Dude, for the second time on any track you were absolutely killin’ it. I just did my second track day (at Thunderhill) in a decade and I found B group a bit too fast for comfort tbh. Went back to A, where I was very comfortable and passing most people (instead of vice versa in B) to work on fundamentals in a radically less stressful environment. Think I need another 5 or so good track days with coaching to belong in B (like you clearly did a year ago). If you did some days this year, you’re probably in A by now(?!) Thx for vid., gives me a good metric of pace in B. Cheers!

Thanks. Appreciate the kind words. It's been a learning experience over the last 2 years as you may know already. But I can definitely tell my riding ability on the track has improved alot. I ran A 1:47 at Laguna a few months ago and now I'm headed to Thunderhill again this weekend. I'll be in A group this time. Should be a blast! Take care, ride safe!

How many different groups are there, if this is "B"? Looks like a lot of folks who have never been on track before.

A group is for Advanced riders or racers practicing throughout the season. B group is intermediate and C group is beginner. Alot of B group riders should be in C and the super fast guys should be in A. It's a mixup in B group

My only fear of a track day is an unexperienced rider hitting me from the back when I’m tryna figure out my line lol but this place is probably the closest to me (east Bay Area), I’ll have to sign me and buddy up next season for sure

I'm not gonna lie to you and say it doesn't happen, but in the mandatory riders meeting before you can even enter the track, the instructors tell you rules of the track. 1 specifically giving people a 6ft gap on all sides. It's very safe and they are very strict about their rules. Nobody is there to get hurt and nobody wins any awards for being the fastest. Sonoma is not a very fast track as its more technical. I'm in the east bay as well (Hayward) so Sonoma is close for me. Would definitely recommend you try out at least 1 track day with a buddy.
