This. Defense is shaky, midfielders can’t create, forwards can’t score.

I think this is a killer lineup, I like it a lot. Gakpo was our best player in the last two games, and he was so impactful on the left wing with his crosses against Palace.
Dom gets a lot of stick lately cause his sub-par (or occasionally horrendous) passes as of late get him in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. But he actually creates 3-4 chances a game, the strikers just never seem to take them. He could have so many assists by now. He was the one creating that big chance for Jota on Sunday as well that could have easily gone in.
I've seen his game improve, finally his corners were great again, I think he was good up front. Klopp uses him as a workhorse for the most part but if the next manager can give him a bit more creative freedom and he just sorts his head out, he'll be world class by next season, mark my words.

Jota came fourth , Nunez around 565th with Diaz two places worse again .

It's happened twice in recent years.....against Milan in Istambul and against Barsa at Anfield......but with Darwin, I don't see it happening. Maybe try Danns?

@@panchopuskas1yeah. but after watching klopp closely I don't think lfc can do it. he does not have the smarts to turn things around. last season is a prime example. no way the likes of pep, fergie gonna finish outside of top 4 like him. heck he can't even beat a trash manager like ten hag. who figures him out. if trash manager that lost 7-0 to him can stop him no way a manager that just best him 3-0 will slip up. I just hope this won't change gen z lfc fan opinion about klopp and Salah. it made me happy watching them disrespect the likes of Paisley and rush by claiming klopp and Salah is the best ever

On the subject of Darwin nunez I believe we should give him one more full season to prove himself worthy of the liverpool shirt. Hes incredibly frustrating but the thought of him going somewhere else and tearing it up is scary. Perhaps the new manager can get him to finish better instead of blasting every shot. Honestly think give him another 6 months maybe at least.

I don't agree with you on many things, but for a long time I think that Mac, Elliot, Dom are the best starters.....by the way, my opinion is that: Szoboszlai is the first violinist, but Klopp expects him as a piano player in Liverpool....this is a big problem. ...

I can see Liverpool win 4-0 but it doesn’t fill me with much confidence going forward. With that being said Bajcetic needs to come in the squad for Endo I believe that will help the team massively

Today, was feeling for a 0-5 finish, we go HAM for the game. As for your XI, yeah, it's OK. If we have fully fit TAA and Robbo, good. We have strained to score early of late, and allowed teams to score early against us, like we need a push.
That XI is good, especially Elliott who seemed the keenest on Sunday. Having Salah and Nunez rearing to go from the 55mins would be good, and having Gakpo starting would be a change, prefer him central and Jota on the side.
As Craig said after the Palace defeat - let’s just take one game at a time. Our form is so terrible that it’s all we can do.

We must use the width of the pitch. Atalanta played such a narrow midfield last time, I couldn’t believe how we played right into their hands, by also going so narrow.
I suspect Klopp won't have it in him to drop Salah. Nunez sure. Have a feeling he'll play all 4 of Gakpo, Salah, Diaz and Jota to start, with Gakpo playing CAM. And then probably Dom and Macca behind him. Only worry is if Trent is really not ready to play even/any more than 45, he won't start. That'll be a big problem. Gomez at RB and we aren't progressing. Ideally Trent, Gomez, VVD and Robbo with Ali behind.
True we need Quansah for this game. I agree with your predicted lineup, I hope we get DANNS on as a sub too.

I agree with this lineup. The only change I MIGHT would make is putting Gomez in for Quansah just for the experience and stability.
At some point we'll start hitting the net agsin ive no doubt....this could be a 6 nil win if we hit form and they loose confidence,but the smart money is on atalanta defending deep and playing on the counter....my guess due to our current form 2-3

Jota not ready for 90 minutes, and he is more impactful used as a 2nd half sub where his instincts and IQ are most needed.
Can see this tie being a nail biter if Reds score first. They can really punish people when they get in the zone
I don’t overly disagree with the lineup, what I would say is gasperini plays man - man so we need matchups of our best players in those situations, macca i agree instead of endo to thread the passes, Elliot technically is good and can beat a man, gravy or dom i would be happy with as they provide that burst we need and the frontline needs freshening up and i agree so hopefully a big result Thursday but we need to be aggressive and on it from the get go and not as passive as we have been for the last month! YNWA come on you reds!
I like the starting 11 and I agree we need to just go for it. But I can’t help but think there is a little wishful thinking here on Craig’s part rather than a prediction. Granted I love the positive thinking and I agree with the decisions. I reckon Liverpool win the match but I’m not sure it will be enough to go through.

Great lineup. Konate and Endo both had a stinker vs Palace. Playing Gakpo in his favoured position makes complete sense. Nunez and Salah are also in terrible form but there’s no way Klopp will ever bench Salah. Unfortunately.

At first I don’t agree with the forward players but after your explanation I think it’s a good plan. Seeing Nunez come in when everyone is tired will create havoc
If Liverpool manage to bag a couple, Nunez is the last person I want to come on during a high pressure situation. I’d rather see him start when the pressure is low, roll the dice, hope he gets hot and then bring on Jota/Salah late game to make the final push.
