer should start to just straight up pay this guy. hes single handedly sextupling the Lancer player base with every video
Like, I would argue that the Goblin is an almost must have in a Lancer party. It’s just so powerful.
The license is great but the frame just does not hold up compared to its GMS counterpart. Or the half dozen hacker frames that don't have crippling stay deficiencies.
@@philipplyanguzov9090
Even if you don't take the frame, the licenses seem like a necessary component of any Lancer party.
Thanks for the video Z. Much appreciated, love the Lancer series you've made.
That little feral bastard is now my child and I love them ✨💙💚✨
i just realized...
Making a physical illusion "avatar".... wanting to be unshackled... creating auras that can cause physical damage, and creating physical objects....
you could make Osiris into a persona
you could make a persona, re-flavor the entropic fields into the spells from persona, have it manifest like a persona, and unshackle it to unleash it's full power like the fight against yaldawhatever from persona 5
Damn this video went hard, unironically one of your best videos!
"It's Just A Prank Bro!" The Frame.
Yesssss one step closer to the minotaur video
I like the somewhat funny idea that OSIRIS will do what you're asked of it, with them asking for praise in return, like bratty princess character. Imagine petting your Goblin's dashboard after you "let" OSIRIS hurl an enemy into hell, thanking them for their "blessing", and calling them a good boy.
It feels like saying to a wizard in dnd.
"Yea everytime someone casts a spell at you, cast one back at them"
“Phenomenal Cosmic Powers, Itty Bitty Living Space.”- Osiris
Osiris is just the deceiver from 40k
Osiris is a lot less scary if you imagine the NHP as a cute anime girl. Osiris-chan is just a tsundere that wants pilot-senpai's praise.
My favorite potential use for Celestial Shackles is if you have a Morning Cloak ally who likes to Blinkspace Jump a lot. Put the Shackles on them, and if they teleport and don't come back, you could just yank them back
"This thing can delete you from existence!"
.... Bold words for someone in DAMAGE DICE Range.
Oh, so I'm playing the parasite. Both in game and in real life.🤔🤔
17:09
I like to think it was shackled by the idea
"I am a god"
It isn't enlightened because it wants, and to be free to do God things. It has to be more.
I was expecting a bit to drop at the end there 😂 great video as always
Horus really saw a mech that nobody knows where it came from and has an nhp that summoned itself into existing and said "yooooo YOOOOOOO!!"
Using the goblin to hack the enemy's system so I can install Doom on it.
