Manta style dispells debuffs, for example, if they silence you and you cant blink. Use manta, and it will remove your silence, and blink away:)

AM is not very beginner friendly. The power of the hero is his ability to farm very efficiently and that way you can get ahead in the game and take over mid to late game. You didn’t focus on farming and died a lot this game and so you did not get ahead at any point. One more advanced tip is that you can control all units in the game so once you have the manta style you can let the illusions farm the lane for a bit while you safely farm jungle camps nearby. Impressive how fast you seem to learn!

Yeah, KotL is a lane dominator. You could probably have leveled up Spell shield more since it gives you passive magic resistance. Also there is an item called "infused raindrop" which blocks spell damage up to five times and gives you passive mana regen. Normally I would say "just walk up to the support and him afew times to burn his mana" but KotL sadly has a free mana refresh button. It's also no shame to say "I cannot hold this lane, I will jungle". It's better to give up a lane early and get your farm elsewhere instead of staying and not getting anything at all.
I mean, this isn't too far removed from how I play AM, so the title isn't exactly wrong. Lose lane, try and come back by taking fights you can't win and fall further behind, go on the wrong person in teamfights and die needlessly, and just end up as a split push bot. The typical noob AM experience.
Ideally, as AM you want to focus on farming and split pushing as much as possible, avoiding every fight you don't think is just going to be free clean up kills, until you have 2-4 items, then use your massive gold lead to just roll over the enemy team. This playstyle is why it's not good to categorize AM as an assassin, since you pretty much need 3+ items to actually assassinate all but the most immobile squishies (or the select few heroes that are liable to burn their entire mana pool and get 1 shot by your ult). You aren't supposed to look for pickoffs, you are supposed to play as far away from the enemy as possible and look for creeps to kill. Problem I always had is that fighting is more fun than farming and its really hard to resist the call to go in like an idiot.
