Flawless! Impossibly complex, yet performed as near perfectly as possible to this ear. As exciting to watch as to hear, with superb camera work and editing. Fascinating to follow solo moments passing around the ensemble - the distribution actually comes through in stereo here on TH-cam.
@NathanDaughtrey I remember my ensemble playing this piece at the Chicago Clinic about 2010-2012ish. It was so beautiful but I have not ever found a recording of it. Would love to see any of Union High School’s recordings of it. Chris Whyte helped us rehearse the piece. Such an amazingly written vibraphone piece!!
Awesome performance! What type of mallets is the soloist using in this video? I'm performing this in March and I wanted to use the same mallets as the composer/soloist -
One of the hidden jem's in the percussion repertoire hands down.
+Brandon Williams Thanks! Wish it were less "hidden" though. :)

This hauntingly beautiful piece feels like some of Morricone's compositions for film.
