@Sentinel A proof ? I 'm moroccan and i listen and understand Gnaoua. Why in the lyrics we have so many names of Old African Clan : Bambra - Foullani - Soudani - Yourba - Houassaoui ??... So This music it's old than Moors and berber its pure africain !! Black Moors just nickname of this people from south .... I think that the History Of gnaoua start with Black Guard en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Guard
Sentinel you are also incorrect, Gnaoua is from West Africa and it was brought to Morocco when the West African slaves were taken by the Arab slave traders.
