“Surprise! I’m still diabetic” that was great 🤣 I feel like I’ve used this line so many times in my life having to remind people that I live with it every moment and it doesn’t magically go away with diet and exercise 😅
Good to see you back, my daughter- 8 years old got diagnosed with T1D last September and your videos really helped me a lot during the past few months. Please keep posting.
I’m so so sorry for your daughter’s diagnosis…and thank you for sharing with me that the videos have been a source of support - being invited into your home via the videos and helping in any small way is a huge honor for me. I’ll keep posting ❤️
Just yesterday, I was talking with my wife about your videos, and I literally said, “I think she’s taking a break from videos… she probably has a lot going on!” It’s good to see you back on TH-cam again!!
It feels like Christmas whenever we get an Andrea video 😂. Congratulations on all your achievements last year! I'm hoping for a house tour video at some point!
I’m in a position that you are in, I want to vlog and share my story. I’ve been diabetic for 31 years. It was a struggle at first, being homeless and not having insulin was hard. I lived on the streets with no fridge or protection. Now 30 years later I’m stable at 6.9%, which I thank dex G5. Now I’m using the G6, it was a absolute game changer for sure. My insulin was also changed to Ryzodeg 70/30. I feel a lot better and put the weight back on, which is so hard to loose. Im 46 and experiencing another change in my life. I’m new to the channel, and would like to see stories with the Diabetic community. I am always watching videos to see where technology is at. I can say you do look happy and healthy. Q&A I would like to know 1) how did you manage your sugars when moving? 2) what was the menu at the Wedding? 3) what is your go to snacks? 4) what do you do in a situation when you have low sugars? 5) How did you feel after trying Dex sensors? It is a learning experience for me as life goes on. Being a t1 for 31 years, life has been up and down. I’ve had my fair share of hospital stays. Been in a few comas for unstable sugars, and have had infections. Now I am doing well and eat regularly and don’t exercise much. My body won’t let me and that is a struggle. Don’t hesitate to ask me questions, I am here for another one. Advice, or advice given is openly excepted. I appreciate your vlog, and so glad your ok ❤️🦋
I'm engaged, and trying to figure out navigating numbers. Also will be moving to England next year from Canada for 6 months for school! Alllll of this insight you mentioned would be sooo helpful!
Hi Andrea, it's your Type 1 Diabetic buddy here. Welcome back and glad to see you back I have missed seeing you which always cheers me up and wondered what you been upto. Firstly congratulations on marrying David and the house move to NY, wow alot has happened in one year it can be very stressful arranging a wedding and moving at the same time as well as exciting which can play havoc with your Diabetes which is extra challenging if your a Type 1 Diabetic 😅. Good to see you again and thank you for updating us on what has been going on in your life, I will look forward to a house tour lol and more videos of updates on your wedding and other stuff. See you soon 😊 👋 🇬🇧 Sarah 💜 xx
Just love how real you are❤. I read in Time or some mag that the top 3 most stressful life changes to make; 3. 1st home purchase, 2. Move, 1. Get Married. And each one of those are super stressful all by themselves. Glad you are taking care of you, meaning you two. Take all the time you need. Would love to have you back soon, but you can never get the time back. Hang in there and congratulations on all of it.
*Andreaaaaa!* So happy to see you back on and very glad it was just normal life changes keeping you off TH-cam. \ Congratulations on your marriage! Sorry about David's finger. My diabetes hasn't gone away either. What the heck?! P.s Your house looks so fancy.
I found your videos when I was first dx'd 4 years ago. Your relaxed demeanor always calmed my "diabetic nerves" 🤭 Congratulations on your wedding & move to NY! I'm on Long Island.
Nice to hear from you Andrea. I was really sorry to hear about your Dad. But it sounds like you have lots of very positive news too! Are you still pursuing acting? If so I look forward to seeing you in something soon. I feel like I will point at the screen and yell 'I know her! She's diabetic!' :D
Fantastic to see you again and congrats on the wedding. Looking forward to upcoming videos. Any chance of some cooking ones?🤣 The oat cookies go down a treat, especially with my son!!
You are a rey of sunshine! Congratulations on your wedding day... And many blessings sent your way!!! And congrats on your new homeownership journey!!!! I'm glad you are back!!!
Disappointed that one of your changes wasn’t being cured!! Marriage and NY (and endlessly plate spinning?) really suit you, you look great! Congratulations on it all.
Great to see you and congratulations on the wedding, move etc. I'm hoping to get my pump by the end of the year and your videos definitely help. Need to curb the comfort eating though 😔
Thank you!! I SO hear you on the comfort eating front, there are so many times when I'm stressed and overwhelmed that all I want to do is eat carbs and pasta and bread and just...ALL THE CARBS to feel that safety...so please please please know you are not alone in this at all!!! ❤️
Great to see you back Andrea and to know that you are well. Congratulations to you and David on your marriage. I look forward to your videos - they are always very informative and so well presented. Best wishes for new life in New York.
Ah!! It's so wonderful to connect with you! And thank you for all the good wishes on all fronts! It feels so good to be back and I look forward to connecting more!! Thank you for this encouragement!!!
Welcome to New York. I’m from Queens New York myself. Hope you’re doing well. So nice to see you again. ❤… Congratulations on your wedding. You look Fabulous 😬
It's soo awesome to see you back Andrea!🥰🥳 Very Happy for you and David!❤️ Missed you a lot 🥺 also yes we want a video on your wedding and diabetes management!
Yay a new video! It's so wild to me, that I googled you years ago because I liked your performance on Homeland, and then found out you're diabetic too and have been following along ever since!
Wow! I was so surprised I was 2 minutes late for the old 3pm/10am/9am ct time slot. Welcome back! My main question is about transferring your diabetes care back to the US. I remember how it was for u during COVID when u were at your mom’s for an extended time and fretting that your care was across the pond. By the way, happy birthday [again] yes I know u told me in your LIVE last year “Marina,my birthday is February 5th.” And knowing my math that’s 2/5/86 You’re a little over 4 years older than me
Thank you Marina! I thought you might notice the upload time being the usual ☺️ I'm definitely going to make a video about my transition, which is still very much ongoing, but I feel like I have enough information to speak to it from my experience. And thank you for the birthday wishes!!
Love your uplifting energy and all the info you share! Congratulations to you and David and it's OK to take the time you need to care for yourself. I am a 53 year diabetic still using pens and Dexcom but wanting to try an Omnipod 5 or Mobi...(no tubes please!)? Updates on your Omnipod use and how you pair it with Dexcom would be helpful to hear and see .
Thank you so much for these supportive words! I will definitely continue to make content about my Omnipod experience, because, like you I was in the exact same position - no tubes please! I love the no tubes but I think currently tslim has the better algorithm. But will continue to make more content around it all for sure!!!
Happy to see you back and that things are going well! I'm new to your channel (not new to DM1 though), and I'd like to know your exercise routine, if you haven't already covered it. Thanks!
🐁Hey Andrea!! Congratulations on 1,2, and 3!! I was worried when I hadn't seen posts for such a long time. Your enthusiasm is very infectious, and you smile is contagious. I look forward to more videos on how you coped with the stress of all of this. I have been T1D for 58 years, dxd age 12. I think your videos are educational and inspiring to younger diabetics. How is the G7 working out? Take care, and looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Mike Chapel Hill NC
Hello Andrea, congratulations on your Wedding. God bless your new church. Although I don’t know him at all and also you until couple of days ago through watching few of your videos, Davids are always unique! 😊. I am T1D since 10 years ago and I am 42. I am in the process to move from the insulin pens to pump and need help. Are you still using Tandem? Why you dumped Medtronic? Is it because of the dexcom sensors ? Which pump would you recommend now? The new Medtronic or Tandem ? Thank you.
I had wondered where you had went to Andrea. Congratulations to you both. Well done, good luck and keep going. Great to see you back, life is treating you well and all is good. Now more videos please.
Thank you for all this love!!! It is a lot lol - it’s actually a perfect way to describe it 🤣 It feels so good to be back - thank you for this warm welcome!! 🤩
I found your channel oddly enough during the time you were on your hiatus! I love your content so much! Glad to see you're back, congrats on the move, and your wedding. ❤ Glad to see whatever new things you get up to.
Congratulations!!! I’m so happy for you both. I kind of figured you were busy with life but it didn’t stop me from checking occasionally or missing hearing about how you manage your life with T1D. You just don’t know which tips and tricks might be helping someone else. Will you be getting the Dexcom G7 when it integrates with Tandem? Thanks for sharing. Glad to see you back. Happy furniture shopping😊
So Happy to see you again! Hope NY is treating you well. Looking forward to more videos when you get the time. Take Care, Kelly from the Outer Banks of NC.
Congrats on all the things! Way to make it through some of the top life stressors all in one year! My son was dx two years ago and our biggest hurdle is still swagging a meal. I use my scale all the time and we don't eat out much, ir is just easier. But a video on guessing carbs counts would be cool. Also, not sure if you went through your teenage years with T1 or if you were diagnosed after but if you did what is the best piece of advice for helping a teenager without stepping on their toes? Glad to see you back!
Oh Oh OH! Firstly, I'm so sorry for your son's diagnosis - it's never an easy time, but I'm sure the last few years in particular have come with their own challenges, that's for sure. I LOVE your video ideas...THANK! YOU! I've made a few videos about carb counting, but never guessing which is what I do 99.999% of the time (not at all always with success) but I could give it my best shot to explain! And also - the teenage advice video - I LOVE THIS IDEA. I'm going to for sure add this to the list - thank you - that is such a fabulous video suggestion!! Wishing you and your son all the very best and thank you so much for all your kind words and support! ❤️
Went through that about 25 years ago, shortly after my son was born. International moves ... I got used to it, and so did my wife as we both had multiple moves in the previous 5 years including (for my wife) europe-US-europe. Marriage was the easiest part - no family or friends invited, no rings, no party: just got in front of the officer at the commune with all the international paperwork, and it was done. Building the house in Switzerland was another matter, complicated by having to deal with the young child as well and all family living 800km away, but we now got 2 more houses now... one learns by doing. And yes...I'm still married with the same ❤person who made me move to Switzerland. T1D makes us stronger than others I believe.
Congratulations on your wedding! I started on an insulin pump for the first time last year, after 40 years of being a type One diabetic. I just wanted to thank you for all the invaluable information and insights that have helped me greatly with negotiating this new device and way of life, your videos have been great for me. I watched your video on pre-bolusing recently, which has really helped with by blood glucose levels post meals! Thanks again and please keep the videos coming!
I can’t wait to hear more about how you managed your diabetes (and tips and tricks!) during your wedding and an international move! I’ve missed your videos 💕
So true!! Much positivity to celebrate, and I feel very very lucky for this!!! Thank you for the warm welcome and wishes!! And I love your name by the way! 🐶 ❤️
Congratulations to you both. Great to see you back on TH-cam. I've had Type 1 diabetes longer than you've been alive. Keeping on top of it and in control. Hope to see more of your videos.
@@ShesDiabetic positioning pumps/ cgms around the wedding dress..and dealing with a possible adrenaline response on the day..but also managing a lot of delicious food...or anything wedding related really 😀
Do you know if there are any cool tricks to rember if and when you took insulin? I'm 55, and have had a horrible time remembering if I took the shot (no pump). After 34 years, it has gotten REAL hard to keep track. You are still young, but you might know older type 1s that are starting to forget. I use a lot of helpful reminders, but they don't seem to work anymore. My A1Cs are good, but it has been an average of the rollercoaster ride of both highs and lows. Glad to see you back.
I don't use a "smart-insulin pen" but I believe they keep track of when you took your last injection and also keep track of insulin on board. You may want to ask your endocrinologist about getting these.
I’m here, I promise!! How exciting that you’ll be getting a pump soon!! That’s so exciting!! I hope all goes very well, and if you’re anything like me - you’re going to love it!!!
Congratulations !🎉 I am very happy for you I miss your videos to the point that every time I go to TH-cam, I go to your channel to see if you upload a new video. I wish you great blood sugar, but don't forget us, we miss you 😭🧃
Oh thank you so so much for these kind words. I miss you guys too...I PROMISE! I'm trying to work to make shorter videos so I can release more of them because currently it takes me so so long to shoot and edit a video because of their length, I promise, I'm working on it! I'm not going anywhere, and you are equally as important to me - if not more! Believe me!!
Nice to hear from you and I’m glad everything is well. Congratulations on your wedding. Hope your blood glucose is ok. I’m finding it a little difficult but with the Libre sensor I hope it can settle down.
@@ShesDiabetic glad you saw it. I now in my first few days of tandem pump and dexcom 6. How magic it all is!!. I need to rewatch how to wear the pump in bed
Glad to see you back! Would love to learn more about how you live your life day to day with diabetes. Your day in the life videos were super helpful and encouraging🥰
WOW! girl, what a year. so good to see you again. one question; did you transition to the Dexcom G7? since it hasn't been released in the US yet, how will that work? Welcome to America
Thank you! It feels great to be back! I haven’t transitioned full time to the G7, no. I was trying it out in the UK because I’m part of the Warrior Program there, but again, not full time just yet. I’d really want to switch fully only when it connects to the tslim x2 since I use that basal iQ system and it relies on the DEXCOM G6 (only) right now to do that - so though I’m tinkering with the G7, no official moves have been made (though I do love what I’ve experienced thus far on the G7!!!
Congratulations on everything! 🎉 I'm a recent subscriber with gestational diabetes (amateur, I know 😄) and I have learned so much from you and other T1D content creators on how food affects blood sugar levels. Thanks a lot! Would love and watch any content of yours, since you seem just so lovely, funny and compassionate 😊
Lovely to see you again. Wow lots of things happening. I’m hoping you’ll share how you managed your diabetes through it all. Stress and lack of a routine wrecks havoc on my numbers. Also I’m just curious…..was there a reason you moved to NYC?
My fiancé has T1D(LADA) and tbh I'm very scared of how it will affect our life together... She works out about twice a day and eats food in very small portions... And injects insulin in the morning and at night... Some people on TH-cam advise on doing intermittent fasting but doctors in general do not seem to prefer doing anything that involves fasting... And she has been following conventional medical advise... What are your thoughts about fasting and working out in general for a T1D?
Would you consider making a video comparing the experience of living with T1D in, say, five different countries where you might have followers from whom to gather information? (*since you have followers all over)
My daughter just got her insulin pump and I see you use the same cannula insert. On our 3rd changed we ended up with a bad insertion and the tube was bent over and not inserted so, no insulin for her. In your experience what causes this and any prevention tips would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.
How is the change of medical plans effecting you? Eli lily just announced a big reduction in the price of insulin and I think that is going to help us out a lot. Also did you switch yet to the G-7 Dexcom?
I am here after i came to know you are behind The Voice of Female Nomad from Ghost recon Wildlands i just completed the game it was awesome. And You are Such A ❤ vibe 😊
I'm going to be married on 13th may this year and in one week getting my first insulin pump (omnipod dash) so ... i would be very interested in this type of video 😍😍😍
How was it going back to being a diabetic in the US opposed to the Uk . Im in the Uk my daughters t1d. Also would love to see and hear about your wedding. Also how is your mom xx

Glad to hear from you again; glad all is well. God bless, again.
Thank you! God bless you too!! ❤️
Fabulous! Oh congratulations on the move, getting married and purchased a home. How wonderful 😊❤
Thank you so much Mel!! 🥰
@@ShesDiabetic you so welcome ❤️🇦🇺
Congratulations on your wedding! I started on an insulin pump for the first time last year, after 40 years of being a type One diabetic. I just wanted to thank you for all the invaluable information and insights that have helped me greatly with negotiating this new device and way of life, your videos have been great for me. I watched your video on pre-bolusing recently, which has really helped with by blood glucose levels post meals! Thanks again and please keep the videos coming!
I can’t wait to hear more about how you managed your diabetes (and tips and tricks!) during your wedding and an international move! I’ve missed your videos 💕
Happy to see you back!❤

Congratulations on your recent marriage and move!! Wow what an exciting time. I too am a type 1 diabetic.
Thank you my Diabuddy!!! 💙
Congratulations on everything 🎉 Great to see you back 🥰
Thank you so much Emma!!! It feels great to be back!! 🤗
Congratulations! I’d love to hear you compare healthcare in the UK and the healthcare here in the US.
US Healthcare sucks
@@luxurybuzz3681 No it doesn't. If you can afford it. US healthcare is as high quality as anywhere else in the world. If you can afford it.
OMG! Congratulations with all of your new endeavors. I am so glad you are back. You look great, can’t wait for new videos!
Good to see you back! Now let's get you back with Carey for Season 9 of Homeland!
Would love to see the Wedding and Diabetes Management video! It will definitely help me with upcoming planning.. Glad you're well 🙏
I would actually love to make this! Are there any questions/topics you have that you’d specifically be curious to hear about? ❤️
@@anitastokar98 I will ask her about that. Thanks!
Congrats on all things. I am getting a tandem pump soon and It made me wonder what happened to you. Nice to see you back
Congratulations on the new Tandem pump. I'm sure happy with mine.
I’m here, I promise!! How exciting that you’ll be getting a pump soon!! That’s so exciting!! I hope all goes very well, and if you’re anything like me - you’re going to love it!!!
Glad you've been alright Andrea!!! I'm also still diabetic 🤣🤣🤣
Lol!!! What is up with that, eh? 😂😂😂
Terrible disease, I am also type 1 and to control it is a daily striving. But let's keep up the fight.
God bless us.
It really is a battle, but we're up for it - let's keep fighting and have some laughs along the way hopefully! ❤️
Congrats, Looking stunning in Pics, is there a story behind the Thumb-Ups? 👍
It is always hard to "return" but glad to see you doing GREAT
Congratulations !🎉
I am very happy for you I miss your videos to the point that every time I go to TH-cam, I go to your channel to see if you upload a new video. I wish you great blood sugar, but don't forget us, we miss you
😭🧃
Oh thank you so so much for these kind words. I miss you guys too...I PROMISE! I'm trying to work to make shorter videos so I can release more of them because currently it takes me so so long to shoot and edit a video because of their length, I promise, I'm working on it! I'm not going anywhere, and you are equally as important to me - if not more! Believe me!!
Nice to hear from you and I’m glad everything is well. Congratulations on your wedding. Hope your blood glucose is ok. I’m finding it a little difficult but with the Libre sensor I hope it can settle down.
I love ALL your videos! thank you for doing what you do for us type 1's. Michele (UK)
Oh my gosh this means so so much to me - thank you!!!!!!!!! Thank you for being here and for your kindness!!!!
Hi Andrea. Nice to see you back and congratulations
Thank you so much Kimberly!!!
It is so good to see that you are doing well :), am glad you are ok :)
WOW! girl, what a year. so good to see you again. one question; did you transition to the Dexcom G7? since it hasn't been released in the US yet, how will that work? Welcome to America
Thank you! It feels great to be back! I haven’t transitioned full time to the G7, no. I was trying it out in the UK because I’m part of the Warrior Program there, but again, not full time just yet. I’d really want to switch fully only when it connects to the tslim x2 since I use that basal iQ system and it relies on the DEXCOM G6 (only) right now to do that - so though I’m tinkering with the G7, no official moves have been made (though I do love what I’ve experienced thus far on the G7!!!
So nice to hear from you again! Take care and hope to see you more often.
Thank you!!! You certainly will!! I've missed you guys SO MUCH!!!!
Looking forward to more videos from you in near future :)
Sure missed you love your videos please keep them coming
Thank you so much Katherine!! It feels so good to be back! I'm recording another video today :) !
Congratulations Andrea!!
Thank you Frank!!
I MISSED YOUUUUU! I love your wedding dress!
Thanks for the update. Very much appreciated
Congratulations!🍾🥂😊❤🎊
Congrats on the wedding!
Thank you!! 🥰
Looking forward to more of your videos.
Thank you!! I'm looking forward to making more, I've missed you guys SO MUCH!!!!
Lovely to see you again. Wow lots of things happening. I’m hoping you’ll share how you managed your diabetes through it all. Stress and lack of a routine wrecks havoc on my numbers. Also I’m just curious…..was there a reason you moved to NYC?
congrats on everything i know i need to make a video on my updates too so much to do and too little time is what i say
congratulations...for all of the above!
Thank you so much Alison!!
Has it been easier to get your diabetic supplies in the us? Did you find new doctors/ how do you like them?
My fiancé has T1D(LADA) and tbh I'm very scared of how it will affect our life together...
She works out about twice a day and eats food in very small portions... And injects insulin in the morning and at night...
Some people on TH-cam advise on doing intermittent fasting but doctors in general do not seem to prefer doing anything that involves fasting... And she has been following conventional medical advise...
What are your thoughts about fasting and working out in general for a T1D?
Would you consider making a video comparing the experience of living with T1D in, say, five different countries where you might have followers from whom to gather information? (*since you have followers all over)
Good for you. Best wishes to you and new family
How is it adjusting to getting your diabetes supplies here vs where you came from.
Congratulations on your marriage and move. Welcome back to the US.
I'm also diabetec and I waited for you all time
